RRoDzaaah!
In Windows 95, when you click on System in the Control Panel and you go to the Performance Tab, it would show how much total resources, in percentage, were free at that moment. Is there a way to display that information in Windows XP?

Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete (just once) and click on the performance tab. That should give you all the information you could want about system resource usage.

You can also right click on the Task Tray and go to Task Manager from there.

I should have mentioned that, but it didn't even come to mind. :dunce: (Much easier your way) :)

Wow! XP and 2000 are nearly the same. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete, go to Task Manager and then hit Performane on 2000.

Windows 2000 is the replacement for windows NT 4.

Basically Windows 2000 is windows NT version 5, but they decided to go with 2000.

Windows 2000 is reliable, but it has no plug and play support and it needs to be upgraded via the service packs just to run newer software. If I can recall Windows NT4 was released a year after Windows 95.

No because Windows NT Windows 2000 and WinXP pro (not sure about XP home) are all basically versions of NT.

Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows 98se
Windows Millenium
are all part of the Windows 9x series.

I think XP Home runs on the same stuff as XP Pro. I'm not sure though. Pro just has a lot of networking stuff and Home doesn't.

Im not sure ive only got XP pro. Although I dont see the point in removing the network stuff. Maybe stuff like encryption and disk quotas were removed? I dont know ive only used XPPro for about 1hr and Xphome for about 5 mins. When I can be arsed to get the cd-key from work ill give XP a burl.

I got XP home, it does come with a few networking things and it does have encryption and disk quotas. XP home doesn't come with things like power point, excel, and a few other microsoft works programs. It does come with word and publisher however.

Er neither does XP Pro

When you install an operating systems, no other programs are installed. Unless you are using a manufactured computer (dell IBM etc) that most likely has a build disk that installs the os and all the programs at the same time.

Thanks for the Link jordan very helpful :)
