Starting out as a Mini 4WD car (popular in Asia and popularized by various manga and anime, such as Dash! Yonkuro and Let's and Go!!) in Tamiya's then-new Mini 4WD REV line, the Aero Avante (which also had a RC equivalent, although the Mini 4WD version unusually came out first) was selected for Tamiya's Giant Mini 4WD Project - the attempt to make a 1/1 (full size), drivable replica. The car was developed from a buggy chassis, and was displayed in MEGA WEB center in Odaiba, Tokyo - it will be shown in 2015 Tamiya Fair on November 21-22, 2015, in Shizuoka, Japan.

This was not Tamiya's first 1/1 scale replica of a Mini 4WD car - Tamiya earlier also made a 1/1 replica of Gun Bluster XTO to promote the movie of Let's and Go!! WGP.
