Has anyone else seen the previews for Talladega Nights starring Will Ferrell? It looks so funny I couldn't stop laughing:lol: Can't wait till this Friday.

Yeah me too. I can't figure out why they changed the preview scene for when Ricky Bobby thought he was on fire. It used to say "Help Me Tom Cruise!" and then something about his witchcraft, and now he says "Help me Oprah Winfrey!" Did Tom throw a fit?

stoopid tom, he's godfather of the christian science mafia...pulls alot of weight

btw, I made this cause I am not funny

Could it be that he says all those things, and they just didn't show the Oprah part in the previews before? He also calls out to Jesus too, I believe.

Yeah, the movie looks hilarious. Will Ferrell can be one of the funniest actors around, if he has the right role. This looks like one of them.

Looks funny, but the whole "From the guys who brought you Anchorman" turns me off.

I hated Anchorman, just ridiculously stupid. Hopefully, this won't be that bad.

Anchorman wasn't great, but it did have its' moments for me. That dude from the American version of "Office" TV show, and "The 40 Year Old Virgin" was really funny in that, I thought. I haven't really liked him in anything else.

"Help me baby Jesus, help me Judas God, help me Tom Cruise!"

Yay, I love NASCAR, and anything Will Farrel does is just awesome. Should be great. Although origionally TN was supposed to take place in the '70s, kinda like a "Anchorman on Wheels" type of movie...

Oh well, I still love it.

I don't go to the movies as much as I used to, but I'll be watching it this Friday for sure. I love living in a small town; only $5.50 (w/ my student ID)!

Edit: changed $5 to $5.50

The commercials for most of Will Ferrell's movies just show him running around screaming (Old School, Anchorman, Talladega Nights). From that, it's hard to get a sense of the actual movie. The inclusion of a French NASCAR driver has promise, though 👍

Ya the short TV previews are hard to get a sense of what the movie will be. However I saw the full length preview before seeing Pirates and it was so funny.

Saw this last night and was laughing the whole time. Hilarious. Brilliant.

👍 👍

"I like to pictute Jesus with giant eagle wings and singing lead for Lynard Skynard"

When I was watching one of the Queensland V8 Supercars races the commentators said that one of the driver's (Greg Murphy IIRC) pit crews had put a picture of a panther inside his door skin similar to the guy from this movie.

I might watch it at some point but I don't think it's out in the UK yet.

Well, watched the movie the night it came out and well....It was hilarious! We were all laughing throughout the movie. Ricky Bobby's kids are so badass in the movie until grandma shut down the fun.

SAVE ME TOM CRUISE

Ok seriously, you guys need to watch this, ton of laughs and good action to boot!

I saw it last weekend; it was really funny even if quite campy. Plenty of racing cliches for exploiting, lots of sillyness.

Quite accurate in depicting the NASCAR Winston Cup cars, and later, Nextel Cup cars in their respective ages. Good cameos from every announcer and TV station that's recently been involved with NASCAR, even Bob Jenkins makes an appearance. Look for the shot of a Renault overtaking a Minardi, too!

I like to think of Baby Jesus as a ninja!

Pretty funny, but it was no anchorman. Wasn't a fan of the overt Applebee's placement.

i thought it was a pretty funny movie. I'm a pretty decent f1 fan so to see them make fun of F1 drivers so hardcore was hillarious for me. :D
there were some weakpoints in the movie... but overall it was good.

As opposed to the Dominoes pizza, KFC, and always tasty Taco Bell prayer?

Actually if you look back over SNL alumni films you will see many of them have heavy product placements. See Wayne's World and Austin Powers 2 for examples. They throw it in as jokes but they are still there.

And on to Talladega Nights.

I liked this movie but after he started straightening out his life it became less and less funny. It was classic when he was acting like an idiot and doing stupid stuff and there were completely off-the wall moments. That felt a lot like Anchorman, but then he became serious and so did the movie. I was sitting there and suddenly thought, "What the? There's a message to this?"

Will Ferrell isn't funny.
My sentiments exactly, but I went to see the film anyway and found it hilarious (though it wasn't Ferrel who drew the most laughs; Sacha Baron Cohen gets that trophy).
