Nice bike. If this is going to be another of your "pictures" threads, spare me the trouble and put it in the "Videos & Photos" board where it belongs, please. If you can post without adding wallpaper to every sentence, then it can stay here.

We already have an Official Motorcycle Thread. Am I correct. Heh. I suscribe to Cycle Canada. Honda CBD 600 RR was named #1 in the 600cc Shootout.

My bro had a Honda CBR 600R, pretty cool. Hah, yesterday I saw a Hayabusa at the mall... that thing is loud.

i think a Hayabusa is 1300cc you just hold on for dear life with those machines have you seen thise higher booster bikes they get 1300cc bikes and put turbos on them they do well over 200mph

Do you guys like Sport Bikes better than crusing bikes, like a kick back Harley for example?

After just about killing myself on a Sport Bike, I've come to a personal opinion that you can enjoy life better on a Harley than on a Ninja or a Katana....:D

I was always trying to push myself to go faster and faster on that Sport bike.

How about this little guy?

I'm a huge fan of sportbikes, but I've become a much bigger fan of Harley/cruisers since my Dad bought his. Just something about how comfortable it is, the way it sounds/feels/rides, the way everyone, and their mom, stares as you ride past with all that chrome shinin'.:P I'm not a big fan of the factory V-Rod, mainly due to those solid wheels, but there was one in one of the motorcycle/chopper magazines my Dad subscribes to, and it was awesome. It wasn't too custom, but it had just enough changes for me to love it.

Sportbikes are dangerous, but that's part of what makes me like them. There's also something about those I4's screaming at 14,000+rpms. I too always find myself doing stupid things on them, and trying to go faster than I know I should.

A co-worker of mine has a Honda CBR929RR. He offered me a quick ride, and i have to say, motorcycles aren't for me. It's not so much the speed they achieve, but the lack of protection you have if you'd happen to fall at over 100 mph.

I agree, they are very dangerous. I just can't help but want one though when I see one... both of my brothers had one, and I loved theirs. A guy I know has a Honda RC-51, awesome bike.

That V-Rod is cool as hell, Pako, and I even like the wheels for some reason. The whole bike just flows perfectly. I never really liked or was into Harleys until recently, but I am starting to like them more. At this point I'd still take a sport bike though.

At 160 mph, the wind actually starts to lift you off the bike. It's a scary sensation.

But if I had to hit the SportBike series, I have to look into the Buell.

If I could afford it that is...

The Lightning XB9S is a pretty cheap bike for what it is. Only $9,195 for MSRP.

I'd rather have a Firebolt XB12R in black, though. They're only $10,995.

A Blast would be an awesome beginner bike IMO. A little 492cc 1 cylinder only making 34hp/30ft/lb. Under 5k too.

A lot of sportbike people look down on Buell's due to their looks, and the fact they're made by Harley, but I love the way they look.👍

I had a dirtbike, Pretty old one. The most I took it was 3rd gear, and then one rainy night me and my dad's dirtbike's were stolen. :(
Beull, is affiliated with Harley Davidson, or something like that. They sound wicked, my favourite bike has to be the Honda RC-51(VTR-1000 in Europe). Josh, have you heard of the Yamaha Vmax?

Are you kidding?
I would buy a Buell for its looks!

Most sportbike owners will ride sportbikes, and sportbikes only. They don't really consider any of the Buell's to be sportbikes because they don't have a full fairing on them. They refer to them as more of a naked bike, than a sportbike. At sportbikes.net you'll see a lot of hatred towards Harleys, and Harley owners. I don't post there much because seeing that just aggravates the hell out of me.

I would love to own a Buell. Maybe not a Blast, but any other Buell.:P

Super-Supra - yes, I've seen the V-Max. It's definitely a fast, nice, cruiser. I would rather have a Road Star Warrior, though.;)

Yamaha R6

How about this for a first bike? I think if I got anything lower than 600cc, I'd grow out of it too fast. Anything much higher than 600cc as a first bike is asking for trouble.

An R6 is way too much for a first bike. Today's 600cc SS bikes are nothing to **** around with. That bike is probably only a second slower in the 1/4 mile than 90% of 1,000cc supersports. With a non-linear powerband in that thing, and over 100hp to the wheel of a 370lb bike, you're asking to kill yourself. R6's are some very twitch, b*tchy, bikes. Very stiff chassis/suspension ready to be used on a racetrack. Accelerate just a tad too much on a slightly rough road, and that front ends going to be all over the place. R6's are very prone to headshake/tankslappers.

Most beginners thing they'll grow out of a 600cc bike too fast, but that just isn't the case. A Ninja 250r you could grow out of because it's slower than a Civic. If you started out on an R6 you'll never have as much fun as you would if you started out on a smaller bike, and worked your way up to an R6 later. That's the main reason I'm downgrading bikes from an Erion 929 to a 600-650cc bike. It's not fun riding around on a bike that you're constantly scared of. Nor is it fun riding on a bike that'll pull 3rd gear throttle induced wheelies with ease - it's just plain scary.

We'll I rode for one year. And then my bike got stolen. I'm gonna get a Suzuki GS500 for a first bike, and then a Yamaha R1. :D!! Or I'll ride in style on the bike in my avatar.

What route would you suggest for a first bike, then? In no way did I mean to suggest that 600cc's are to be taken lightly, but I think I would grow out of a smaller engined bike too quickly (250R Ninja, for example).

My mate has this bike Honda VFR 400 you can pick these up in england for about £2500. to £3500 pounds for a good example Dont think that just because its a 400 its slow belive me its plenty fast enougth as i have been on the back this bike dose about a 135mph top speed and 0 to 60 in about 4.5 seconds

vfr400.jpg

its on the other side. as the back wheel has that style of rear wheel with only one arm. Josh is right modern 600 sports bikes are very quick and not the best thing to learn on.

Another good bike is the Aprilia Rs 250 just as fast as 400 due to the powerfull 2 stroke engine and very light so you scare the 1000cc bikes down narow lanes. Simerler peformace as the VFR but better round bends due to being so light. problems 2 stroke bikes need a lot more maintaing then 4 stroke and no engine breaking when relesing the throttle can scare people who are not used to it.

index.jpg

it is fast it is close to the aprilia 250cc bikes that race in the moto gp. Both are good beginers bikes as well as good on a track if you want to do that but its up to you. Look up on both bikes your self and then make a choice.

Both pics are how they come stock.

All sports bikes look the same to me

But my cousin has one and he says it's a joy to ride. I've been on the back of his, and I have to say it is. I really don't know much about them, but I was thinking of getting one. It's a lot cheaper than a car and a lot funner to ride. Especially when your weaving in and out of traffic and making people jelious when you just go right in between the lanes in bumper to bumper traffic. ;)
