Test Track: Deep Forest Raceway
Best Lap: 1:09.307
Deviations: I didn't have an adjustable LSD equipped, but didn't realize it, until I was at the track in the tuning settings, and was too lazy to go buy one. I also don't waste my money on Chassis Stiffening, as I can't tell any difference before or after in any car I've tested with to date. I use Max Downforce Settings, as the gains far exceed the losses in this game.

My previous best, with this car, was a full 1.5 seconds slower on this relatively short track. Quite an improvement I must say.

Corner Entry: The Elise is a pure grip monster. You point and it goes, no questions asked. The car was very stable most of the time. Entry was solid as the car planted and rockets towards the apex without any hiccups.

Middle: The car grabs the road and follows for the most part. I did find myself experiencing the tiniest amount of mid corner understeer. A minor adjustment to help correct this issue (Undoubtedly an issue with my driving style, not your tune) and I'm confident that I can break into the 1:08's. This small, but noticeable glitch, was most prominent on the slightly longer, more sweeping corners. The smaller, quick, tight corners I didn't seem to really feel it, and the car was extremely stable through those, which tells me, that freeing up the car a bit, won't have any negative effects on the opposite corners.

Corner Exit: This car gives you quite the amount of confidence to simply drive the car into any corner, and just expect it to carry you through, regardless of what lies through the bend. Corner exit was just fine 90% of the time. Although, through my 5 lap test session, I had 2 similar issues come up, where the backend jumped out on me, just enough to send me sideways. Now, my first instinct tells me, that this shouldn't be adjusted, and it's almost definitely related to the mid corner understeer problem I experienced. I was more than likely, over turning, and when applying the gas too hard, the car snapped on me. So I wouldn't be concerned with this complaint, as I feel it's more than likely a side effect of the understeer through the center, mentioned above.

Overall the Car is great, and would only take an easy adjustment, to suit to my needs.
The first of three options I would consider, for people who drive like me and felt the same tendencies, is the ride height. Drop the Rear Ride Height to -25 to match the front, and see if that's enough to balance out the issue. If not a minor tune to the LSD should do the trick.
I would drop the De-Accel setting down about 3 and go from there, until I got the center of the corner feeling the way I prefer.

If both of those failed, or they appeared to be too much, the final thing I would try is to Drop the front Sway Bar down to 4 (from 6 as the tune states)

Try them each individually and see which suits you best, combine them, mix and match, play with the increments, find what fits you best.

Great tune for a baseline start. Also keep in mind I only tested on one track, and this issue may be specific to this track.

Hello TeamLotusGT5!

Your tune for 111RM Elise is very good but I like to drive the Elise 96, is there any chance that you do a tune for '96 Elise with race modification?. I opened a thread but nobody has answered yet

I know I'm asking too much, but if you could ...

Thanks in advance. 👍

If you send me one ;)

Cheers mate

Okay, I've already sent a car today to a friend and I've reached the limit, I will add you to the PSN and I'll send the Elise RM'96 tomorrow (TeamLotus_Europa right?)

Thanks. :)

I think my friend is giving me one, just hang on a day or two :)
If he does i'll tune it and post the tune without you having to lose your car.

Perfect, if you change your mind and you need the car, let me know and I'll send it to you.

Thank you very much! :)

Hello, I've added the TeamLotus_Europa account as instructed and I come to you guys with the hopes that you can tame my Lotus Esprit V8. I'm looking to have her be a well-performing track car. I have it modified her to the hilt and I have only the front air spoiler attached. It takes away from the clean look of the car when you add a racing spoiler. But, back to my point, the back end wants to get real loose when braking (because of the lack of the spoiler, I presume) and I can't quite get her dialed in. If the turbo has to be removed or scaled down, (I will supply all three turbos) then so be it. The next day I can send the car is the 23rd. Let me know either here or PM if this sounds good!

Send it to me on ther 23rd. I got a lot of cars to tune so it will be nice for you to send it later anyway.

I sent the Esprit tonight, a trade fell through and I decided I'd go ahead and shove her your way. Take your time!👍

Finished the Lotus, just fine tuning and cant send for a couple of days due to trade priorities.

Running really smooth considering the lack of downforce!! I surpassed myself :)

Lets hope it fits your driving style too!

Awesome, I can't wait to drive it! Worth the wait! Is there anything you want in return?

Got to send a Garaiya thing today,

For reference, to those interested, '02 Autobacs Garaiya bought from the Used Car Dealership.

Got the Garaiya back and good job on the tune, but I'm horribly disappointed in the car. Your tune shaved a few seconds off the Suzuka time from the tune I was using.

I paid 50k in the used car dealership, then spent another 100k in chassis and engine maintenance, then fully modified it only to have a car that's 6-8 seconds slower on Suzuka than an RM'd Lotus Elise.

My Opel Speedster, and Hommel Berlinette are at least competitive with the Elise, and only about 1-2 seconds slower, and they're free cars.

Very disappointed in the Garaiya. Sorry, I put you through that. I was hoping you could find something I was missing. You made it faster, but still a waste of money.

Must admit I was dissapointed. Just seemed to have no grunt, really pathetic engine. Balance was off too. Nothing can beat the lotus' :)

Yeah, I noticed where you sacrificed some cornering stability to give it better turn in, but the car wants to dart out mid-corner, if you don't maintain constant pressure on the wheel. If you get a good line, and can keep your RPM's up, the car is okay, but that much work to perform a perfect lap, and STILL be 6 seconds slower than an Elise. Each corner needs to be flawless, and the balance of the car just makes it extremely difficult.

The tune I used was slower, but more stable in turns, with a bit of understeer, but like you said, that engine just doesn't have enough grunt to push the massive 720kg chassis out of a corner. So, I was losing RPM and never recovering.
