Bodyjar - One in a Million

Currently revisiting some of the music I listened to when I was a teenager. Going through my old posts in the previous "What Are You Listening To?" threads has been a trip.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd - While We Cry

A friend played this in 1997 at a recital for the place he was getting guitar lessons. Everyone thought it was Pearl Jam's Yellow Ledbetter until he kept playing. Having heard him play it countless times, I couldn't help but smile and laugh at their confused looks.

Southern rock wasn't my thing growing up so I've got Little Feat's second, third and fourth albums lined up for my next reading session.

[EDIT] Halfway through Sailin' Shoes I caved in and got their first album too. Will also try and get hold of the super deluxe version of Waiting For Columbus.

I need to find some other classical jazz bands to listen to, tired of listening to the same rock, techno, country and folk music. Gotta find more varieties.

Went to see my fave bad for the 3rd time in 12 months. Loved them for the last 20+ years.

Some of you in the UK might remember The Futureheads from the mid 00s and their cover of ‘Hounds of Love. IMG_5483.jpeg

Dionne Warwick - This Empty Place

Plus the rest of this excellent Rhino compilation covering her Scepter singles that I used to enjoy as a lad in the nineties before it got lost in a house renovation.

Cinderella - Nobody's Fool

Tesla - Little Suzi

Mötley Crüe - S.O.S.

Many years ago, a local radio station would spend a couple hours on Sunday playing hair bands and I'd tune in whenever possible, including with a little radio at work if that's how I was spending the day. It didn't feel like Sunday otherwise. The frequency changed formats a long time ago and I don't live in that market anymore but it still doesn't feel like Sunday if I don't hear that stuff.

Sorry to combo break the hair metal chain but since I ditched my Spotify account I seem to be listening to more music than ever.

Currently listening to Jim Sullivan's first and second albums. Presumably these are his only two albums but perhaps the aliens will beam him down to make a follow up at eighty-five years old after abducting him fifty years ago next Thursday. The first album has great support from members of The Wrecking Crew.

As a follow up I'm listening to the Beach Boys' (or rather Brian Wilson & The Wrecking Crew's) Pet Sounds album for the first time. Having had a quick preview I'm going to try the recent stereo mix even though I'm using a mono Bluetooth speaker. [EDIT] Umm... Pet Sounds was okay and I get the innovation in production and arrangement but I don't think it's accompanying me to the proverbial desert island.

Also had time to finish listening to Roxy Music's For Your Pleasure (I really liked it) and give Radiohead's In Rainbows another listen as I haven't heard it since its release in 2007 and remember being the first record by them I liked since 1997's OK Computer. Still finding it really accessible today on a second listen and I'll also try out disk 2 which wasn't available when I downloaded the album on release.

We now return you to the regular heavy rock thread. :P
