Hello all,

I decided a few days ago to try and achieve this trophy in the game.
I read a lot about how to get the trophy on this forum and others and there are a lot of myths about it.

The best information I found was here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=134971&highlight=The+Air+of+Experience
- The Air of Experience
Raise a B-Spec driver to the peak of his career
Train a single B-Spec driver until his "career" bar is filled - this requires you to have a B-Spec driver active on your roster for 500 races, give or take a couple, whether he drives in all 500 or not. Remote Races do not count towards this trophy.

I'm posting this because I could not find a thread that didn't have myths and incorrect facts about this trophy in it.

First off, I have never (repeat never) retired any of my B-Spec drivers.
They are all Level 40, and yes their skills bars have started to fade.

I decided to use my first B-Spec driver to achieve this trophy as his career bar was 98% full.
According to his stats he's had 2476 races and 943 wins.
Most of his races have been online B-Spec racing which does not count towards the career bar.

I tried 3 nights of the Suzuka 9hr endurance race, but it didn't move his bar (I counted the pixels on my LCD TV).
So then I tried running the simple "Beginner Tsukuba" race, it's 4 or 5 laps. I ran it about 3 or 4 times (takes under 4mins to run) and I noticed his bar had moved a pixel.

After about 45mins of running this race repetitively his bar was full and I had the trophy.

So the moral of the story is this:
-only offline B-Spec races count towards the Career Progress bar
-even if your driver is loosing skills, you can use them to obtain this trophy
-it's not the XP or length of the race, but the number of races done. I've heard 500 quoted often but I'm not 100% sure.

Again I know this information is out there, but it's scattered around and a lot of time people contradict it. I've heard tons of myths like retiring a driver when they get to Level 40 because that driver will not be able to help you get the "The Air of Experience" trophy. It's simply untrue.

I hope this information helps.

It is 500 race days for the bob with the most race days. No need for 500 races if the driver is offline and other offline drivers drove b spec.

Does Bob gain XP and Carreer Bar from the new B-Seasonals?

I have 2 Bobs 50% at lvl 38 since the last 6 months. I never really B-much though, got them all gold however. I am still missing this Air Trophy, wondering if the seasonals can help get them there.

They will, yes, but it won't really help for "Air of Experience" - 1 race is 1 race however long it is and you need 500 of them.

Stick any Bob into repeated Sunday Cup races and all of your offline Bobs will gain 1 races' worth of experience for each completed race. The offline Bob with the most full Career bar will reach his 500 (he will start to lose abilities at about 420) races first, whether he's racing or not.

hmm...wish I knew this before, it's too bad all info on this is so scattered......
I retired my drivers (but kept my A.Senna for obvious reasons), I was fed up with them anyway. Created a new one.
I do agree though, it's not how hard the race is, but how many gets done, but this leads me to another question: What about that arrow? (top left, driver info) sometimes is pointing down, straight, or up. What affect does that have on the drivers career?

Also, my two drivers currently have this stats:
1st) 61/62 and 2nd)19/363 (but the bar it's not exactly half way yet)
Shall I grind the 1st driver, or take the 2nd driver to a few sunday cup races?

okay, im curious and i got a question to all those who have completed this trophy through the sunday cup. Cuz im doing it atm.
How long did it take you to get 500 races?

I am using the x2010 it laps at around 21-25 seconds per lap so 125 seconds= 2 minutes 5 seconds per race x 500 = 1047 minutes approximately 17.4 hours hope that helps.

Guys, I know this trophy has been talked over and over. A lot I must say.
From what I've read around here in GTP is that Remote Racing don't count for this trophy.
I have 6 Bob's (main level 40, the I have one level 32, other 31, other 30, other 27 and the last one 26).
Excluding the main one, the rest is shared for some remote racing.
And I saw that after getting the prizes, the win/ratio of the drivers shared that ou receive the prize increase.
Like, as example, my level 31 driver. He had 4 wins in 4 races (using the X1 in the endurance races) before I shared him.
I received his prizes once, which made his win/ratio increase to 4 wins in 13 races.
His experience bar increased as well.
My main question is, if remote racing increases the amount of races the driver does as well the experience bar, why it doesn't count towards the trophy?
Sorry about bringing this up, but this just did catch my eye.

I dont know the true answer but i know u need to race him proper for about 500 races/ GT days. You need that bar to go all the way. Rinse and repeat the easy B-Spec races if you want to nail it quick, but whats the hurry for a stupid trophy? Just play the game and use him for seasonal's for mucho monies. You will eventually get Air of Experience that way.

I got this trophy. You need to win alot of races (preferably easy races, take less time) until your grey exp bar fills up. You will notice your driver stats (speed, corner etc.) drop though by racing so many times.

I only just got this at 320 races/200 wins. I would take a pic of my bob but I sacked him as soon as I got the trophy.

I got this trophy, but I had no clue why.
Even after reading this thread, I'm still not sure why I got this trophy.
IIRC, I got this trophy after I used one of my bspec bobs to start breaking in a car engine when I had some time... I'm almost positive he did NOT win the race, as I had sat him in a Suzuki Cappucino with just a turbo added, in a Japanese 90s Bspec race.
??

You dont need to win any races with your BOB for this its just about his total carear. Its either 500 races or GT days or there abouts. So its a long time what ever way you look at it. His performance decreases toward the end that i do know as much.

I got my driver to reach level 40 and learned that my driver actually has to reach 500 wins in order to get the "The Air of Experience" trophy.

But I'm not sure if my driver's experience level will continue to increase even if he is a level 40.

So does getting this trophy depend on my driver's level? Will he stop gaining experience at level 40?

He will stop gaining xp at level 40 but races will still count towards the Air of Experience trophy.

*Note: only offline races count.

Eventually he will Start to lose Speed and Strength. That's when you know you're getting close.

If your trying for the trophy in a hurry forget it. Just grind easy B-spec races for wins. You need 500 GT5 days to get the trophy. You get one win a day wether its 24 hour race or Sunday Cup. Getting to level 40 was about half way through the Bob's life cycle. I never retired my Bob i still race him even though he has a zimmer and pipe. Slippers to the metal !

There is no need to win. 500 race days offline or seasonals is all it takes.
Even when you use other bobs, all the bobs offline will gain race days. When the experience or career bar (depending on region) is full, you'll be given the trophy.
Take your time unless you are platinum ready.

A friend of mine recently asked me how to get this trophy (The Air of Experience) and while I'm not a big fan of trophy hunting myself, and I have not gotten this trophy yet either, but checking various trophy guides there doesn't seem to be a solid consensus.

So when this thread popped up in a search I thought (based on the title) I would finally be able to give him a definite solution, but now I'm not so sure.

From what I can tell the following are true:

  1. The experience bar must get filled on one of your B-spec drivers to get the trophy.
  2. The experience bar is increased when a driver wins an offline B-spec race.
  3. All of your offline drivers earn experience whether they are the one that won the race or not.
  4. The length and or difficulty of the race does not effect the amount of experience earned.
  5. Remote Race and Seasonal Event race wins do not increase a driver's experience.
  6. If only one driver is offline, it takes 500 offline race wins to fill the experience bar.
  7. It is possible to fill a driver's experience bar without it ever winning a race.
  8. B-spec drivers that reach level 40 can still gain experience, and thus still be able to fill their experience bar and earn this trophy.

Is this correct?

So practically they age too much for racing in 500 races?...ugh...:ouch:

i've got this wonderful driver B. Robles at 50% exp,lv 40!!
...
so what you guys're saying is:i'll have to retire him after 250 more offline/seasonal races because he'll reach his 65 years old,ask for retirement?

500 races to age more than 30-40 years is just...weird to me,and sad.:guilty:

Except the word "win" (or "won"). It's enough that a driver just participates in the race - and all offline drivers gain that race's worth of experience.

I read about it, I do not remember where, but they suggested to play b spec Sunday Cup and this way is faster, but I have not tried

They will, yes, but it won't really help for "Air of Experience" - 1 race is 1 race however long it is and you need 500 of them.

Is there a way to "grind" I dont like pressing the buttons all the time it gets annoying because i have to press x when I'am done then again and again until the xp part where he gains it then i press down then x. What should I do?

I think I got an idea for my own question tape down enter and the down key. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Doesn't work!!!

I've read about people using a USB thumb drive with some kind of programmable script that mimics controller inputs to a PS3 but I have no idea how it really works or how to do it, but the claim is that it works great for automated B-spec grinding.

I've also seen videos on YT where people rig oscillating fans to a USB keyboard
such that the return button is held down, and the fan will keep pressing what ever other key stroke you want, thus allowing for automated B-spec grinding.

I Have been trying to look for a way to do the air of experience trophy without baby siting b spec bob it is very hard I tried youtube they have robots, programs etc I don't have that i need another way besides using a fan I tried that it somehow overheated and stopped working. Please help!
