Suspension advice please.

I have been getting into older Japanese rear wheel drive cars, and have found that I enjoy these cars most on the Nordschleife. I have been running the Levin, Trueno, Silvia RS240, Silvia 2000 gt-r, etc. So is it safe to assume that I could use very similar suspension, LSD, and brake settings for these cars? What type of setting would you guys recommend for suspension. I am currently lowering ever so slightly with about:

2 2
1.5 camper front and rear, and .20 toe on rear. Brakes are balanced at 6 front 4 rear. LSD is around 15/25/10. I use racing soft.

I don't use any aids, not even abs. The cars seem to drive alright with these approximate settings, I'm just wondering if there is a better setup. Thanks in advance guys and gals.
 
My setups go like this:

I run high rebounds 7 or 8
My compressions are at 5 at the lowest and 8 at the highest
I run my Sway bars at 4 to 6. I believe the softer the sway bar the more control you have on shot tires. But the higher the setting the more accurate your car is.
I toe in before I toe out the front (better turn in). No more then 10 degrees either way.
I actually run rear toe dead even or plus 5 toe out for straight line speed and it also helps the rear turn. (See its full potential at Mazda Raceway). This setting is great for 90 degree turns!
My camber in the front is anywhere from 0.0 to 2.5 (camber doesn't slow your straight line speed in this game). I'm still testing to see if it eats the tires as well, but I haven't noticed anything yet from test sessions.
LSD accel at 8 to 12 anything over that and the car outside wheel starts to pull me into a drift. (this also doesn't affect your acceleration even if you make it peg wheeled which is a setting of 6 or less). I would say with this setting start at 6 and work your way up, instead of working your way down from 40!
Initial torque 10 to 30 (this is like a TCS control the higher the setting the less the wheels light up. If it tightens up the car too much adjust the LSD brake side down to compensate. That will definitely loosen the cars turn in back to its original state!).
Weight balance set to more of a rear setting gives you more turn down & acceleration. In some cars this actually raises your PP value.
And finally a more dropped car gives you more maneuverability. I noticed my lap times drop with more of a lowered ride height. 👍
 
Most lower powered cars will take a wide variety of tune settings with race softs because the incredible amount of grip vs. the lower power and speed of the car, will override many of the suspension adjustments. Often you can increase or decrease all the suspension elements with little effect due to the incredible grip of the tires. Corners that are easily flat out or nearly so on race softs will require much more technique on harder tires and thus a finer tuning adjustment.

If you make the switch to Sports or Comfort Tires you'll find that tuning is much more important as the car is much closer, more often, to it's grip limit and small adjustments here and there will make a big difference.
 
Thanks Joe, MCH, and Johnny. I'll do some more testing tonight. Joe, I'm going to give your general setup a try. Johnny, should I switch to tires with less grip and and tune the suspension until it is nearly perfect, then switch back to racing softs? I see your point regarding low power, more grip, etc. I'm going to try tonight with lower tires and see how much of a difference I can make with suspension.

I tend to tune on two compounds harder than I intend to race on. It's easier to see nasty things show up in the LSD and suspension settings.

Yea I agree, I've tried this. I like to put the car with as less grip as possible meaning the hardest tires and lowest downforce. If you can learn how to drive the car in this condition, and be fast with it, then of course when you add the extra grip (softer tires), and downforce all you have to do is watch the lap times drop! 👍
