Just a guess, but maybe the WiFi antenna might have broke. I broke mine when I took my old PS3 apart but it can break or snap in normal use.

Try using a wire to connect. I use since i play online, waaaaay better than wireless.

Mine is wired aswell, because mine had connection problems when I had it on wifi....

Same, and when i started playing PS3 i used to play CoD, so any connection issue can destroy your gameplay there.
