Some great cars come and just vanished into thin air.

What I mean is that cars that made our hearts melt. Wish you have those cars brand new on that timeline, and regret it when they are already gone.

Theres no exotic, supercars here (ie.Lamborghini, Porsche, Vipers, Mustangs, etc.)

The list above are cars that are $80,000 and below models so there are no signature cars in the poll.

The cars I would really like to own on that timeline when the were brand new:
'91 Honda CRX
'97 Honda (Civic) Del Sol
'95?? Volkswagen Corando
'97 Subaru SVX
'99-00 Mitsubishi 3000GT/GTO

The Eclipse? That thing was a real sleeper in the original GT - in fully tuned trim it was capable of winning the top GT Championship.

From an Australian point of view:
- the Ford Laser TX3 (turbo 4wd version). Sure it was a rebadged/rebodied version of the Mazda, but it was a great little car. Still wondering where that one came from.

Well, the MX-3 was great....I'd also have to say the '67 Cosmo, the Mazda 360, and the worst(from Mazda ofcurse)would be the GLC(RWD 323, they rusted fast and drove terribly), and the Navajo(early Ford Explorer...that's all I have to say about that...).

Some that shouldn't be on the list are MX-6/Probe(2 generations of them), Oddessy(been around for 10 years or more),

Maz- double post. ;)

UUUHHH!!! Subaru BRAT! My family actually owns one... it's not in great running condition though... I really want to rebuild it... it's such an awesome car... errr... truck...

I'd actually really like an SVX - shame they're auto only, but I'm sure if I had the $ and a bit of time I could probably find a nice 6 speed manual for.

There's one that runs around my neighbourhood - problem is if I car-jack the guy there's probably a good chance he'll see me driving around in it - not the most common thing on the road, and they are fairly distinctive.

yea, SVXs are cool, a guy that goes to my school has one, and there's like 5 others in the area...I don't like the split window thingy though...

I went with the Lancia Delta (I loved the Integralle versions, almost bought one about a year ago). I also picked the Land Rover Defenders. There's just a certain something about the old ones, and the new ones look pretty hot.

3000 GT

older RX-7 (from the early '80s), the newer ones look too much like Miatas *runs and hides from RX-7 fans* ;)

~'91 CRX

OK, here's a partial list off the top of my head, no particular order:

Chevrolet Imapla SS
Buick Grand National

Triumph TR8
Porsche 944

Dodge Omni GLHS
Dodge Spirit R/T

Mitsu Galant VR4
Mitsu Mirage Turbo

I dont think the eclipse should be on there. It is still being made and is evolving. I chose the daytona...mainly cuz i drive one nearly as much as my explorer. Its really peppy and cute....looks like the camaros of the day (its a white 87 shelby z).

Yes Grand National wins hands down, I love that car, I knew someone who had one for a few months then he bought his C4:(

How about the NSU Ro80?

So good, it bankrupted the company!

I used to see one wandering the streets where I grew up in Melbourne - it was running a ported 12A, if I remember correctly. Attractive little thing, though.

Well he did say that there were no supercars, that it was $80,000 and below.

Nice pics though!

I voted for the Lancia Delta and "Other". I forgot to vote for the Toyota Previa, which, while completely undesirable, was a great car: practicality coming out of its ears, reasonable-looking, and not nearly as crap to drive or slow as it should be.

My "Other" is: The original Audi quattro. When it came out it so kicked the arse of the established car world, and even still, it looks great, sounds great, and goes like stink.

Good poll!

Oh, and by the way, the Golf-based VW coupe was called the Corrado. Unless of course it differed by region.
