US playstation blog has revealed today that they have been planning a playstation event in Manhattan starting tomorrow evening Nov 9th.

Sorry I made a new thread, the news channel is to buzzing with the leaks.

EDIT: Its not a playstation show but a Playstation Lounge (shop), but tomorrow night is the opening night and they have a big section for GT5.

That looks pretty cool. Might just check it out someday. I'm just across the river so it's not too big a deal to get over there. Just a matter of making time.

Gread idea with the thread, I expect the release date tomorrow, I am sure this time, almost.

We need someone to go with a video camera and a tripod and some good driving skills. I would but I have a presentation in class in the middle of the day.

...play portions of Gran Turismo 5 first previewed at E3...

Hmmm. :irked: So essentially, you'll be able to play the same demo build which is already available at virtually every BestBuy. I don't think it's worth it to fight what will likely be huge lines for this. And if the article makes a specific point to say "previewed at E3" they are obviously trying to discourage people hoping to get a first look at the full game and making it clear this is NOT the case.

I certainly hope it's not the demo build. The weather over here has been horrible, but Im still gonna take the time to check it out.

Does anyone know what time it opens? I don't see one on the blog.

East Coast gets better sneak peeks then West does haha. Hopefully tomorrow they'll announce the release date.

I don't even know what to think if Sony doesn't give a new release date tomorrow morning. I would love to go into work tomorrow at 8 and see a release date on my GTPlanet RSS feed.

I have a large hunch that the announcement will not come from this event. Kaz will want to be in person for any announcement made and I doubt he's flying into New York and wouldnt be bringing retail copies for people to play in the store for its grand opening if he were going to be there.

I'm gonna go to the grand opening tomorrow with a friend, so while she's taking pics with Sackboy and playing Eyepet, GT5 for me. Haha I can't wait!

If Sony wants to control the intense bleeding from the past 24 hours, they really need to announce a date tomorrow, or leaking will continue.

I'm putting my money that tomorrow Sony will announce a 23rd Nov release date for the US and the rest of the world in the same week.

Pretty much.

But watch nothing happen.

I'd be surprised...why would you announce it the same day that CoD drops and prodding GTplanet to censure leaked videos that day before?

c'mon Sony...how many discs need to be packed before a release date is set? Just so agonizing...I'm going take that frustration out tomorrow with the new CoD

I kinda hope I'm wrong but if tomorrow comes and goes like certain other times this year, I wouldn't be surprised.
