NIce...Why didn't you ad that green..? Makes the picture "pop" :)

My leg is healing, pics in a week or 2 ;)
It's there just tough to see in the pics due to it being all red and stuff. Depending how it looks after it heals I may have him add more in and add onto the outside.

I'll be going tomorrow to get my first tattoo done and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or insight into what I should be prepared for? I'm booked for a 4 hour session, which seems like a rather long time, is there something I should bring? I was so involved with the artist working up the design, that I didn't really ask any of these questions. Also as far as aftercare goes, what should I expect? My best guess is that it's like trying to heal a scrape but I'm not really sure.

Lunch? But in all seriousness, no. They won't need you to bring anything, and it's rude as hell to bring anything to occupy yourself with. The time will pass pretty quickly anyway.

This is dependent on where on your body it's going. As a general rule though, it'll feel uncomfortable rather than painful. A little dry, sore to touch.

Every time I've had one done I've put some Bepanthen on for a couple of days and it's worked really well. I believe it's used to treat rashes on babies. Hydrating, numbing etc. May be worth tracking down a US alternative?

Cool, thanks for the advice 👍

It looks like Bepanthen is sold through Amazon but it's shipped from the UK so it'll take a few days to get here. It looks like the closest thing in the US that's available is Eucerin, but I don't think it's exactly the same. I'm not 100% sure what a nappy rash is, but everything I look for puts me towards a product only sold in the UK.

I'm not 100% sure what a nappy rash is

= Diaper Rash.

Any over-the-counter cream for that should work, the principle is the same. You can also use Sudocrem, but it dries your skin out quickly so if it's likely to be a longer healing process you'll soon tire of it.

Got drunk a few days ago and had myself tattooed. It's only a small one to remind me where my scars were collected and took about 5 minutes. Luckily my sister's boyfriend is a tattoo artist so I was able to pay in beer.

I've always has a bit of an interest in getting a tatto, though I'm too much of a wimp to deal with the pain that comes with it.

I honestly didn't think it was anymore painful than sunburn. uncomfortable, strange and a bit stingy but not painful.

How long did it take in the end? Looks quite big.

The entire length of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (not my first choice, but it's what was one) plus about 30 minutes. So what's that? About 3-ish hours.

My mum got given Tattoo Goo when she got hers done. I'd recommend looking into that since it seems like decent stuff. She just had a tin of the original salve.

Tattoo goo is a lovely product. I as well absolutely endorse such a product. I even used the word lovely.

Thanks guys.

I actually got Tattoo Goo in mail today from Amazon, my wife found it and thought it would work well as she recently just got a new tattoo as well. So far it's keeping my arm feeling a bit more moisturized and the skin isn't as taut. It also doesn't stick to my t-shirt, which is a plus.

I've just been using Vaseline for mine. The biggest problem I've had is that because where I had the ink was already a really dry patch of skin from numerous injuries there it's been hard to keep it from drying our compared to any other regular bit of skin.
