The LAST thing I want is to garner ANY unwanted attention. Especially from the Po-po. Wings, body kits, funky head or tail lights, and loud exhaust, are not about to get me stopped for DWB.
I figure an intake, fuel rail and fuel pump, degree wheel for the cams, and a mild exhaust...
I grew up where the rule was "be fast, look stock" Hence, the Ford wagon I have spoken of, with with the 429 SCJ and SINGLE exhaust...

well it sounds like your going to build a nice sleeper. Me I want my vechile to look good hence the Blazer :D

Sleepers RULE :mischievous: :mischievous: I had my dirty hands on an old Datsun 240Z with a 280Z turbo with 5 speed manual in it. Looked bone stock except for a little wheel work.. That could've been an awesome vehicle, but decided to spend the money on the bike instead....

If my memory serves, there's a company out there that sells a conversion kit to put a small block V-8 in a 240Z.
Imagine a 350 Chevy or a 302 Ford motor sitting way back in the Z engine bay...

I've heard of those, but I think that's cheating :) Putting a big heavy V8 in to replace a light(er) R6 block.. No good IMHO :D

But of course it can be done. One of the better conversions are right here. Check out Darious' 240Z monster here : http://darius240z.com/240z.htm

Seems to be the proverbial needle in a haystack.
Aye, I'm looking around for one too...but I'm waiting it out until this new job gets going. Except I woulsn't mind a sunroof (factory installed, only).

Hard to track down here, too. My guess is that they're sold private party; good Civic Si's and 'Tegs are sold much the same way around here.

And the F&F crowd snatches up late-model Supras like free money, despite them becoming overpriced.

AE86s are still cheap; $1500-2500 because the craze hasn't really caught on here. But I'm not really interested in sinking money in to a 15-18 year old, 120hp Corolla. That's what GT games are for.

i heard that nissan is buying back all the 240z's they can get their hands on. they are restoring them and will be releasing a new line of 240s, reconditioned and factory new. i don't know how true that is but it could explain the current shortage.

as for f&f, i loved that movie but i instantly wanted to go and buy an rx-7 rather than a supra, the engine sounded better plus it looked more like a sports car and less like a japanese car! rofl
