Hello all,
I decided a few days ago to try and achieve this trophy in the game.
I read a lot about how to get the trophy on this forum and others and there are a lot of myths about it.
The best information I found was here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=134971&highlight=The+Air+of+Experience
I'm posting this because I could not find a thread that didn't have myths and incorrect facts about this trophy in it.
First off, I have never (repeat never) retired any of my B-Spec drivers.
They are all Level 40, and yes their skills bars have started to fade.
I decided to use my first B-Spec driver to achieve this trophy as his career bar was 98% full.
According to his stats he's had 2476 races and 943 wins.
Most of his races have been online B-Spec racing which does not count towards the career bar.
I tried 3 nights of the Suzuka 9hr endurance race, but it didn't move his bar (I counted the pixels on my LCD TV).
So then I tried running the simple "Beginner Tsukuba" race, it's 4 or 5 laps. I ran it about 3 or 4 times (takes under 4mins to run) and I noticed his bar had moved a pixel.
After about 45mins of running this race repetitively his bar was full and I had the trophy.
So the moral of the story is this:
-only offline B-Spec races count towards the Career Progress bar
-even if your driver is loosing skills, you can use them to obtain this trophy
-it's not the XP or length of the race, but the number of races done. I've heard 500 quoted often but I'm not 100% sure.
Again I know this information is out there, but it's scattered around and a lot of time people contradict it. I've heard tons of myths like retiring a driver when they get to Level 40 because that driver will not be able to help you get the "The Air of Experience" trophy. It's simply untrue.
I hope this information helps.

- The Air of Experience
Raise a B-Spec driver to the peak of his career
Train a single B-Spec driver until his "career" bar is filled - this requires you to have a B-Spec driver active on your roster for 500 races, give or take a couple, whether he drives in all 500 or not. Remote Races do not count towards this trophy.
