-------------------For Immediate Release-----------------------------------
Nurburgring, June 15th.
Suzuki stamped it's dominance on the Road Car Enduro Championship today with a stunning win from behind at the Nurburgring 4 hour enduro.
Honda's Takasheeto Suno started the race from pole position in the NSX Type R 02, and immediately established a lead on the pack, hotly pursued by Jaguar's ex F1 driver Eddie Stickman in the new XKR-R, , Buck Stopshere driving the Ford SVT Cobra R, Long Don Silver III in the Corvette C4, Scott Imonspeed in the works Camaro and Slammer La Mont in the Suzuki GSX/R.
La Mont easily got the jump on Imonspeed at the start and moved into 4th by taking Don Silver with an audacious pass at Aremburg. With it's light weight the Suzuki was a demon braker and La Mont used it's full potential to grab 4th place.
At the front Takasheeto looked to be romping away from the field, with Stickman finding the handling of his Jaguar a little more difficult than the F1 pit babes he was used to.
By the time the pack reached Bergwerk La Mont's Suzuki was glued to Stopshere's Cobra, taking him on the inside at Klosterall. He then ducked inside Irvine who's Jaguar understeered at Caracciola Karussel and set out after Suno in the NSX.
By lap two the race had settled down with Suno leading La Mont, the Suzuki gaining on the tight technical parts of Nuburgring, and the NSX stretching it's legs on the long straights.
La Mont surprised the field by pitting on lap 5 while Suno stayed out until lap 6, which proved to be fatal for Takasheeto's chances.
"Lap 6 I could not keep pace of Suzuki..much oversteer..very bad for driving" said Takasheeto
La Mont had made up the 27 second deficit in one lap on fresh tyres and drafted Suno down the long straight at Nurburgring, grabbing the lead under hard braking just before pit straight.
From there on La Mont set a consistently hot pace with a new lap record of 7:43.234 on lap 23. Suno maintained his pit strategy and fell further behind the storming Suzuki, finally finishing a full lap down on lap 39 of the 40 lap race.
"Mate it was a great victory here today for Suzuki" said La Mont, "i'd like to thank my pit crew for awesome pitstops, and for Suzuki in giving an old bastard like me a chance to race at the best track on the planet."
La Mont is a relative newcomer to the enduro season however his first place at the El Capitan for Suzuki and now a first at Nurburgring see's him handily leading the Road Car Enduro Championship from Takasheeto Suno, driving for Honda.

1st Slammer La Mont Suzuki GSX/R 30 laps
2nd Takasheeto Suno Honda NSX/R 29 laps
