Ladies and gentlemen, as of the date of this reply, the Petit Le Mans is coming up next weekend! Let's try to breathe life back into this topic. I hope the race runs well considering the hurricane deal.

After this event, October 18th is going to be the race at Laguna Seca under the lights. I kind of wish the ALMS had more night races. Night races other than endurances. Who knows? We may see a Sebring exhibition race at night. Speaking of Sebring, wouldn't you want to see an exhibition at Sebring instead of just a one-time use for the 12-hour race. Maybe bring back the "Sebring Octoberfest" event (1997). Or does the ALMS need more night races?

It's the best one I can find. Can't find a decent photo site on it. I don't have the ALMS link in my signature right now, so use the link at the top of this reply. Petit Le Mans in 6 days!

According to Speed Channel, this race will be screwed up for the second year in a row. I'll think about a topic to express my points, but apparentely, Petit Le Mans will be intercepted by coverage of NASCAR Happy Hour at Dover. Then when we enjoyed PLM, Speed expects us to have an afterparty by watching NASCAR Trucks in Vegas. Let me tell you something. You want an afterparty for Petit Le Mans, talk about the Petit Le Mans on this thread, and share your thoughts about the nighttime finale at Laguna Seca. With this race and the next, it should potentially breathe life back into this thread. But it all begins with you all. Anyhow, I'm going to see as much as I can. No college football for me this weekend. That is, unless Speed shows excessive commercials of dietary supplements, bodybuilding hardware, debt management, and all that.

Petit Le Mans is less than 12 hours from the date of this reply (as of 1:11 AM Central Daylight Time)!

Wow, what's this Viper getting t.v. time?! Viper in 3rd? LMAO it's always hilarious to watch a Corvette then Porsche pass a Lambo. :dopey:👍

OK, went just went into a 30 minute black out, but so far a pretty good race. Oh, go here http://www.imsaracing.net/2003/lt/ltframesnew.htm for live race info.

It's too bad the Saleen S7 is having so many problems. I was hoping they would do great today, but no luck. The Viper is doing well, and so is the one Lamborghini.

In the P1 class, JJ is in first, no big surprise. He should give the Audi R8 yet another victory.

Yeah, the lambo actually grabbin third surprised me. The S7 has always had major problems and is an abysmal failure racing wise. I feel sorry for Saleen.

I think there were two questionable calls at Petit Le Mans. One such call was a Porsche being spun out by a prototype while the prototype was called into the pits for a penalty. I couldn't see an accurate description of what happened to one other Porsche and one of the front-running prototypes in class (Tomy Drissy among one of the racers in this prototype situation).

Anyhow, if you want to continue talking about the ALMS, let's talk about what a night race at Laguna Seca would be like. Think about the Corkscrew at night! You know, a "SoCal" track on the Monterrey Peninsula mostly famous for that dreaded Corkscrew and is perhaps one of the most true and complete road race tracks in America, if not the world. That's going to be a thrilling finale this October. What you think? Let's fantacise Laguna Seca at night with the roar of wonderful sportscars, folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, this weekend marks the very end of the ALMS Championship for 2004 at Laguna Seca. I'm pretty sure someone will want to share the final race results as well as all the class winners, so go right ahead.

Well, I made this topic to discuss the American Le Mans Series. Now that the series is pretty much near a close this year, we can still talk about this year, next year, big stories, and all that. So while the season may be over, discussion in this thread certainly isn't over. So go right ahead, my friends.

With the 2005 ALMS Season about to go underway, I figure I'd revive this topic. As in my current signature, you Speed Channel viewers will get Sebring, but only 80% of the coverage as NASCAR Busch series racing from Atlanta will interrupt things. As I heard, there was some heavy rains in Sebring, FL, USA. So I'd have to imagine how the weather will fare this weekend.

New cars, new faces, new season, let's talk ALMS 2005, GTPlanet!

Hey John.. I'd say I don't need Speed t.v. anymore now that we have b-spec but I don't think I can... As for Nascrap cutting into ALMS... figures... I guess if I happen to get a chance to watch satellite I'll watch it. Sounded like there was some new teams coming so it should be more interesting. 👍

There's already a thread on the Sebring 2005 results, but when it comes to the next race at Road Atlanta, can you say "Zoom-Zoom?" Apparentely, Mazda will drop in an engine into a Dallara chassis and go racing in the P2 class. Mazda's returning, folks. April 17th 2005, Mazda will pounce.

By the way, the race will be on CBS, so Ralph Sheheen or someone will likely call down the race. By then, it will probably be two weeks after the college basketball season came to an end for 2005 (for men and women), so I don't think we'll be seeing any brief college basketball highlights while the Road Atlanta race come on. But then, it will be a 2-hour cutdown as usual, so what do you have to lose?

Nice job to Aston Martin upsetting the Corvette teams at Sebring, they're likely heading for Le Mans this year, and that's the next big endurance of 2005 after Nurburgring (or do they run the same weekend?). Porsches are strong as always, plus it was bit of a shame to see local Texas team, Risi Competizione race the ALMS season, but without any driver points or manufacturer points with that awesome Maserati MC12. I just hope they can get it within the rules, so they can MAYBE get some points in the GT1 class. Or if that's not possible, then disregard my previous sentence.
