The intensity of this rain battle has gone up to another level. Maria goes on full battle mode, proving her new outlook in life, and bravely facing her challenges.

Mako: "How dare you... I'm not going to show mercy this time!"

Mako presses hard on the pedal, and instantly recovers her lead.

17217066354_401baa12fc_c.jpg

Drifting the legendary Subaru, it's a sign that Mako has also stepped up her game.

(Background Music: Initial D Eurobeat: Heartbeat - Natalie)

17839575005_a61ce84a7f_c.jpg

Maria: "The plan will still push through, even if this turned out to be much tougher!"

But it's Maria's turn once again. The drift cost some speed from the Impreza, allowing the MINI to negate the advantage.

17839572725_28a786d7a1_c.jpg

Knowing how this battle got intense, to the point of putting strain on her beloved late brother's car, Mako remembers her brother's inspiring words.

"Mako... you have grown into a beautiful and strong woman. There's no need for me to look after you. I've taught so much and I'm proud that all of my efforts have paid off.

But in the end, you have to carve your own path. You don't have to follow in my footsteps. Make your own path that you think will ensure you happiness and no regrets.

Do it for me..."

17217058094_1d0c90a9ef_c.jpg

"But... Aniki..."

"No need to worry about me. I, too, carved my path. And that led me to where I am today. I control my fate.

Now, it's your time to show the world what you're truly capable of. Make people see how strong you are. I'm actually envious of you..."

Mako: "Aniki... in truth I wanted to say that I still need you. You're the very reason why I took up rallying. I followed you."

17219180723_f337640c5b_c.jpg

Mako: "My world almost crushed when you died on that accident. But I needed to move on, and your teachings served as my pillar of strength."

Then her brief sadness turned back into anger.

Mako: "But I simply cannot forgive someone who dishonors people, especially the ones who've passed on! Using your name for selfish purposes is pure abomination! That anger drove me to pursue rallying further, and kept on winning to gather Takuma's attention."

However, anger is not the solution, as the Impreza slides off due to excess speed.

17652018470_26947108f2_c.jpg

Mako: "Dammit..."

Maria: "Something wrong back there, missy?"

Mako then focuses on her opponent's skills.

Mako: "Then that woman... why is she interfering? Why does she have to protect her friend? She knows nothing about what happened! I gotta admit that she is a strong woman too. But why is she standing on my way?"

17651755168_e324c644eb_c.jpg

Having had enough, Mako decides to settle things once and for all.

17651752088_2cc510f5af_c.jpg

Mako: "That's it. Once I beat her, Takuma is next! I cannot afford wasting my time on someone who's guarding the gates!"

On the high speed corner, Mako shifts to another lane. However, she sees that the MINI braked. Thinking that it was a mistake, she moves for a pass. But...

...it turns out that the corner's angle became sharper, and the Impreza's speed proved too much. Coupled with the wet surface, understeer became her punishment.

Mako: "What?!? That turn became sharper! I didn't notice that!"

17813240436_04ed936995_c.jpg

Mako kept on steering right, but the lack of grip on the ditch made the Impreza spin out.

17651747188_c22c3e1f98_c.jpg

Maria managed to observe the spin through the rear-view mirror.

Maria: "Anger never solved a thing..."

17219165953_fd112c117b_c.jpg

Maria briefly moves on, but her concern prompts her to stop. She takes out an umbrella and opens it up to protect her from the shower.

She walks a few meters, and sees Mako leaning on her car looking up the clouds. Maria then moves her umbrella to cover Mako from the rain.

Maria: "You'll get sick."

Mako: "Why? Why are you protecting him?"

Maria: "It's not about protecting him. I won't forgive Takuma-san either if he used a name from my loved ones too.

Ask yourself, is this what your brother wants? He is resting in peace. Do not open up old wounds. What's past is past.

You're already doing him a favor. You are already honoring him. Right up there, he's watching your every victory in rallying. Why don't you just keep doing that? It's much better.

Honor and revenge never go together. Even if you beat me, and won against Takuma-san, nothing will change. It's a waste of effort. Revenge is like a forest, you can easily get lost and you'll never be able to come back."

Mako: "One more thing... what makes you strong?"

Maria: "Pride. But pride that is used in a proper way. It's is a volatile quality. Handle it carefully to prevent it from exploding.

I guess that's speech over. I gotta head back."

Time: 2 pm, a week later

The storm has ended, and Dream Alliance once again sees sunshine in their conquest... also literally.

Maria marvels at the sight of the bright sun outside the house. She then goes out to water the plants just to bask herself under the rays. The temperature has gotten slightly warmer as well.

Maria: "I can spend the entire day out! Finally... sunshine!"

Owen heads out too, and is happy to see her back in her usual optimistic outlook.

Owen: "Yeah. Better enjoy it while it lasts, though."

Maria: "There will always be sunshine, wherever we are."

Owen: "And we will get to see it another time, anyway. We're going to Los Angeles."

Maria: "Right. We're rooting for Andy. I hope we can end this Vision GT thing."

Owen: "You know what, I admire your strength. Look, you stood still during the time your father disappeared, right? And now, you are ready to face the challenge of motherhood. You never back down."

Maria: "That's just woman pride kicking in. Our kind is slowly making a presence in the world. We're not afraid anymore. We broke the chains of restriction."

Owen: "I notice that. Hey, I've made cake. I hope you don't mind the messy kitchen, since it's my first time and all..."

Maria: "Oh dear... you should have asked help, dummy!"

The couple get inside. Then they spend a few moments to clean up the mess, with Maria tasting the cake. It was satisfactory for a first-timer. With that, Owen puts it in the fridge for it to be served as a dessert later.

Maria then switches on the television. It then shows a footage of Mako's Impreza Rally car performing a practice run in Toscana, Italy.

prideend.jpg

The sports news reports of an upcoming rallying tournament, with the teams in the track for the whole day making practice runs.

She shows a smile, something that bewilders Owen this time.

Owen: "Why the smile?"

Maria: "She's just doing her brother a favor. I told her off. At least she didn't stray for far too long. Everything is back to normal, including for her."

prideend_1.jpg

Maria: "I'm happy for her. She's back to the path of good, one that she truly walks on. That's the best way to honor her late brother."

prideend_2.jpg

Maria: "She deserves sunshine too, you know? I understood her pain."

All's well that ends well. The couple just lean on each others' side on the sofa while browsing for channels.

Location: Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire
Time: 4 pm, the next day

Sunday, a day that main events at Silverstone are usually held. This time, it's a charity race for earthquake victims in a country in Asia.

However, while enjoying the spirit of competition and as well as compassion, an enigmatic car gets all the attention...

prideend_3.jpg

Once again, the Mazda LM55 wreaks havoc, despite the fact that its power is being restricted not only for the event but also to test Takuma's rotary engine knowledge. Kaido is at the helm, aiming to test the capabilities of its restricted performance and make another set of checks before sending it to Takuma.

Kaido: "Takuma would be mistaken by the 4-rotor engine he actually built. He deemed it to be a failure, but..."

prideend_4.jpg

Kaido: "...even just being restricted to 500 horsepower, it still instills dominance to the competition. Upon driving it, he'll think that this is the maximum capability of the engine. Even I was deceived when I first drove this. It accelerates like a 700 HP machine."

prideend_5.jpg

Kaido: "He will be taken by shock, upon seeing his Furai now risen from the ashes."

prideend_6.jpg

The high-pitched exhaust note emitted by the naturally-aspirated 4-rotor engine is definitely music to the ears, even charming its opponents.

Kaido: "Soon, he'll meet the car that truly embodies the Black Dragon. The one that is eagerly waiting for its master."

prideend_7.jpg

Kaido: "Takuma Kanonji! Can you handle this?"

The LM55 leaves a lasting impression everyone who witnessed its speed. What more if it manages to break its chains restricting it...

THE END

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

- But wait, there's more! A bonus page will come after this. It's been a long time since I haven't made a bonus page in my work.

so does this guy own Mazda North America or something? I mean how the 🤬 did he get his hand on a Furai and LM55?

Hmmmmmm.... have you read the preceding story titles? Takuma's fascination with the Rotary engine dates back to my GT5 era titles. And did I mention that the Furai was a gift?

The story about the LM55's creation (and it's mentioned in the entire storyline) started when he received the Furai from Sir Shaw McCarthy, his adoptive grandfather. He defeated Sir Shaw in a race, in the GT5 era, which made him receive that car recently.

However, the Furai got burned (much like what happened in real-life) and while the rear is charred, its front end was saved and then coupled with the new rear subframe, the LM55 was conceived.

This, however, slipped past through Takuma, and he currently doesn't know that his beloved Furai turned into a much more menacing beast (or should I say, dragon).

EDIT: I sent you a PM containing a background summary about the LM55's origins.

The Encounter

Location: Dream Alliance Headquarters, Nurburg, Germany

Whew... finally. I'm thankful to Maria for letting herself solve the problem. The old wound has finally been closed and healed.

As for Mako, well she's been doing nice. If she would come up and apologize, then that would be great. But I'm not expecting it right now.

With that taken care of, it's time for us three to go to America and help out Andy. Word has it that his friend is storming around the street racing and circuit scenes driving a Vision GT car. That one is our cue to act upon it.

But in an unrelated matter, I headed to our headquarters. I talked to Hiroyuki-san about fetching my racing-spec FD, since I feel that it has been stashed for too long in the garage that must be filled only with our fleet of racing cars such as the SLS GT3 and the Mazda 787B, not our personal ones.

17299794733_239533ec93_c.jpg

I kinda insisted in taking it, since I'm the only one using it anyway. My garage back in London is quite big, and it would be better if the car is within my grasp.

Takuma: "I gotta head back."

Hiroyuki: "I'm gonna miss that dark purple menace in the garage. But since it's truly yours, I cannot insist to stay it here. Take care. And I want to hear from Andy once you reach America."

Takuma: "Got it. I'll set off, Hiroyuki-san! Farewell."

I left him, once again alone. He should just stay back in Tokyo with his wife, you know? We can take care of things here. Nigel also insisted on that.

Before I could leave for America tomorrow, I decided to have a little run with my FD. It's been a long time since I haven't driven a Rotary, and the moments of the burning Furai still haunt in my head at times.

I wish I could have saved it. But a Rotary engine's reliability is questionable, and there are so many vital things to watch for, unlike in a piston engine. Apex seals are the ones that give you the most problem.

17732681040_67a3910831_c.jpg

That old man Kaido just scrapped the Furai, and its story just met a tragic end. That's it. I never heard from it ever...

Sometimes, you would wish to turn back time.

While cruising with my thoughts, I heard something. It's a high-pitched tone similar to an F1 car. Could it be an LFA?

(Background Music)

17917217882_844945b131_c.jpg

Upon looking at the side mirror, it turns out the car following me sits very low on to the asphalt. I can tell that it's a Mazda, since the big logo sits on its grille. But to make that kind of sound...

17893870126_bb456f8246_c.jpg

I shifted the car into high gear and let it stay on the low revs first just to silence it in order for me to hear that mysterious car. I have a hunch...

That high-pitch note, and then a buzz... heh. Those put a smile on my face. I can easily tell.

IT'S A ROTARY! A FOUR-ROTOR UNIT!

Four-rotors make that unique sound. The 787B sings that way as well. All right... I'll make this thing fun. Let's go!

I shifted back to 2nd gear, and I also love this FD's battle cry! Even though this FD has a custom 3-rotor unit under the hood, I won't allow myself to lose against a 4-rotor!

17920843361_921a4b25d9_c.jpg

Our little run begins, and immediately the mystery car's exhaust note dominates. 4-rotors are loud.

17297694784_067a15c090_c.jpg

Impressive! Among the three FDs I own, this is the most powerful at 700 horsepower. Yet that car is still right on my tail!

17920261535_9f6a87eb09_c.jpg

And... it makes an easy overtake. Skyactiv? Rotary with Skyactiv technology? Plus, it dons the same color as my car!

Its speed is unreal! How much power does it make? And how heavy is that?

17893864686_d01debb53d_c.jpg

Then upon exiting the corner, I don't see any trace of wheel spin at all! The exit speed is like Road Runner blasting away from Coyote! Meanwhile I have the trouble in modulating the throttle! Is that a 4WD?

17297690654_569dfed6d1_c.jpg

But strangely, it allowed me to keep up. I hate being played, you know? Give me every juice you got!

17297688934_bd1bec5c64_c.jpg

Then it moves away from me again. You'll regret playing me around...

17734006959_1e41914023_c.jpg

But I think it's starting to show its true colors. Dammit! You got me!

17920254475_489cdb27e2_c.jpg

No way! That car completely shook me off! It blasted away!

17732664070_515676d5f2_c.jpg

Just who the hell are you? I gotta hand it to you, though. You know how to catch me off guard.

And you deserve to see my full potential, should we meet next time.

17917201282_368b18eae0_c.jpg

Kaido: "So... does it mean I'm faster than the Dream Alliance? Nah... that's wishful thinking. But with all tests done, I can finally go back to Japan. Hehehehehehe...

...the Black Dragon is ready. Ready to serve its master and devour the competition."

That mystery car... or was it a spaceship? It's completely out of my sight. No use chasing it down further. I'm toast.

17920828851_4d368797ca_c.jpg

That was one hell of an encounter. I've never seen a car like that, ever. But I have this feeling...

...that it's calling out for me. It's like that car is yet to be tamed. Why am I feeling that?

I don't want to think much about the encounter today. I'll be sure to have a revenge match on that one.

For now, it's time to get to work. We're getting close to the head honcho of the Vision GT, Kazunori Yamauchi, and I'm sorry to say that I cannot afford any distractions.

And I won't spoil what will happen the final leg of the VGT Saga, of course.

yeah should have expected that...

TRUE MUSCLE II

Andy Midfield returns to America after finding out his friend, Alan Long, rattles the competition using a car from Kazunori Yamauchi's Vision Gran Turismo program.

He attempts to take back his friend for another shot, but he has to take care a bigger issue - which is to take down the said program. But Andy is unsure if he will be willing to turn in and sell out his friend for the good of the racing world.

Andy is facing tough choices...

Location: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Time: 4 pm

Finally... we've touched down Los Angeles. I had a good sleep as well. You rock, British Airways.

Passing through Immigration checks and taking our luggage were all easy. Now it's tough to find a cab. Owen and Maria are trying their best to hail one.

And then a call arrives. I'm sure Andy is waiting for us...

Takuma: "Hey Andy..."

Andy: "Where are you? I thought you'll visit my place at this hour."

Takuma: "Hehe.. sorry. We're still finding a cab here in LAX. We even have to drop our stuff at the hotel. I hope you don't mind the wait."

Andy: "Taxis suck. Don't worry, one of my employees will pick you up. The van will be on its way."

Whew... we thought we'll be stranded in this busy airport forever.

Takuma: "Thanks."

I informed the two that one of Andy's employees will lend us a hand. It's just a matter of waiting here, observing some people gleefully walking along. And then I'm kinda envious seeing one reuniting with his family. Makes me think of Japan.

Around 20 minutes later, a customized van arrives, with the logo of Andy's shop on it. Oh thank goodness.

I instructed the driver to take us first to the hotel, just to check in and drop our stuff. He complies, and we are facing another problem.

TRAFFIC JAM.

Seriously?

Owen: "Good thing London isn't this bad."

Maria: "So the legends are true."

After that little predicament, we managed to arrive at the hotel just nearby Beverly Hills. We made a quick check-in and just left our luggage in our suite room. No time to lose!

The driver then takes us to Andy's place at full speed... literally. He is a good driver, able to scramble past the traffic.

We arrived at his restoration shop, where Sir Ben's Cuda was restored. It looks nicely furnished, and even has periodicals along with car magazines to sate the customer's boredom.

And then Andy greets us, while putting on his shirt.... ummmmm... he's got better abs than me. Hehe.

Andy: "Hey! You're finally here!"

Maria: "Sorry for the delay."

Takuma: "Your shop is doing nice."

Andy: "I have to keep her running."

Owen: "How's your search?"

Andy: "Getting there. Just found out Alan's got a posse."

Takuma: "Street racers?"

Andy: "Yep. They're dominating the LA street racing scene lately, and they will join the nationwide Tuner Championship. Stakes are high, winner gets all the money in the world."

Takuma: "Any plans for that?"

Andy: "Of course I do. I need to reach Alan. Oh, I'll lend you one of my cars since you had a lot of trouble hailing a cab. So why not let me save you from that? Come with me."

He leads us to his garage, which is located just behind the shop. And he also told us that he is living behind the shop as well. Very convenient, I must say.

And here we are, two cars greeting us. Seeing that Viper, I got to say that Nobuyuki made an overkill on his Viper's looks. The one here looks very presentable.

17345380393_abe2d79148_c.jpg

Then he shows us his white Dodge Charger SRT8.

17778267010_4bc582dbd4_c.jpg

Maria: "We're going to use that?"

Andy: "It's my everyday ride, so do be careful. And it makes Hellcat owners cry back to their mommas. Just last week, I managed to outrun a Challenger Hellcat in a quarter mile with it. Put that jerk into his place."

Owen: "Supercharged?"

Andy: "You must be aware of the strictest rule I ever came up with."

Takuma: "Which is?"

Andy: "No blowers. The Charger makes 726 horsepower without supercharging."

Well, a naturally-aspirated engine is king when it comes to responsiveness. Seriously, why need a turbo or a supercharger in a large engine with so much torque?

I took a peek, and.... the car has an automatic gearbox.

17343288384_b1a758ef5a_c.jpg

Andy: "Pardon me. 'Murica loves automatics."

Takuma: "It's no big deal. Who are we to complain? Thanks for lending this to us."

************************************************************

Location: Hotel in Beverly Hills
Time: 10 pm

After the brief rendezvous, and as well as Andy treating us for dinner, the three of us went straight back to our hotel, with the white Charger. I won't mind roaming around the streets of LA using it.

While we were busy arranging our stuff in the suite room, my laptop on the desk sent a Skype alert. It's Rob. What does he want?

Takuma: "Rob! How's my cue ball?"

Rob: "My head is still that shiny? Gotta work on that one. Thanks for reminding first thing in the morning."

Takuma: "Something happened?"

Rob: "You're now in LA, right? Is Andy doing fine?"

Takuma: "Yep. Large and in charge."

Rob: "Listen to me, the three of you are on a mission."

Takuma: "So we're MI6 agents now? GREAT!"

Rob: "That's bollocks. Anyway, Alan is leading a street racing group, and his conquest is quite dominant."

Takuma: "Andy filled us with that."

Rob: "But little does he know is that his best friend is doing whatever it takes to get his hands on the prize. The Tuner Championship is said to be prestigious. Alan has a longstanding record of speeding, obviously because of his car being created under the VGT program. But you have to watch out two of his munchkins."

He then uploads dossier files of those people in question. An Asian man and a Caucasian woman.

Rob: "Randy Cho - half-American, half-Korean university friend of Alan. Acts as a right-hand man. Then this sweet-looking lass is named Jade Barrett. Her sweetness is Alan's weapon in attracting sponsorship deals, and sometimes she acts as his secretary of sorts.

Both of them are under minimal observation by the FBI, but even so, they can prove a hindrance on our part.

Alan is allegedly responsible for sabotaging and even at one point, blowing up a garage just to thin out the competition. Money makes wonders, for sure."

Takuma: "And Kaz is approving of this."

Rob: "Not really. I'm observing him as well, and latest intelligence reports claim that he has yet to make contact on Alan. Something fishy is going on. Alan might be taking matters on his own hands."

Takuma: "We're going to catch the big fish soon enough. Thanks for filling us in, mate. Have a nice day."

The conversation ends. Now at least we have the reason to start. Maria then comes out from the room, probably curious.

Maria: "Who are you talking to?"

Takuma: "Rob. He filled us in with intel. Alan is going to pull off something big in this country. It's our job to stop him."

Owen: "But Alan is Andy's best friend."

Takuma: "Andy has no choice but to sell him out. He cannot tolerate this at all."

Maria: "That's true. If I were Andy, I'd cut off ties. Best friends aren't supposed to be like that."

************************************************************

Meanwhile, at midnight...

...parts of the freeway were closed off by street racers. Multitude of tuned cars arrive and show off.

Then on the other side, a race is going on.

17345370983_8c6493413b_c.jpg

A silver Hyundai Genesis displays an astounding performance. The rear-wheel drive Korean sports coupe proves itself to be a force to be reckoned with.

17962756892_c9c37dd449_c.jpg

The car emits a wastegate sound, meaning that it packs a lot more punch thanks to turbocharging.

Crowds cheer as it crosses the finish line first, scoring another victory.

17939426776_88f60c434a_c.jpg

After taking the prize, the driver, a muscular Korean American named Randy Cho immediately meets up with Alan.

17939424906_b3e83caff0_c.jpg

Alan: "Great work. We're getting close to getting an invite for the tournament."

Randy: "I want the piece of the action too, bud. That championship will be my stepping stone."

Then a souped-up Mustang arrives. Stepping out of the car is a woman with long blonde hair and wearing sunglasses. Her sleeveless shirt adds to her appeal.

17965863665_8bfe4f6afa_c.jpg

Randy: "Jewels."

Jewels: "Got some great news! We've got invitations... for the Tuner Championship!"

Alan: "See? I know we can get in there. Our cars are just too much for those losers.

The Mirage will soon be feared. Keep that up and eventually we'll have everything in control."

End of Page 1

Page 2: Wake-Up Call

Location: Shiny Metal Restoration Shop
Time: 10 am, the next day

We managed to wake up early today. And now that Rob has briefed us for our task, we set out and meet Andy again, who just opened his shop.

He let us in, and then takes some time in changing the Charger's tires. Upon finishing, I told him about our current situation. Upon hearing that, I can tell Andy is troubled.

Maria: "You'd still save your friend despite all these circumstances?"

Takuma: "Good question."

Andy: "I... don't know. You'd think Alan sunk that low?"

Takuma: "He will do everything to make the Vision GT succeed. You knew how he gets things in his way."

Andy: "Then there's the possibility of him turning on against Kaz."

Maria: "Sigh... oh friends these days. There are just quite a handful who are true to you."

Andy: "I also asked help from someone, and he's the reason why I know where Alan is."

Maria: "Then why are you not acting upon it?"

Andy: "Because there is a risk of losing him."

Takuma: "You have a choice now, Andy. Your friend? Or the lives of aspiring racers?"

I expect that he won't give the answer right away. And so, he instead breaks the ice.

Andy: "Hey listen, there is an open track-day event in Willow Springs. It's just 45 minutes away from here. You can have fun with the Charger and who knows maybe you can find him and his cronies too."

Maria: "Great idea! And an opportunity to prove ourselves worthy to enter the championship!"

************************************************************

Location: Willow Springs

The three of us just leave Andy to decide. Besides, I'm quite curious on how modern American Muscle cars perform. In the past Motoring Weekly episodes, we concluded that most are just power-hungry machines.

The event was sponsored, and surprisingly the entrance is free. So we just give it a go. Oh, Maria and Owen are inside the car. A fully-loaded car can be a challenge.

First impressions? Being a tuned car, I can tell Andy sorted everything, including the chassis.

17800746318_730887abda_c.jpg

Takuma: "Oh, the body roll is completely gone. Though I can still feel the weight from the steering wheel."

Maria: "Uhhhhh.... we didn't gain weight, did we?"

Owen: "I've been cycling recently!"

And then the car's power just dominates. Even an F40 cowers in fear.

17802376579_2f51963c47_c.jpg

In the main straight, its ability to shame Hellcats is unquestionable. Mind you, it doesn't have any form of forced induction as Andy strictly adheres.

17962169416_61d9cb7f71_c.jpg

Not a bad car in terms of handling. While not close to let's say, a Lotus Evora or a Mazda RX-7, but I can feel a huge improvement given how heavy this car is.

Owen: "So this is what an American Muscle can do, huh? But I wonder why only a few of them grace in UK's roads."

Location: Los Angeles
Time: 10 pm

At this hour, everyone must be in their homes, not that it's a curfew but one has to rest up to be able to face the next day's worth of work.

But one still has the energy, and is off to visit a certain someone.

17989348261_935a1b65dd_c.jpg

17366018584_1167238286_c.jpg

Pretty sure, the ZR1 is far from stock.

One would wonder why it stopped in front of Andy's home. Probably he's expecting him as a guest.

17988607125_a7af6c1c45_c.jpg

The car honked its horn, prompting Andy to look by the window. Upon knowing his visitor, he goes downstairs and greet.

Andy: "Mr. Crawl!"

Stepping out of the car is a middle-aged man, with brown skin and wearing a long-sleeved collared shirt and slacks.

Sgt. Cross: "It's Cross."

Andy: "What brings you here?"

Cross could only shake his head and put his arms on his waist.

Sgt. Cross: "Why aren't you making a move? You asked help from me, in exchange of your info about Alan. I was the one who located him, but look at you."

Andy hangs his head down.

Andy: "Ugh..."

Sgt. Cross: "You've got to act on it, Andy. You two may have outwitted me before, and now your friend will outwit both of us."

Andy: "I don't want to hurt him..."

Sgt. Cross: "Well what are you going to do? Talk? Men aren't like that. How many garages do you need to be seen blown up before you reach him, huh? Lives are already at stake here. What if he blows up your shop to smithereens? Begging is not the way.

You have no choice but to double cross, and sell him out. You have your limits on how much would you go for your friend.

Andy: "All right... if you insist. I'll stop Alan in full force, no matter what it takes. Words are starting to get useless."

Sgt. Cross: "Hmph. Good! Good! That's the Andy Midfield I know. You walk the talk."

Then Cross throws a piece of paper that Andy managed to grab hold on, showing another newspaper article about another tuning garage that got burned down.

Sgt. Cross: "I did my part. This time, you do yours."

Cross gets in his Corvette and leaves. Andy reads the article, and could not believe that his best friend would resort to such horrible act.

Page 3: Back To The Scene

The next night, Andy heads out after closing his shop, feeling the need to gather his thoughts. The truth keeps on hitting him.

Andy: "Alan, how could you?"

However, his silence is interrupted by a call from one of his friends - named Rachel Keller.

Andy: "Eh? That's a name I haven't heard for quite a while..."

17834348200_142681084b_c.jpg

Andy: "Hello?"

Rachel: "Andy! Finally you've answered! Hey, how about a little rendezvous? There's some action nearby where you are."

He had withdrawn from street racing for a long time after the rigging incident. Though he has no choice but to meet her, for old times' sake.

Andy: "Oh okay. Sure."

Rachel: "You sound hesitant."

Andy: "No, I'm fine, really. It's been a while."

17835765479_7e477bcc83_c.jpg

Then he sees plenty of modified cars parked along the way. For him, it was quite nostalgic.

Andy: "This could be it."

18021994875_32e41d33d0_c.jpg

Upon arriving, Rachel immediately hugs him. She is a close friend, and sometimes a rival.

Rachel: "You've gotten bulky! Mark Wahlberg much?"

Andy: "Ahahahahaha! And you, sexier than ever. It's been a long time."

Rachel: "Yeah. I'm watching and sometimes take part in the action as well. But look."

She then points out Randy Cho at a distance.

Andy: "Randy Cho? He used to be Alan's geeky fan from college."

Rachel: "He's now Alan's right-hand man. They are conquering the streets, one-by-one taking down rival crews. I suspect that they're behind those tuning shop fires recently as well."

Andy: "Huh? How'd you come up with that?"

Rachel: "I knew what happened two years ago. I am just among the few who knows the truth. Alan finds it easy to thin out the numbers. I told this to Melissa as well. By the way, how's things with both of you?"

Andy pauses for a brief silence, for it's still a sensitive matter.

Andy: "Just had a closure."

Rachel: "I see. Hey, you wanna cheer up? How about racing Randy there? He's looking for a showdown."

Andy: "Hold on a sec."

He then contacts Takuma, informing his whereabouts.

Andy: "Takuma! Get in the freeway! There's a scene going on, and we can get info on Alan."

Takuma: "All right. I'll just leave these two lovebirds watching a movie at the suite. I'll be right there."

Without even saying a word, Takuma leaves the hotel in a blitz.

17401475383_c5a7460d0d_c.jpg

Really? Another street race? Why is it I get more involved the more I hate it? But I simply cannot say no. It may be the chance to look for Alan.

18021991635_ccf9e991b0_c.jpg

I have arrived. And I gotta say, the scene in Daikoku Futou parking lot in Japan is much better. No offense meant.

I managed to spot Andy, talking to a woman. The crowd's quite noisy as well...

Takuma: "Andy!"

Andy: "Man, you're fast!"

Takuma: "Seen Alan already?"

Andy: "Not yet, but we can get info from that man over there."

He points at a broad Asian man who is having a nice time with those scantily-clad ladies. Wait, that's Randy Cho according to the dossier. Oops... he managed to recognize us. He's coming.

Randy: "Well well well, look at who we have here. Andy Midfield! You popped out of nowhere!"

Andy: "You're still sticking up to Alan, I see."

Randy: "I work for him. And my crew is officially in the Championship. Any plans of entering?"

Andy: "There might be."

Randy: "You belong to some bimbo racing team that feels like you're heroes?"

Andy: "I do. And life has gotten better ever since."

Randy: "Really? Surely you must have the skills of a pro by then."

We are not some bimbo racing team, you know? You'll see...

Andy: "I knew what happened two years ago."

Randy: "You're still sputtering out that crap? Come on, move on! Don't let this party down!"

Andy: "You and Alan can never run away from the truth. Never."

Randy: "You're a pastor or something? We don't need killjoys here."

Andy: "Where's Alan?"

Randy: "Never gonna tell. I have the right to remain silent."

Andy: "Why don't we settle this right way? The proper way? So that everyone will know who's pro?"

Randy: "Sure! Two laps."

Suddenly, I feel the urge to race. Why is my pride kicking in?

Takuma: "I'll do it."

And my response surprised many, seeing me as an unfamiliar face around here. Besides, I'm quite curious how the locals race.

Randy: "Who are you?"

Takuma: "His teammate. No need to ask how I popped out."

Randy: "Coming from a nobody... you're quite brave."

Takuma: "Let's go."

Then we lined up, and the car I'm driving still surprised everyone.

Randy: "I thought you're into your beloved JDMs and those drifting cartoons? Why an American Muscle?"

18022805441_a90bd91e34_c.jpg

Takuma: "I just love cars."

Randy: "My Hyundai can shame any Mopar or GM fanboys out there."

A Genesis 3.8, huh? Created to rival Nissan's Fairlady Z.

Takuma: "Hyundai..."

Randy: "You're an enemy of my country. Prepare yourself. It'd be better if you throw everything at me, including the thing you guys love doing most."

Now you're bringing up a global issue? Full points for patriotism. All right, you asked for it. I'll give you everything I got - as long as you keep your eyes open and be close enough to see me.

We get back in our cars, and one of those bikini-clad girls yells the countdown.

"3... 2... 1... GO!!!"

18022803411_eac3d3074a_c.jpg

Let's start! And I can see the crowd cheering, probably for Randy. But I don't care. You'll get to see who you're meddling with.

18021986525_c68dac408a_c.jpg

This Charger rocks. This ain't just a big family sedan.

But I let Randy take the lead, and see if he lives up as Alan's right-hand man.

17834075598_34caef275e_c.jpg

Randy: "Heh!"

18022798961_519fc3b254_c.jpg

Randy: "American Muscle... all it cares is about going straight!"

Really? Is that all you got? No wonder I don't see so much rave reviews about the Genesis. You don't even know which line to take! Oh wait, you're a street racer. Orthodox methods are out of your vocabulary.

17399397584_543af648de_c.jpg

Time to end this crap quickly. I'm done with you.

17834070818_1d185edefa_c.jpg

Randy: "Damn!"

How ironic that a heavier car stands a much better chance of winning. It's the final lap. Time to give the full beans.

Andy: "Now that's a proper sleeper."

Rachel: "Wow. You just said he's your number 1 driver?"

17834329170_fe1d5fde49_c.jpg

And just to make things more interesting for you, allow me to show you Japan's finest art!

17834067778_2487f3f856_c.jpg

I hope the smoke won't make you go blind and crash.

End of Page 3

There's vintage Takuma, even when he's doing the thing he hates with a passion he still remains composed. And of course, his rival has learned that the hard way...

Page 4: Smoked

Out of my way. I'll show you how to get things done!

17452130713_0840bc9bfa_c.jpg

Randy: "What the...? Your people love showboating, don't you?"

Eat all of the smoke. It's tasty... Though I cannot perform clutch kick because it's an automatic, the Charger's torque alone makes it easier to initiate a drift.

18069309952_dcd1d52730_c.jpg

(Background Music: Speed - Atari Teenage Riot)

17886422779_060100e89d_c.jpg

Drifting is a respected driving style. Why? Because it shows how one controls the car at the very limit!

Randy: "Nonsense. I can do that too!"

Imitating me? Go ahead. I'm testing you.

17884745058_5cbe54473d_c.jpg

Or perhaps the smoke coming from the Charger distracts you too much.

17450061444_2df481ffb0_c.jpg

Randy: "He drifts faster!"

What's going on? Do you know the rules of the "Tsuiso Run"? Where's your big mouth eh? If you are his right-hand man, then you give me a hint on how your boss sucks!

18069300102_6b2e596c9b_c.jpg

Randy: "Damn you... enough of your tricks! You are messing with the wrong crew!"

17452117533_5726068a74_c.jpg

Oh look at you. Your angle's messed up. As far as I know, pros don't get desperate immediately.

And... the Hyundai spun out. I am kinda feeling the humiliation you'll face later on.

17884735888_e53aaaa49a_c.jpg

17450053374_99e2ae33a3_c.jpg

Just as Andy said, you and Alan can never run away from the truth. And that happens from this very moment!

18046164956_2e2a9be501_c.jpg

I approached the finish line, showing off a 180 degree turn.

17452110033_9b463817ba_c.jpg

And then stick my left arm out, and raised my middle finger. Hehehehe...

Andy: "That's Takuma-san for you. He's got balls."

The crowd cheers, while at the same time surprised that they are seeing a new victor.

And the car performs to my expectations. Good job there, Charger. Andy knows his American Muscle cars very well.

************************************************************

I returned immediately to the hotel, as we didn't manage to interrogate Randy Cho. Probably to avoid the jeers. All respect has been lost.

However, since I am still awake thanks to my adrenaline still pumping. I opened up my laptop and access Skype to report to Rob what happened. Surely it's morning in UK right now, and he's at work.

Success! He's pretty much idle on his desk...

Rob: "Oh thankfully someone to talk to."

Takuma: "Miss me, eh? I know you want a piece of me. I can take off my shirt if you wish..."

Rob: "Stop. We're being dirty here. Why call me?"

Takuma: "We managed to locate and beat Randy Cho in a race, but he ran away."

Rob: "He has huge respect points from the crowd. Beating him will result to his humiliation, naturally. But have you got your way in to the Championship? It's another chance to intercept them."

Takuma: "Not yet, unfortunately."

Rob: "Worry not. I'll report that to Mr. Hiroyuki. He'll get that thing done. He knows your situation already, and he's just waiting for your feedback."

Takuma: "Thanks. Hopefully we find our way in."

There is no excuse nor reason for us to give up. You cannot run away from us, Alan. Andy will have your head for sure!

Page 5: Payback

Location: Shiny Metal Restoration Shop
Time: 11 pm, the next day

Andy is busy sorting out the equipment, and as well as replacing the old ones. He spends the whole night on that task, after he closed the shop early.

However, a visitor arrives.

17928122959_9d889e717e_c.jpg

It's just Rachel, who came from another street racing party.

Andy lets her in...

Andy: "What's up? Why visit me?"

Rachel: "I'd rather talk to you than just watching posers in their ricer machines. Good news though, Randy does not show up anymore."

Andy: "Streets are back to normal, but it will be tough to look for him."

Rachel: "Why not bring back the good old days? Both of us can start a new crew."

However, before Andy can answer, he hears multiple beeps. Without any hint of hesitation, he grabs Rachel and then they jump out at the exact moment of the explosion.

Andy uses his body to cushion her fall, injuring him in the process.

Rachel: "Andy! Are you okay?"

Managing to stand up with a broken left arm, he just watches his shop in blazes. All the hard work his father have done were immediately consumed by the flames.

Rachel: "No..."

Rachel then helps him out, carefully entering him in her car.

Rachel: "I'll take you to the hospital."

************************************************************

Location: Takuma's suite room, Beverly Hills

Okay... time to hit the hay. The three of us finished watching another movie, with Jason Statham in it. Just to add fun, we imagined Rob doing everything in those scenes, and I dubbed his voice, hehehehehe...

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Could be Andy.

Upon checking, it is him. I think he has a lead.

Takuma: "Hello?"

Andy: "I'm at the hospital right now, in a room. I'll be staying overnight due to my injury."

Takuma: "Why? What happened?"

Andy: "The shop blew up. All my father's hard work... gone."

This could be another one of Alan's doings. He is the most diabolical figure I've ever encountered!

Takuma: "We'll be there!"

I ended the call and reached for my coat.

Maria: "Where are you going?"

Takuma: "To the hospital."

Maria: "Why?"

Takuma: "Andy got injured. The shop blew up. Let's go."

Upon leaving, I called Andy again and gave me the directions to the hospital. We managed to find it with little effort.

We got into his room, and I immediately got appalled at the sight of Andy lying on the bed with a cast on his left arm. He is visibly depressed, and definitely upset.

Rachel: "Thank god you came."

Takuma: "What happened?"

Rachel: "I stopped by the shop and we had a little talk, until Andy grabbed me and jumped out at the moment of explosion. I'm not hurt, but Andy... I'm sure he's upset right now."

Andy: "Alan..."

Maria: "I'm sure you're blaming him for this."

Andy: "He'd never be satisfied in his quest for power."

Takuma: "How heartless of him thinking it's just easy to dispatch you and the competition.

Now, will you rise up and have payback? This isn't about friendship anymore. You have to think of your own pride and protect it!"

Kazunori! How many lives do you think that need to suffer before you achieve your goal? First, it's Dennis, and now this! If Hiroyuki-san slapped you, then I'll keep on punching your face until you lose all of your teeth!

Takuma: "We'll do this the hard way. Let us show Alan what Dream Alliance is capable of. We've toppled both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Nurburgring, so let him see the extent of our power.

But I'll give you the honor, of teaching Alan a lesson."

I can see Andy's new resolve from his face. He wiped off the tears, and clenched his fist. There you go! That's the spirit!

Andy: "I'm ready. Once I got this thing off, I will show no mercy. He took away my living, and my father's pride. I'm not letting him run away!"

************************************************************

Meanwhile...

Alan has heard of the incident, and obviously is satisfied.

17926628500_1443db755f_c.jpg

Alan: "I didn't carry out an order, but a proactive person is very efficient indeed. At least a big thorn has been taken out."

17928119309_b41813742c_c.jpg

Alan: "Soon enough, even Kaz will fear me. I will take the helm. He's rather too soft."

Even in hiding, he is very much aware of the current events. And those prompt him to take action.

Page 6: Indy Showdown

Damn... Alan Long can simply dispatch his dear friend just like that? He's not what one could call a "best friend", you know?

Now Andy is feeling the rage. He's finally hit by the reality. Sorry to say, but the demise of his father's shop is a proper wake-up call. He could have easily avoided it if he acted promptly.

And then it's now time to act. Rob informed us that Hiroyuki-san secured our entry in the Tuner Championship, to be held in Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Quite far if we're going to drive.

For the next day, Andy got discharged, and he'll have that cast on his arm for who knows how long. We escorted him until we arrived at his home. It's just an appalling sight, the shop was completely obliterated, and we see some employees coordinating with the police and fire officials.

I see Andy just stopped and stare. I know that feeling... all your hard work and pride disappeared in one single blow.

He wouldn't cry, but I can tell that he has deep sorrow and anger within him.

Andy: "Let's go to my house. I can't stand here any longer."

I understand. So we just followed him all the way to his garage.

Andy: "Don't you mind if one of you will drive the Viper for the event?"

Maria: "That's why we're here! To help you out in any way we can."

Takuma: "For now, just do the watching. You can come with us to Indy if you want, but you can only be an audience, and help out on how to drive your car."

Andy: "No problem. I can recover with my will."

************************************************************

Location: Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Time: 3 pm, two days later

We took a plane to Indy, with Andy's Viper in it. Hehehehe.... I'm sure it won't take up too much space for your luggage, folks.

We arrived the day before the main event, and that provided us time to set up the car. I'm familiar with the track since I raced there once.

That day passed by quickly and then the next came...

18145471702_dbb3421479_c.jpg

Maria: "Man, it's so loud here! Too many tuned cars to see!"

The event is underway, and we're just waiting for our turn to race. We have the leisure of watching some races for a while.

17961288450_6dc1bb6db6_c.jpg

Then we return to our tent to help ourselves with refreshments. However, as I snooped around for the car, I notice someone about to go under the chassis. I immediately caught him, and it's Randy!

Takuma: "Randy!"

Too bad, you cannot run away from me, punk. He is about to stand up and attempt to fight back, but I simply tossed the empty soda can and kicked it, sending it to his face. It's enough for distraction, then run up to him. He takes out a punch, but I parried it and I used my knee to strike his gut. To top it all off, I side-tossed him. Heh, I learned that from Ronda Rousey, you know?

Takuma: "Hurt much? Your ribs shall be fine in weeks."

Suddenly, a middle-aged man arrives and helps him up, and then put handcuffs on Randy.

Randy: "Ahh... ahhh.... Not again, Crock!"

Sgt. Cross: "It's Cross."

Naturally, that commotion attracted the attention of everyone.

Andy: "Mr. Crawl!"

Sgt. Cross: "Your shop's blown up to bits. Good thing you finally came to your senses and beat the crap out of this punk."

Andy: "Heh, take him away."

The man put Randy in the police car and leaves the scene. All right, people, nothing to see here anymore.

Owen: "What happened?"

Takuma: "Randy Cho attempted to sabotage Andy's ride. I'll check on it before we race."

Maria: "That loser? Desperate times call for desperate measures indeed."

I got to work, and got some tools to check if there's anything tampered with. Thankfully there's none. Good thing I acted soon.

An hour later, we were called. We are to face against Jade Barrett. What a nice twist of fate.

Maria: "I'll drive."

Andy: "It has 800 horsepower."

To scoff that off, Maria simply winks her eye and smiles at our injured teammate.

Maria: "I play with my father's One-77 all the time.... and I can drive stick."

All right. No problems detected from the car, and we're all set.

(Background Music)

17528411483_d2b08ed142_c.jpg

And they're off! I leave it up all to you, Maria.

18150109541_4015fc0962_c.jpg

Jade Barrett - known as Jewels in the street racing circle. She's seen as a precious gem by many thanks to her gentle personality, but she's a speed demon, and that's how she once became a Blacklist racer in Rockport City until her arrest.

17526386664_b20b705d13_c.jpg

17528406143_03c3083442_c.jpg

But there's no reason for Maria to lose, am I right? I gotta admit my defeat to her last time.

17528404443_474a72ffd3_c.jpg

Whew... I gotta stretch myself. At least I got some workout a while ago.

On my way back to our tent, I see a very familiar face... one of my greatest rivals I've encountered.

TAKUMA SATO!!!

Takuma: "Sato..."

Takuma Sato: "What a pleasant surprise! Hehe! You're a participant?"

Takuma: "Yep. And how are you doing?"

Takuma Sato: "Practicing here for the next round of Indy 500."

Takuma: "On top of your game as usual."

Takuma Sato: "I'm up for Round 3, you know?"

Heh, really? I'm afraid now's not the time, Sato. I have so many things to take care of. I have to whoop Kaz before any side quests.

Takuma: "As much as I want to, but I have a lot of things to attend to. Besides, at this rate, I think I still won't be able to keep up with you."

End of Page 6

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

Announcer:"Takuma VS Takuma will commence shortly after the battle of Andy VS Jewels!"

Takuma:"It would happen in the distant future i think..."

The writer gets to decide. And do you see any Indy 500 cars in the scene? :sly:

Plus, did you read everything? Why would someone with an injured left arm take the wheel?

Page 7: Decoy

Takuma Sato: "What makes you say that? Our last race, you had me sweating all over."

Takuma: "That's true, but I was too hasty back then, and spun out at the last leg. I still have so much to learn at this point."

Takuma Sato: "Me too. Anyway, the blue Viper over there. Isn't that from your team?"

Takuma: "Yeah. Belongs to my teammate. We're here to look for someone."

18001660510_8dd1ee8f23_c.jpg

Takuma Sato:
"I see. Well sorry to cut this short, but I have to go. Nice seeing you again!"

Someday, Sato... Someday...

Back to the race in hand, it seems that Maria is playing around. Maybe she's aware on how Mustangs move.

18162890446_1417877941_c.jpg

Maria: "Oh Mustangs... muscle car for the masses, indeed. But it ain't special!"

18185780192_c7cc1d2752_c.jpg

I think Maria is bored, that she finally had enough at the start of the third lap.

18001513688_904de1b77b_c.jpg

Maria: "Sorry girl, your car can't put all of its power to the ground."

Good thing Ford has finally learned their lesson and implemented Independent Rear Suspension in the new Mustang. Previous generations are just... bad.

18162886356_d856f33596_c.jpg

Just like that, the Mustang spins out of control. The rear live axle is simply archaic.

18001510388_779f659869_c.jpg

While good at drag racing, it's not up to the task of continuous cornering. Andy even hates Mustangs.

18003161839_51606eb761_c.jpg

The result is expected. Time to go. We're not really here for the prize money nor trophy. The real prize is Alan, which sadly isn't here as well.

18003159909_c879857d32_c.jpg

Maria: "Woohoo! We won again!"

Then I instructed Maria to return immediately, as we will leave the track premises. Though I can say that we accomplished something, which is to take in Randy to get info.

************************************************************

Location: Andy's home, Los Angeles
Time: 10 am, the next day

We managed to fly back to LA immediately after the event. We don't need the reward there.

The next morning, Andy summoned us.

Andy: "Thank you for coming. I have a piece of good news."

Maria: "What good news? You found Alan?"

Andy: "It turns out that Alan is staying put here. According to Randy, he and Jewels were sent there as decoys, so that he can conquer LA's streets without us meddling in. Jewels, on the other hand, provided everything she knew in exchange of her freedom.

She told that Alan plans to thwart Kazunori and take over the Vision GT Project. He formed his street racing crew, and planned to grow it as a bigger decoy for us, while he takes over the project from behind the scenes.

Takuma: "Quite a smart move by Alan."

Andy: "Alan won't let go of LA immediately though. I can tell. He's working for it in years."

Takuma: "So what are we waiting for?"

Andy: "Yeah. Let's get Alan. I've learned my lesson."

Suddenly, I've got a call. It's Rob again.

Takuma: "Deckard Shaw!"

Rob: "I despise that name in living memory. Anyway, I have a juicy info that just came in. I am packing my things as we speak."

Takuma: "What?"

Rob: "Kazunori is in Japan."

Really?! He finally came out of hiding!

Takuma: "Why? He knows that our headquarters is also in Germany. We are basically within his grasp."

Rob: "Intelligence reports claim seeing Kazunori back in his office doing the usual chores as if he had done nothing wrong. Hiroyuki-san also knows of this, and is flying there as of this moment."

Takuma: "We will be staying in LA for a bit more. We're going to stop Alan."

Rob: "Why is that so?"

Takuma:
"Because he's plotting against Kazunori. He plans to take over the Vision GT Project. I can't stand someone biting the hand that feeds him."

Rob: "All right. I'll take care of Kazunori for a while, but you need to come over to Japan as well."

Takuma: "Yeah don't worry. But there is one person who's the best match for Kazunori."

Rob: "Who do you have in mind?"

You should know that, Rob. Heh.

Takuma: "None other than Takanori Kanonji. Biggest fan turns on against his greatest idol."

3rd Year Anniversary Special - Part 1

Hello readers! Man, I cannot believe that it's been 3 YEARS since I posted the first page of my first ever title of my Gran Turismo fan fiction. I never thought that it would last this long! Though it's just a month overdue to celebrate this, hehehehehe....

This special, 2-part post is my gift to all of the readers, long-time and new alike, just to jog their minds and as well to provide a clear and brief understanding of the story so far. For those who are new here, this post will be important to you as it will save you from the trouble of reading all of my titles starting from the GT5 Race Reports. But just remember that if you have any trouble about the pace and have questions, feel free to ask, and I'll provide you with references and links.

So let me start with...

GT5 Era (April 2012 to December 2013)

- Takanori's Beginnings -

Takanori Kanonji, a typical high school student living a normal life. His daily chores would be going to school, helping out his mother, Tomoko, and playing Gran Turismo. He would go on with these activities believing he's just contented in helping out in his small family business.

But that thought will change forever as he bumps into a very affluent school girl named Makoto Kurosawa. The young woman is then surprised to hear Takanori's full name, and then makes an effort to get to know him as it turns out that their fathers were once best friends in the world of racing. She invites him to dinner and her father Gan Kurosawa immediately expresses his interest to immerse the young man to the world of racing. Takanori hesitates, but Gan assures him that he would have a much better life coming out of this.

And that's just the start of turning over into a new leaf, as he won his very first race along with a big paycheck. From then on, Takanori revived his lost dream of being the fastest racer, inspired by his missing father, Michiharu Kanonji.

His next major race was a supercar showdown at the Nurburgring GP. Takanori then meets Axel Eisenberg, a racer of equal skill. The pair clashed during the race and Takanori prevailed. Unknown to him, his father was actually watching the race, revealing to his best friend, Sir Ben McCarthy (a British veteran racer who looks after Michiharu) that Takanori and Axel are half siblings.

A year later, Gan presented to Takanori a white R32 Skyline GT-R that belonged to his father for safekeeping. It was moderately tuned and Takanori was happy to keep it. Axel then arrives and meets Takanori in his home, and was in a big shock after finding out his relation to Takanori, but kept it to himself for a while.

Michiharu and Ben arrived in Tokyo, and the first order of business is to take the GT-R away. Being skilled in martial arts, Ben was instructed by Michiharu to take the car in any means possible, so that he can finally tune it to its ultimate form knowing his time would be short. Ben accomplishes the task swiftly, and the two then get to work on the car.

Upon testing the heavily modified R32 GT-R, Michiharu succumbs to his lung cancer, and is rushed to the hospital. In his final moments, he asked Kaido to fetch Takanori to see his son for one last time. Takanori arrives and the two have one short, but emotional talk until Michiharu passed on.

Powered further by determination after his father's passing, Takanori resolves to fully commit to racing using the R32. He went on winning races using it.

Moving on, Takanori goes to Germany along with Axel to further continue his racing. The pair decided to have a little track day session with a Corvette ZR1. However, a devious plan to kill Axel is behind the scenes, plotted by a French racer named Alexandre who then orders his henchman to sabotage the car. Unfortunately, Takanori is the sole driver and upon running, the Corvette's brakes malfunctioned and sent him crashing. The car explodes and Takanori is seemingly killed.

The grim news reaches Takanori's family, and Makoto breaks down as she has yet to confess her love to Takanori. However, a mysterious figure replaces him as Axel's partner - as the White Stig. This mysterious figure showed exceptional driving skill, and even protected Axel from his assailants at one point. As it turns out, Takanori is alive after all wearing that ominous white suit albeit suffering from retrograde amnesia.

Fortunately, Takanori was able to remember everything. Life returns back to normal.

- Takuma Kanonji, The Twin From The Dark -

Life seems to be back to normal for Takanori. His memories have recovered and he can continue on fulfilling his resolve.

However, another threat is looming, in the form of The Black Stig who also shows unparalleled racing skills, and seems to have an agenda to Takanori. It later turns out that Black Stig is Takuma Kanonji, Takanori's long-lost twin. The pair have been separated from a hospital fire after their birth, and Ben McCarthy took the responsibility of raising Takuma as his son who would later turn to be a man with exceptional talent.

Takuma then decides to settle things with Takanori in a dangerous mountain pass battle. Takanori prevails and then welcomes his long-lost twin to his family.

- New Chapter -

Takanori and Makoto received their bundle of joy, as they are to expect a child. Takuma, on the other hand, works hard to get closer to his family, and spends most of his time helping his mother out in the store.

However, a much bigger threat looms around, as their uncle Tatsumi plans to kill Takanori as a form of vengeance. Takuma manages to sacrifice his life for Takanori. Takanori got devastated and exacts retribution as he murders the entire Yakuza group that Tatsumi led. But Tatsumi decided to settle things fairly through a street race. It was a dangerous race with Tatsumi plotting to take out Takanori, but the latter prevailed once again. Takanori decides to let the law punish his uncle and move on.

Axel once again arrives, and decides to try out the art of going sideways called Drifting. Naturally, for a first-timer, he flunks out and Takanori decided to coach him. Later on, Axel gets the hang of the sport and becomes a drifting sensation.

Meanwhile, unknown to them, Takuma is alive. He sprang back to life just as his adoptive cousin Jenny McCarthy is about to cut him open in the embalming process. Her father named Sander McCarthy takes advantage of the situation and lets Takuma race in a rallying under the guise of Nikko Sakamoto. Eventually, Takuma faces Takanori once again, with Takuma proving the be the superior one of the two. But seeing that it isn't right, Takuma defects Sander with the approval of Jenny.

Takuma returns to Japan, in order to face Takanori again and return to his family. Ben McCarthy first reveals to Takuma that he shall be inheriting his mansion to him soon. But Takuma reassures his adoptive father that he'll never leave him.

Finally, he returns to the Kanonjis, and an emotional reunion took place. The twins have a much stronger bond since then.

Takanori and Makoto decided to move out and settle down in a luxurious condominium. Takuma promises to take care of their mother, and as well as to get closer to her.

Life once again becomes rocky for them, as another challenge arrives. Their adoptive sister, named Sayuki who is a CIA agent decides to warn the Kanonjis as their lives are in danger. Upon further investigation, it turns out that Sander is running the Grim Reapers who plan to exterminate highly-skilled racers. Sander manages to abduct his brother Ben, in order to lure Takuma out. His plan succeeds, until Ben decides to sacrifice his life for Takuma.

Enraged, Takuma almost kills Sander, and lets the authorities arrest Sander instead. To finally extinguish the threat, Takuma races in Suzuka Circuit using his adoptive father's Mazda 787B and after a perilous challenge thanks to another Grim Reaper member trying to take him out, he prevails and his assailant was put behind bars. The Kanonji Twins decide to honor Ben McCarthy as well.

- Suzuka's Fastest -

Meanwhile, another racer is about to make a name for himself. Despite his tender age, he is skilled to drive a GT500-spec racing car. That young racer is named Nobuhiko Hiramoto. His past could be said to be very depressing - his parents have divorced, and his father Hiroyuki apparently died of heart attack in racing in Suzuka.

Nobuhiko's skills gained so much attention, so much so that it even raised eyebrows of his best friend, Daisuke. Nobuhiko reveals his true nature as a racer, and shows what he claims the true skill of a GT500 racer.

Then news of Nobuhiko's exploits have reached Takanori, and he decided to test out the young man's skills. The two have a duel in Suzuka, which Nobuhiko wins.

Takanori decided to recruit Nobuhiko into his racing team, as part of the conquest for the Nurburgring 24 Hours race.

Recruitment is now underway, and time for the heroes to move to the next step...

- The Dream Alliance -

With Nobuhiko now part of Takanori's team, they decided to recruit more members for their global conquest.

Their search ended up in encountering Ricky McCarthy - an illegitimate child of Ben McCarthy and a Filipina worker. Ricky initially despises Takuma, but eventually gets in the team by successfully overtaking all cars in under 1 lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

With recruitment dealt with, they shift their focus on the Nurburgring 24 Hours. The team is then named Dream Alliance.

However, they got a shaky start as Nobuhiko encounters an unknown figure who chased him down. It turns out later to be his father. Hiroyuki works for an opposing team also to participate in that grueling endurance race.

And to top off their problems, Nobuhiko reveals to Daisuke that he is about to die, due to his stomach cancer. But then Nobuhiko keeps that knowledge away from his teammates so as not to hinder them.

Eventually, Hiroyuki lures out his son, for a duel in Suzuka. Nobuhiko fights off his disease while racing, and after prevailing he succumbs and dies right on his father's hands. It was a very emotional end, as Nobuhiko finally reunites with his father in his last breaths.

To make it all up, Hiroyuki joins the Dream Alliance, and takes on the endurance race. They are about to face off another adversary - Kazunori Yamauchi.

The 24 hour race was indeed grueling, with the team's R35 GT-R suffering a turbocharger failure. They all rely everything to Takanori for the last leg, and turns out to race Kazunori as well. Takanori and Kazunori displayed unwavering determination, but only one is the winner. Takanori slips past and emerged victorious as Kazunori's GT-R had mechanical trouble at the very last stretch.

- More Members -

Dream Alliance once again sets out recruiting more members. Takuma finds new love as well.

Back in Germany, they encounter a peculiar man named Nigel Heidelberg. With his high intellect and numerous capabilities, it turns out that Nigel is a robot created using Nobuhiko Hiramoto's racing data. The system of FIA racing registration is explained, with Nanoparticles capturing data from each driver. Nobuhiko's skill is among the top, and a group of scientists aim to exploit it by creating a group of super racers.

Eventually, Nigel discovers his origins and decides to destruct himself in order not to affect the lives of other race car drivers. His creator, Dexter was incarcerated but Hiroyuki decided to save Nigel and kept him for restoration.

Then enter Nobuyuki Hiramoto. Nobuyuki turns out to be the long-lost first son of Hiroyuki. He was abducted while he was playing with Nobuhiko during their youth. He managed to escape captivity when the hideout was burned and was assumed to be dead. Not long after, the Ishida family adopted him.

An eerie series of events were taking place at Suzuka, as Nobuhiko's Supra continues to tear up the track - without its driver.

Nobuyuki eventually reunites with his original family and decides to have a duel with his late little brother in Suzuka. Nobuyuki wins and managed to speak with Nobuhiko's spirit before finally moving on...

- Goodbye Axel, Hello Yuki -

A tuner championship takes place in USA, and Axel wants to take part. It was his lifelong dream to tinker cars. Takuma decides to help Axel realize that dream, and purchased his second FD3S RX-7. In one of its timed runs, Takuma lost control of the FD and crashed. This tested Axel's tuning know-how, and both of them managed to resurrect it in the form of the RE Amemiya FD3S.

Upon returning to Japan, Takuma encounters Yuki "Samui" Kanonji while being invited as a guest teacher of a class in home economics. His astounding trait is his mastery of the winding roads ever since he was 13 years old.

However, tragedy strikes. Axel was killed while saving a boy from being hit by the truck. He left behind his wife and an unborn child. Takuma promises to take care of them both and as well as fulfilling Axel's lifelong dream.

- The Proteges -

The Dream Alliance takes on the next challenge - the 24 Hours of Le Mans. But a group proves to be of hindrance to their plans. The group in question is The Proteges. It turns out to be a racing team once formed by Sir Ben McCarthy. They all target Takuma Kanonji for a variety of reasons, chief among which are jealousy and his defection from the team.

Dream Alliance members take them on one-by-one, until they encounter another member named Daigo Kanonji. Daigo has an agenda of his own, as he plans to exterminate his own teammates to lure out Takuma and Takanori as part of his revenge plot. He is the son of Tatsumi.

Daigo captures Takuma, and brainwashes him in order to turn against Takanori. The twins fight, and Takuma manages to fatally wound his twin. Upon hearing Takanori's love for Takuma, Takuma breaks free of the hypnosis and finishes Daigo off. Terrified of what he had done to his beloved twin, Takuma runs away and flies to Europe to cool off.

In solitude, Takuma meditates, but that didn't last long as Ricky and Nigel managed to locate him. Then one day, in a small race track in UK, they meet a man with a balding black hair and goatee - named Rob Hatch (yes, Rob had hair for once! ) and they discover that he shares the agenda of taking down the last of The Protege members - Boris Kirsch.

Rob intends to settle the score with Boris after his life being ruined thanks to a scandal. It turns out that Boris set him up, all to thin out the competition. Takuma then gets to know more about Rob, and realizes that they have a lot in common, in particular on how they love their siblings. Takuma also meets Dennis, who has similarities with Takanori.

In a grueling Nurburgring duel, Rob defeats Boris. But seeing that Boris never gave up, Takuma decides to take Rob in to the team, and continue the battle at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Then came that endurance race. It was a tough battle, with Boris employing every single method to take Takuma out. But Takuma managed to prevail thanks to the motivational words of Takanori who has finally recovered.

- Little Nobu's Return -

Hiroyuki Hiramoto, now the director of Dream Alliance, grants the entire team a rest period. During that time, they return to their other professions. Takanori, Takuma, and Nobuyuki are hosts of a motoring show, doing car reviews for both the show and the magazine.

One day, Nobuyuki was tasked to buy food from the convenience store. He encounters a silver-haired cashier named Toshiro Chouji. He discovers that Toshiro drives an AE86 Levin, and that he joins track day sessions. Intrigued, Nobuyuki invites Toshiro to a racing event, which he won easily.

It turns out, however, that Toshiro is Nobuhiko Hiramoto. His soul has been granted a new life, albeit in a different body and as well as working with Sayuki in the CIA. Before he could reveal the truth though, he is given the task to fly to Germany to investigate a string of illegal races at the Nurburging. He discovers that Boris Kirsch was the mastermind, and immediately thwarts him, though he got shot. Nobuhiko fights off the rules regarding the circumstances of his return, stating that he decides his own fate for his new life. He recovers from coma and sets off to bravely reveal the truth to his family.

The opportunity came along, as he is given another task of shutting down a syndicate. His father is targeted due to a property dispute (as Hiroyuki doesn't want criminals buying his properties). It is then revealed that Toshiro's former life was a syndicate member until he got poisoned by his peer. One night, Nobuhiko's parents were held hostage in their home, and he rushes to save them. He successfully pulls his parents out of danger and takes down the syndicate for good.

Before he can finally reveal the truth, Yuki discovers the signs of his former Senpai. Nobuhiko denies it at first, but Yuki tells his Senpai to stop lying as he can see spirits. Initially, the pair decides to keep it for themselves, until Nobuhiko finds the right time to announce his return by winning a GT500 race in Suzuka, which comes as a shock to everyone, especially that his signature tactics were being displayed. The Hiramotos finally found their utopia, something that Nobuhiko worked really hard even from beyond the grave.

- Path to Formula 1 -

After a brief period of break, Takuma has gotten an invitation from Team Lotus F1. He tags along Nobuhiko as his partner. The two had a tough training regimen as they have little experience in Formula 1. The season also proved to be challenging as well, with the two barely winning the races.

Midway, Takuma encounters his adoptive grandfather - Sir Shaw McCarthy - who turns out to harbor a grudge against his son. However, since Sir Ben has passed on, he shifted his focus on making Takuma's life miserable. Sir Shaw initially presented a facade, earning the trust of Takuma and even allowing him to ride shotgun in his Mazda Furai much to his adoptive grandson's astonishment. Eventually Sir Shaw reveals his true colors, and Takuma steps in to thwart his plans. Takuma defeats Sir Shaw, and forces him to apologize to his son's grave.

In the final round, he encounters Takuma Sato once again. In their previous meeting, their race was a draw, and the two decide to have another go at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In that epic duel, no side gave a quarter, until Takuma Kanonji spun out at the last moment, allowing Sato to win.

- On the way to the next chapter -

Takuma may have prevailed in Formula 1, but his loss against Sato shakes him. Though that didn't affect much in his life and just resolved to himself that he will finally beat him someday.

While he and the rest of his team are enjoying their long break, their vacation became an exciting one as Takuma encounters The Slashers - a collective term for highly skilled street racers across Japan.

Takuma shows disdain to street racing, but is forced to take part anyway since he doesn't back down to any challenge. He races first the WEST Corvette No. 5 in which he defeated soundly.

This draws further attention from Motoya Iwasaki a.k.a. Jintei who has been challenging Takuma even before the start of his F1 adventures. Takuma decides to accept the challenge, using the third FD3S he bought which will be inherited to his son named Shinsetsu. However, during practice, the FD broke down and in an unexpected turn of events, Sir Shaw arrives and lends his Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 for the race as part of making it up for his adoptive grandson.

Takuma puts up a great fight against Iwasaki, and overcomes the challenge. Then he delivers a speech about his hatred on street racing.

Suddenly, Yuki arrives, challenging Takuma to another duel. It turns out that Yuki is the Original Slasher and as such came up with the name. The young man aims to test his mettle against one of the fastest racers in the world.

On the day of their duel, rain heavily poured down, and to make things fair for Yuki, Takuma powers down his RE Amemiya FD3S to around 400 horsepower. This also serves another purpose to make it easier to drive on the wet road.

Yuki proved to be a formidable opponent on the touge and fog suddenly came in. Takuma had miscalculated, and what's worse the turbochargers on his FD got shot, narrowing his chances of victory. Despite the situation seemingly hopeless for Takuma, a miracle occurred as the turbos got functioning again. He charges straight through the dense fog to overtake the confused Yuki and takes the victory.

Takuma praises Yuki and assured him that their dreams will be fulfilled together. They prepare for the next string of challenges - the big one being the upcoming FIA GT3 Championship.

That's the entire summary for the GT5 Era titles. I made it as simple as possible, and it's quite a challenge to narrow it down due to a lot of titles. I did not include the Sidestories since they don't make a huge impact on the plot anyway.

Next part would be the summary of the current, GT6 Era. Thanks for reading!
