Sorry to combo break the hair metal chain but since I ditched my Spotify account I seem to be listening to more music than ever.
Currently listening to Jim Sullivan's first and second albums. Presumably these are his only two albums but perhaps the aliens will beam him down to make a follow up at eighty-five years old after abducting him fifty years ago next Thursday. The first album has great support from members of The Wrecking Crew.
As a follow up I'm listening to the Beach Boys' (or rather Brian Wilson & The Wrecking Crew's)
Pet Sounds album for the first time. Having had a quick preview I'm going to try the recent stereo mix even though I'm using a mono Bluetooth speaker. [EDIT] Umm...
Pet Sounds was okay and I get the innovation in production and arrangement but I don't think it's accompanying me to the proverbial desert island.
Also had time to finish listening to Roxy Music's
For Your Pleasure (I really liked it) and give Radiohead's
In Rainbows another listen as I haven't heard it since its release in 2007 and remember being the first record by them I liked since 1997's
OK Computer. Still finding it really accessible today on a second listen and I'll also try out disk 2 which wasn't available when I downloaded the album on release.
We now return you to the regular heavy rock thread.
