Taming Burnout

The muscle car guy needs your help.

How do you eliminate that awful burnout from a high power muscle car that deteriorates acceleration performance? I've tried LSD, Traction Control(made it worse), even switching tires and all, but that doesn't seem to help. Please offer any suggestions.

With my modified muscle cars the standing start was always a pain but recently I´ve had a pleasant surprise while doing the muscle car cup in a stock gt500. It went trough the first gear like a charm: reached the redline went back down a little then up; little to no wheelspin.
I don´t know if I was reving the engine at the start or if I hit the gas with "start" though. Anyway in corners and the like I don´t see much of a solution... the lsd initial torque worked just fine in my rt10. Don´t know how it works in the oldies.

I hav such bad launching form with an anolog controller. I do not know how to launch successfully. I can manage 11.360 1/4 mile wit all modded 99 SVT cobra, but wen i try using analog, it brings it down to 11.745 best. Is it the settings? The technique?

FIRST OF ALL, what is the fastest time anyone got with a 99 SVT cobra? The fastest I got was with non analog 11.360 sec. 1/4 mile. I thats the best, then using analog would not imporve it.

Also, I managed a 11.421 with a 67 vette. If anyone got faster, plz post times.(be honest plz)

Does analog make that big of a difference? I only dropped 0.025 sec. off my vette time using analog.

<--- You can't stop me!!!

Yes, as previously said starting up in second gear can greatly reduce the amount of burnout, then again, it can also increase it ridiculously if you have an increadibly high powered car.

If you practice shifting on that car for long periods of time, you can get the shifting just right to the point where you can start in 1st gear and have almost no burnout.

More so then settings, it just takes practice.

Thanx for the tips guys, but im not into dragging anymore. Instead, my latest attempt is to completely drive GT2 using only sim tires.(not including rally) And it may be hard, but i will prevail.
