Yes this is the Camaro Z/28 with the CTS-V's 6.2L LSA Supercharged engine. I've known this for the past 4 months....were have the people been?

I'd rather go with the upcoming Challenger. A 480hp Naturally-Aspirated V8, 8-speed Automatic, and the new Pentastar 290hp V6 coming, well it may be able to beat the new Mustang.

In a drag race maybe, but the Challenger will still be an over-sized too heavy 2 door sedan.

Yand the new Pentastar 290hp V6 coming, well it may be able to beat the new Mustang.

Smoking some funky stuff eh? Neither the Camaro nor the Challenger can compete with the new Mustang in any form. Thanks for the laugh, I needed it. 👍

But the Mustang V6 still has more power, less weight, and better aerodynamics (barely)

Is an 8 speed auto really needed? I've driven a car with a 6sp auto and it's always searching for gears

Well think about this: a 412hp Mustang does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.
A 425hp Challenger does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Now imagine that the Challenger had a 480hp and an 8A. It would be faster, and would compete better.
No the 290hp Challenger WILL NOT BEAT THE V6 MUSTANG. But it will compete BETTER with the group. Then again, you all missed one car: the Genesis Coupe. It's in fact better than the V6 Mustang.

And yes an 8 Speed Auto is too many gears, if Dodge could have sourced Fiat for a 7 Speed Dual-Clutch, it would be perfect. But look at this: Mercedes-Benz is introducing a 9-Speed Automatic in about 3 years (for a car codenamed SLV, a smaller SLS). I sure do think the 8 Speed Auto should stick where it's been, in Rolls-Royces and Bentleys (when you got one of these, you probably aren't even driving it.)

And am I smoking anything funny? No. I just like the idea of better competition and I have an optimistic approach to every new car, I want the car to be well-recieved. Cars like the Nassau (Sebring replacement), Fiat 500, the next New Beetle, upcoming Volvo S60 and Saab 9-5. I could go all day.

And I'm pretty sure my mom would wring my neck for the next 30.2 years of my life if I ever smoked anything.

Oh, before I forget, you are so welcome for the laugh. Even though it's not funny.

How about dropping some weight & finding a better setup instead of just throwing on 50 more ponies just so you can go .6 seconds faster....

The Challenger, even more so than the Camaro, needs less weight. It weighs as much as an elephant and is the size of a house. No amount of power is going to fix that.

It would still be the worst of the three, though. The only difference would be that it would be a little bit slower than the Camaro rather than laughably slower.

Eh, they are close enough that it generally ends up coming down to who likes the styling of each car.

7 Speed? A 5 speed will do.

That's pretty much my thoughts exactly. I like both cars equally, and for me it would come down to me having to test drive each to find the one that fits me better. :D
