Takumi Fujiwara's Cars - New Fiesta ST wheels, AP2 I forgot to post.

Very nice choice. Great fun, these.
Thanks. I can't believe how fun it is, me being me I naturally headed straight from the dealer to my favorite canyon road and the car is a total riot. I'm in love with the little tail-out action you get when you lift coming into a corner, it's so controllable and safe but so amusing at the same time!

These are really cool little things, they're getting really high ratings by magazines lately. Always fun to see pictures of
this thing taking a corner hard and lifting a tire off the ground.

Thanks guys.

I can't wait to start taking it to more roads and especially the track. It's brutally quick from point to point on a twisty road, feels like it'll need a brake upgrade before too long though.

If I had more money to get another car (while still modding my SW20), the Fiesta ST would be it. We really need more like them in the market.

So, the stock Potenza RE050As lasted all of 3000mi, and I wasn't even running them that hard. Just ordered a set of BFG Sport Comp2s, I liked them quite a bit on the Mazda2 and got 10k or so out of them with tons of canyons and three trackdays, and that was with a camber issue that caused the tires to wear much faster than they should have.

Incidentally I'm voting the RE050A for "stupidest tires ever." Mediocre performance despite a 140 treadwear rating (although they sure as heck wore out as fast as the rating suggests), and an insane price somewhere around $250 each!

Going to AutoX the ST for the first time on Sunday, looking forward to it. It'll actually be my first AutoX ever other than some test drive events.

So the BFGs are definitely an improvement over the stock Potenzas, despite being three times the treadwear and half the price. The car is still a total riot, and the ability to pop the back end out around corners never stops being amazing, nor does how easily controlled the little slides are. It's certainly not the fastest way up or down a road, but it's a great party trick.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to autocross the car, as the list filled up before I could register, but I should be taking it to its first trackday in a few weeks, at Willow Springs' Horse Thief Mile.

E30 is sold... to my neighbor two houses down the street, so it's not going far haha! It'll actually be at my house for another week or two, he doesn't have a real driveway or garage and it needs to get smogged and registered before it can be parked on the street.

maan i nearly cry when i saw that wrecked photo of your S14 after looking at the previous photo. It looked so good, shame about the crash.

I put the Fiesta into a guardrail getting too enthusiastic on a twisty road with all-seasons still on from the winter. The damage isn't that major but it's enough to stop me from driving it for a couple weeks.

So, I'm driving the S2000 for now. Since I was driving it, I decided to throw on a set of aftermarket wheels with decent condition sporty tires that we had lying around the shop. That was Friday afternoon. Yesterday (Saturday) morning, I was driving down to Cars and Coffee, which we were attending because we just developed a new rollbar for 991 Porsche 911s and wanted to show it off to prospective customers, and almost 60mi from home I ran over a knife blade on the freeway and slashed one of the tires right open. Had to limp the car 40mi back to the shop and put my stock wheels and tires back on.

This is not a good week for me and cars. I'm going to Buttonwillow Raceway today, and don't think I'll be going anywhere near the track...

Also got to thanks Fujiwara for helping me to set up this little guy. runs great and hell of a lot of fun!

Just realized I didn't post this here. New wheels, 16x7 Sparco Terra, with 205/45/16 Achilles 123S tires.

It's been about six weeks since I got them and I really like the setup. These tires are spectacular, ride quality is better, they look cool, and I don't have to worry as much about bending my wheels, unlike the stock 17"s, which had so little rubber around them that all four were badly bent after a year and a half or so of daily driving.

Oh, also, the E36 is long gone. I left my shop job back in May and that meant no longer having anywhere to keep it or work on it. I'm back in school now, so another project car will have to wait a few years, most likely.

Woah, wait a second... did I never post the S2000 here?

Here it is at Buttonwillow a few months ago.

It's an '07, which was bought brand new by my dad, and which still only has around 25,000mi on it. As he's gotten older it's become harder and harder for him to drive it, so I've ended up with "joint custody" of it.

It's all stock at the moment, and will probably stay that way for a while. I have a Sparco Evo2 I'd love to put in it, since the stock seats sit way too high for me, but it'd make it hard for my dad on the rare occasions that he uses it. I also have another set of Achilles 123S tires waiting to go on this car, and it'll be going in for a new top in the next few weeks, since the one on it has holes in it (in the same spots that all S2000s get holes) and we have an El Nino season coming.

I'm also going to get a quote on bodywork for the Fiesta while I'm at the bodyshop for the S2000's new top, I've been driving around with a primered fender since the shunt last spring.

Woah! Nice S2000 you have! :)

The ST looks like a proper little rally car with those sparco wheels! Shame about the unintended meeting with the guard rail, accidents happen :indiff:

That S2000 though! I love those cars and that is a really nice example! You're dad and you share a great taste in cars :)
