A co-worker of mine has a Honda CBR929RR. He offered me a quick ride, and i have to say, motorcycles aren't for me. It's not so much the speed they achieve, but the lack of protection you have if you'd happen to fall at over 100 mph.

The Lightning XB9S is a pretty cheap bike for what it is. Only $9,195 for MSRP.
I'd rather have a Firebolt XB12R in black, though. They're only $10,995.
A Blast would be an awesome beginner bike IMO. A little 492cc 1 cylinder only making 34hp/30ft/lb. Under 5k too.
A lot of sportbike people look down on Buell's due to their looks, and the fact they're made by Harley, but I love the way they look.👍

An R6 is way too much for a first bike. Today's 600cc SS bikes are nothing to **** around with. That bike is probably only a second slower in the 1/4 mile than 90% of 1,000cc supersports. With a non-linear powerband in that thing, and over 100hp to the wheel of a 370lb bike, you're asking to kill yourself. R6's are some very twitch, b*tchy, bikes. Very stiff chassis/suspension ready to be used on a racetrack. Accelerate just a tad too much on a slightly rough road, and that front ends going to be all over the place. R6's are very prone to headshake/tankslappers.
Most beginners thing they'll grow out of a 600cc bike too fast, but that just isn't the case. A Ninja 250r you could grow out of because it's slower than a Civic. If you started out on an R6 you'll never have as much fun as you would if you started out on a smaller bike, and worked your way up to an R6 later. That's the main reason I'm downgrading bikes from an Erion 929 to a 600-650cc bike. It's not fun riding around on a bike that you're constantly scared of. Nor is it fun riding on a bike that'll pull 3rd gear throttle induced wheelies with ease - it's just plain scary.
