However, he suddenly disappeared and settled in Japan, because he is fed up in being his father's "puppet", and that he will be a great racer in his own way.

He now decided to cut his ties with the McCarthy family, having had enough of his father's evil deeds.

His lone wolf persona was stemmed from the fact that after his parents' death, everyone close to him relied on him, that he felt that all the burden is too much on his shoulders.

After spending some time with Michiharu during the Mille Miglia, Hiroyuki has been struck to the core and decides to give "reliance" a try once again. He, in fact, joined a racing team back in Japan, losing his title in the process.

It took a lot of convincing to his wife to allow him to buy the car, knowing how expensive it is. He runs a hardware shop, but spends tinkering on his GT-R when there are no customers to entertain. He's not a race car driver, but enjoys open track days, showing off the prowess of the GT-R.

In the later parts of the story, it turns out that he purchased another Skyline - in the form of the R30 2000 RS-X Turbo C - which is among the most powerful domestic cars in Japan. However, it was meant as a present for Michiharu to use for the future.

They first met at an ice cream stall, and it's also the place where Koichi proposed to her. And while they are a happy couple, one thing sometimes lets her down - her inability to bear a child. She has a hostile womb, and while the couple have considered adoption, hearing Michiharu's situation in Kyoto prompts her to help him out by sending the letter of their home address in Tokyo, with the approval of Koichi. He had undergone a rigorous "right of passage" test of dismantling a racing car's engine and rebuilding it for a racing team that resulted in that team's victory when he was 16. Deep down, he also wished to be part of the professional racing world, but his skills are rather mediocre at best.

Deep inside, he dreams to be a racer, as he saw one of the muscle cars speeding around the desert when he visited his homeland. As a result, he purchased a red Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and frequents at Tsukuba Circuit honing his skills, even smashing the 1 minute and 10 second barrier. He's not going to play a small role, though...

After seeing Ben's exploits in racing, it became his drive to truly enter in the world of speed and eventually seeking him. Over time, Ben became his mentor, tagging him along in racing events, and he even knows some quarrels of Ben and Sir Shaw. But he decided to stay on his mentor's side, and is willing to help. After Ben suddenly left for Japan, he continued on honing his skills and continued on winning races using sudden attacks from behind, eventually making the racing community to call him "The Werewolf".

25

Carmela Agostini:

Age:
30
Nationality: Italian
Occupation: Race Car Driver
Likes: Ferraris, her Dino 246 GT, Dolls, Leather
Dislikes: Lancia Stratos, scarfs, spiders

Background: Having seen a Ferrari speed along the highway in her teenage years, Carmela decided to purchase one after saving it up. She did manage to buy one, albeit a Dino 246 GT, which she still considers a Ferrari since it was made by Ferrari engineers after all. She always adores the passion, beauty, and performance of a Ferrari, and looks down on other companies that are owned by FIAT Group, such as Lancia and even FIAT (ironically), as she believes that Ferrari doesn't deserve to be owned by a company who makes cars for commoners. She hates the Lancia Stratos as well, as she doesn't like Ferrari parts on non-Ferraris, hence making her blood boil whenever she sees one.

Car: Dino 246 GT

Alessandro Rossi:

Age:
25
Nationality: Italian
Occupation: Mechanic
Likes: Carburetor, Racing exhausts, Rear-wheel drive cars, Tuscany
Dislikes: Squid, Narrow roads, Noisy neighbors, Opera

Background: Alessandro Rossi used to work in a few racing teams as a mechanic before deciding to settle in his own shop. Getting tired of being pressured by crew chiefs and some racing regulations, he decides to tune cars in a way he sees fit. He believes that tuning is a way of self-expression, and is one of the best ways to vent out your true feelings. Since then, his finished cars usually attract the attention of the authorities, questioning their street-legal status. But that doesn't stop him from adhering that philosophy.

Car: Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2

Shinji Yama****a:

Age: 40
Nationality: Japanese
Occupation: Crew Chief, Heir to a textile manufacturing firm
Likes: Inner talent, fine leather, smooth cloth
Dislikes: Time disruptions, coffee, Ryuji Hiramoto

Background: Much like Gan Kurosawa, Shinji is also an heir, albeit to his family's textile manufacturing business. With that, he prefers the smoothest texture, and the most durable piece of clothing material available.

With vast wealth, he also created a racing team to pursue something that intrigues him - Motorsports. He finds it curious on why people engage in such sport that involves high risks. He also believes in inner talent, and treats his workers like his buddies. A notable example is Hiroyuki Hiramoto, a person he scouted himself after knowing his exploits that are opposite in his exterior appearance.

At one point, he employed Ryuji Hiramoto, Hiroyuki's competitive younger brother, but the man suddenly left the team, without even a single word.

Tsubaki Kobayashi:

Age: 25
Nationality: Japanese
Occupation: Honda Test Driver
Likes: Hondas, compact and lightweight hatchbacks, high-revving engines, Women in the racing world, Touge, Dango

Dislikes: Lazy-revving engines, powerful muscle cars, slimy creatures, chauvinistic men

Car: Honda Ballade Sports CR-X 1.5i '83

Background: Tsubaki gained her job as a Honda Test Driver when one of the company's executives witnessed her prowess in go-kart racing. When she landed the job, she would sometimes make decisions that would prove risky for the company, but would turn out to be successful products in the market. She is also testing Honda's racing prototypes.

After her day job, though, her racing prowess would expand further, as she races at the Touge (mountain pass) during sunset using her CR-X developed for racing. Her CR-X could easily fool racers with its looks, and as well as its specifications. However, the car could even beat powerful rear-wheel drive cars at the Touge.

She takes inspiration from Tomoko Kawaguchi, and delighted at the fact that women are making their voices heard, and their abilities recognized. She won't forgive men who look down on her, though...

Goto Kawasaki:

Age: 25
Nationality: Japanese
Occupation: Honda Test Driver
Likes: His work, Tsubaki, Honda Civic, Tofu, Cake
Dislikes: Unfinished prototypes, Dragon Fruit, Noisy neighbors

Description: Goto is a close friend of Tsubaki, and almost fell for her when the two landed their jobs. While Tsubaki got employed thanks to her racing skills, Goto on the other hand, got his job thanks to his knowledge of mechanics. He likes Tsubaki's recommendations, but sometimes, just like their boss, questions some of her decisions that might put the company at risk. Nonetheless, he believes that her feedback is crucial for the success of Honda's cars, particularly performance models.

Lewis Hawthorne:

Age: 24
Nationality: American
Occupation: Country music singer at a bar in Los Angeles, California
Likes: General Motors' cars, Guitars, V8 engine burble at idle, Steak
Dislikes: Mopar fans, Richard Sommers, Ben McCarthy, Overpriced luxury cars

Car: Chevrolet Nova SS

Background: Lewis is an up-and-coming country music star, his popularity would attract managers, but he turns them down with reasons that even he doesn't know. When his guitar is left home, then that means he is at Willow Springs Raceway, tearing up with his modified Chevrolet Nova SS that he claims "that would knock some good ol' sense" on overpriced luxurious performance cars. He is seeking meaning through racing, and is torn to choose between his music career and racing life as a result.

He once crossed paths with Richard Sommers and Ben McCarthy. For the former, they had a race that resulted a tie, and he dislikes Richard for having "too much pride" and "can't get over the past". For the latter, he dislikes Ben too, as Ben is a vocal critic on American Muscle cars. He wishes one day to "beat some good ol' sense" to Ben once and for all, to prove that USA is part of the sports car world.

Well well, looks like you're already on it, eh?

Welp, looking forward to this~

Oh, and if you can, try your best not to write in script format. ;)

No offense, bro. Just find your writing format a bit too bland for telling a story. As in...lacking the "immerse" feel to it.

Since you ARE telling a story in literature format, I don't see what's so hard about that. xD

And no, you don't need to be a certified writer to do that. (Check Fictionpress.net and Fanfiction.net.)

That aside, don't hesitate to try something new. Avoid cliches in your story this time and don't give blatant messages that most readers in general understand. :)

CHAPTER 1

UNFAMILIAR WATERS
Page 1 - Departure and Arrival

Searching... searching... oh there it is. I'm glad this bag is big enough for all my important things I need for my exodus.

Oh, hey there. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Michiharu Kanonji. I am 25 years old, and unemployed. Let's just say that everyone else is lucky. I am not considering myself as such because I had a bad childhood. Really, I mean what kind of a kid wants to see his parents fight everyday? For 25 years, I am a witness... I could even write a diary solely about their fights.

The root of their quarrel? ME. Yes, it's me. THEY SAY THAT I WAS AN ACCIDENT. My father knocked up my mother probably because he was drunk. But for whatever reason, they call me an accident and both never forget to abuse me in various degrees. My father physically abuses me, while my mother has excellent choice of words. They never greeted me on birthdays nor give a gift on Christmas. The only good thing they did was to send me to school, and that's it.

I had enough? Of course I had. That's why I'm doing the packing. This is the right time, as I hear my mother shouting on top of her voice in the other room as she quarrels as usual with my drunk father. I don't care about the topic of their quarrel. All that matters is that I'm packed.

Before I leave the room, I grabbed a piece of paper on my desk. It's the most important thing of all. It contains the address of my uncle and aunt's home in Tokyo. Both of them treat me like their own son, and they decided to help me out knowing my plight.

I opened the main door. I never looked back. I want to run. I really want to. No time for tears. I want to change my life. I don't want to live like this.

It's raining heavily. I don't care. A few minutes of walking passed, and I made it to the Kyoto station. The Bullet Train is new and fast, but I don't have the money for a ticket. I have saved enough for a regular train that would take me to Tokyo in 8 hours time. It didn't matter. All I want is to run away from hell. I am soaking wet, and the cashier looks worried, but she still handed me the ticket.

What time is it? 8 in the morning. So I would make it to Tokyo in 4 in the afternoon.

There it is, finally... I can hear the train coming. Or should I say, train to paradise. I boarded, and still I never looked back.

Never look back...

Never look back...

Never look back...

Your life will be totally different now...

JUST... NEVER... LOOK BACK.

And I finally sit.

Oh yes, the train starts to move. I don't care how many hours it would take me to Tokyo, but all that matters is that I have to make it there. And with that, I breathed out a sigh, and I closed my eyes.

**************************************************************************************

Well, I only slept for 3 hours. But that didn't matter. I gaze by the train's window. All I see are droplets, but it seems the rain had stopped. The beautiful trees and scenery, you can enjoy them while traveling slowly. The Bullet Train's 250 km/h is rather too fast for you to see the scenic route.

Finally, I reached heaven. After a while of looking around at the busy station, I got out. I cannot believe what I saw next.

Is this Tokyo? Really?

T
okyo.... Tokyo... whoa... what a city! Thanks to my family, I've never been out from Kyoto. Kyoto is boring, and 25 years have been wasted just walking around to and fro.

People are everywhere wherever I look. I took out that paper from my pocket as I exited the station. Time for another walk. Let's see... where should I head to? Aoyama is where they live.

I asked some people, and they are kind enough to immediately give the directions. I followed them all.

Then while walking, I noticed a blue sports car. It captured the attention of the bystanders. It is idling, so I took a quick glance at it. I wonder why people look at this type of cars? What's so great about them? Is it all about the looks, really?

12170142413_0b5fee74e1_c.jpg

I should cross the street, right? But I am still looking at the car.

12170140403_5f50907cd1_c.jpg

Oh, a woman is driving it.

And then, as if fate intended, I crossed the moment the light showed green. The blue car immediately moved, but it stopped short of hitting me. The woman gets out of her car. Uh-oh... I hope she's not as crazy as my mother.

"Hey! Watch it! Don't you see that you should not cross?"

Looking at her, she seems rather captivating. She wears a blue jumpsuit, matching her long navy blue hair. Really, wearing that on a normal day. What is this? Attending a costume party?

"Ummmm... excuse me? Why are you looking at me like that? I'll let you cross."

Michiharu: "Sorry for the trouble, ma'am."

I made it to the other side as the blue car speeds away. That woman... she seems friendly. The car matches her looks.

That moment was rather quick, but something that I won't forget. Weird...

I finally made it to the destination, after another hour of searching. Uncle Koichi and Aunt Maiko are probably what I can call "Dad" and "Mom". Auntie took me in, and offer me some tea. Oh, beside their home is a hardware shop they have been running for years.

Maiko: "I'm so glad you finally made it! We promise, that your life will be so much better from this point on. Oh dear... you are soaked! Come in, I'll prepare some tea for you."

Michiharu: "Thank you very much for taking me in. But rest assured, I'm not going to be a freeloader. I will immediately find a job. Perhaps maybe working for your shop, as I am capable of doing heavy work."

And then Uncle joins us. He is holding a wrench and a towel.

Koichi: "You took my advice, eh? Good boy."

Michiharu: "Ojisan, can I work for your shop?"

Koichi: "You want to? I mean you can look for another job, if you want. We want you to live freely and happily, something your parents didn't give."

Michiharu: "I want to pay back your kindness. I can take whatever task you give me."

Koichi: "Let's see. But for now you can rest. On the weekend, I shall take you out on the race track to try out my car that I have been working on for years. Come, I shall show you."

A sports car, definitely. Ojisan is fond of cars. Last time I met him, he was talking about the foreign fast cars dubbed as the "Supercar".

And so, he led me to his garage. Then, he opened the lights, exposing a silver sports car. It has GT-R badges around it. Can't think of new styling ideas? It seems redundant to me seeing the badge all over the car.

12170150463_a2fec13853_c.jpg

Could this be one of those "Supercars" he was talking about? It does not look like one... The blue one I saw earlier probably fits to be called as such.

Koichi: "Here it is boy, the car I've saved up and worked on for years. It's really expensive, even it took me days of convincing your Auntie to allow me to buy it."

12169923715_644f14cf8d_c.jpg

Michiharu: "GT-R? Why is it named that way?"

Koichi: "The GT-R is Nissan's attempt of making the brand known in the racing world! It won plenty of races recently, you know? I have tuned it to 200 horsepower, and changed the suspension and brakes! On Saturday, we shall head out to the race track and have a bonding moment while tearing it up. I am so excited trying this one out!"

And then he opened the hood. The engine looks like fresh. I think he spends most of the time tinkering it.

Michiharu: "What's that little thing over there?"

Koichi: "That's a carburetor, son."

Michiharu: "It looks... cute."

Koichi: "Ehhh??? You are the only person I've heard saying that. Believe me, it's not as cute as what you think. It's a pain to adjust carburetors, you know?

*****************************************************************************

Location: Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture
Time: 9 am, the next day

The birds immediately dispersed as a loud sound roars the mountain pass....

12170561106_b9a06030d2_c.jpg

...as the loud roar of the Toyota 2000GT can be heard. And approaching really fast.

12170560176_9d68465d61_c.jpg

One of the bystanders look at awe at the 2000GT's cornering.

"There's no mistaking on who is driving that car...

...it's Hiroyuki Hiramoto, Suzuka's Lone Wolf!"

**************************************************************************************

After that rendezvous with the so-called "GT-R", I returned to the living room as my uncle is resuming manning the hardware store. Maybe I could really help him out, as he is alone, without any staff to assist him.

However, I was called by auntie, and asked me to buy snacks from a convenience store nearby. I immediately set off.

You know, I've never felt this happy. The couple really treats me like their son. Auntie just smiled at me before I left. So I guess having good parents doesn't always have to be the ones whom you're biologically related to. Just as long as they treat you with love and care, that's all what everyone needs from a loving parent.

Walking along, I saw another bizarre-looking car...

12171596825_d136d3425c_c.jpg

Really? Tokyo is filled with cars like that? Perhaps being the capital mean being the most progressive, huh?

I moved on, and then suddenly, I see a man in nice suit being cornered by a robber at an alley. The robber is holding a knife, well, you know why.

I found a rock, and hurled it to the robber. He looked back at me, and...

Michiharu: "You are no worse than my father. Can't think of doing something better in life?"

Without a word, the robber is about to stab me. What do you think? I won't fight back? Of course I will. Being abused by my parents gave me strength to fight back, and that robber is a walk in a park.

I stomped on his shin. And while howling in pain, I immediately performed a roundhouse kick on his face. The police nearby is attracted by the commotion. As the robber stood up, I kicked him once again, sending him to the police and finally got handcuffed.

The man in a suit approached me, and then bowed before me.

"Thank you very much. Oh, my name is Gan Kurosawa. Pleased to meet you."

Michiharu: "I am Michiharu Kanonji. This is nothing. There are also thieves in Kyoto."

Gan: "Listen, I will make it up to you. You deserve a reward. How about a ride tonight with my Ferrari?"

So you own that car, huh? But really, wearing that fancy suit, and having a nicely styled hair with a very expensive car can really attract thieves. Can't afford to dress down?

Michiharu: "No need. I have to help those in need. That's all. I have to go to the store. Take care next time."

Gan: "We'll meet here tonight. Better show up, okay? You're in for a treat!"

Oh fine... if you insist. I have nothing to do tonight, anyway.

Michiharu: "If you insist, then. Okay. My curiosity on that type of car grows even further. What time?"

Gan: "9:30 pm at this spot. I'll be waiting!"

He rides in his Ferrari and sets off. Now I'm wondering why people would spend so much just for that car. It looks exotic and fancy all right...

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

- The decision to release this first before Dream Alliance 3 is due to the fact I included 5 Vision GT cars in that story, and since they're not out, I have to put that on hold.

And those Vision GT cars are from these manufacturers (subject to change):

Mazda
Lamborghini
Toyota
Mitsubishi
Bertone

- With the improved number of classic cars, I decided to revive this fanfic. Classic cars continue to intrigue me, and it's actually a nice change of pace to feature them in my fanfics.

Good start. It's going to be interesting looking into Michiharu's past.

Racer to be meets racing chief.

Then we got aspiring gamer meets rich ass girl. It's not a coincidence, is it? Either way, it's looking to be a good way to kick this off.

Page 2 - The Test

Really? Do I have to show up? I don't even need anything in return. And besides, we might even get into an accident should things go wrong at high speeds.

But part of me is curious... and this is also the opportunity riding in a Supercar. Plus, I intend on making friends here in Tokyo. Life here is very nice.

I am waiting at the appointed area. It's exactly 9:30. Then I hear a loud sound, and that gold Ferrari finally arrives.

Gan: "Hop in!"

So I did.

Gan: "Buckle up. We're going to have a ride at Route 7. Time to show you why this is called a Supercar!"

I knew it... I hope I don't vomit on this expensive interior.

Gan: "Hey, what do you do for a living?"

Michiharu: "Nothing... I just arrived here. I am from Kyoto, and life there is dreadful and boring."

Gan: "Too bored from seeing history, huh? So how's your parents?"

Time to answer that in a manner that I have totally moved on...

Michiharu: "I don't have any..."

Gan: "I see."

Michiharu: "So what do you do for a living?"

I'm sure he's from a big company.

Gan: "I am an heir to my family's winery! And we even have a wine distillery in Tuscany, Italy!"

Big shot, huh? It's normal for tycoons anyway, having their children prepped up for their managing of businesses.

Gan: "I also run a racing team. Right now though, I'm on a slump. I can't seem to keep it together, when one of the drivers have died recently. As a result, I only have one left. But there will be a foreign race car driver that I will interview tomorrow, in Suzuka Circuit. I hope he will make the cut.

My dream... is for the team to be this country's proudest!"

You must have very high standards, then. Good luck finding one...

Gan: "All right, we're entering the highway."

He paid at the booth, and then we are up on the highway. It's surprisingly empty...

Gan: "Here we go! Hold on!"

He stepped on it. Whoa! What is this! I just got slammed on my seat! Is this the speed of a Supercar? It's like...

No.. it's even scarier than a roller coaster ride!

12187632045_40d9571546_c.jpg

Gan: "Let's see if this car can really reach 300 kilometers per hour, as Ferrari claimed!"

300? That's unimaginable... A Bullet Train can achieve it easily, yet this car can reach that speed too?

Gan: "We're approaching a curve!"

He slams on the brake pedal. And then the car loses control as he enters the curve with speed. Then he steers to the opposite direction. I don't understand how those things would save you from an accident. He's not even panicking. Why?

Michiharu: "You're losing control!"

12188056854_15a7d6a7a0_c.jpg

Gan: "I know. Supercars deserve a truly skilled driver! Don't worry, you'll be able to go home nice and easy."

The car is building up speed again. Why people like him are so thrilled with speed? I don't get it. But as for me...

...it's like the thrill is sinking in too, just slowly.

12187627835_2057a6114f_c.jpg

Gan: "250.... 260... 270!"

270?!? Is this a rocket!?

12187871753_a3567619c1_c.jpg

Gan: "Just a bit more! 290... 295... All right! 300! It's true! It can reach 300 KM/H after all!"

Then he slows down. He's happy that he accomplished that speed claim. Whew... I thought I'm gonna die.

12187623265_6de7bc9965_c.jpg

Gan: "And that's why... this is called a Supercar. Supercars are on a godly level. Their performance sets the benchmark that no ordinary car can reach!"

12187866763_8586d3388f_c.jpg

Gan: "I wish we can have moments like this. You are now my friend. Besides, I owe you a lot. I will help you in any way, so don't hesitate."

Michiharu: "I appreciate that, but I don't want taking too much advantage on people. We are friends, but I can handle my problems on my own. Besides, I live with my aunt and uncle, and they give me a proper life."

12187864223_95cda78ceb_c.jpg

Gan: "Ehh? Something is coming... very fast."

It quickly zoomed past us. It's a black car, but that's all I can see. It's too fast.

12187861323_6ce37a3cba_c.jpg

Gan: "It's a Lamborghini Countach! And since I don't see a wing and it's narrow... it's the LP400!"

Lamborghini what? Sorry, I didn't catch the name.

12187612445_18a515354e_c.jpg

Gan: "There are other models, but the LP400 is simply the fastest! And only 157 of them were made!

Don't tell me..."

Michiharu: "What is it?"

Gan: "There's a news written on a newspaper about a black Lamborghini running at 320 KM/H at this very tunnel. It could be that one we saw."

12188033074_888ab8565b_c.jpg

Gan: "The Countach is the 512 BB's sworn enemy. My car and that car competed in top speed contests. And because of that rivalry, people would flock around the showrooms. When one buys the 512BB, the other would buy the Countach."

After that brief run. He dropped me off at the place where we met. He thanked me again and immediately left.

That moment. It's sinking in... it's like...

...I'm craving for more. Why? I don't get it.

I pondered as I walk on my way home. When I arrived, I headed to the bedroom arranged by Auntie. Man, what a day. I immediately made a friend. But I don't want him to be too concerned of me.

**************************************************************************************

The next day, I woke up early, and then Uncle went in my room.

Koichi: "Hey. Today is the day. Come, let's go to Suzuka."

Michiharu: "Right now?"

Koichi: "Suzuka Circuit is 3 hours away, son. You better get dressed now!"

Michiharu: "Okay."

We immediately set off after I got dressed. I glanced at the window, still pondering...

Koichi: "What's wrong? So, how's your friend?"

Michiharu: "What's speed, anyway? I mean, why are there people so thrilled with it? Even it started to sink in to me..."

Koichi: "When you grab the wheel, hold on the shifter, and step on the pedals, you'll see why. You can't understand the thrill if you just ride along. You have to drive."

Michiharu: "I see..."

Koichi: "That's why... I will let you drive in Suzuka later. I'll coach you, don't worry!"

Wait, what did he just say? Me? Driving the GT-R? I don't even have a license.

Michiharu: "But I don't have a license."

Koichi: "That's why I'm coaching you, right? Besides, I see a better future within you. And I think you'll discover it today."

**************************************************************************************

Location: Suzuka Circuit, Mie Prefecture
Time: 10 am

We arrived, and we entered the track's premises. We are at a pit lane, I am looking around, while Uncle is tinkering on the car again. There plenty of fast cars zooming by. I still don't get it... why are they so thrilled with it? And they even have the time and money to run in circles just to satisfy their need for speed.

Suddenly, I see a familiar sight pass by. It's that blue car.

12187847203_2c904b3431_c.jpg

12187605125_7a5f3af533_c.jpg

Koichi: "That blue Lancia Stratos? It's popular. It's driven by Tomoko Kawaguchi, an aspiring woman race car driver!

12187604165_02dbd03c5d_c.jpg

Koichi: "She is very skilled, to think she can control the demanding car. It takes a lot of skill!"

12188221116_f19de34b6f_c.jpg

Then the blue car returned to the pit lane. Really, I should really stop identifying cars in their colors. I gotta listen properly.

That woman stepped out of her car. There's no mistaking it... she's the same woman wearing a jumpsuit and with a navy blue hair. Then I see her talking to... Gan? She works for Gan, I guess.

Tomoko: "Gan-san, will he be arriving?"

Gan: "He will. I think we should wait for him behind the pit garages."

The two then see the black LP400 parked along.

12188220026_5e421573fe_c.jpg

Stepping out of the car is a tall man wearing a black long sleeved coat, and he looks obviously not from this country.

Tomoko: "A foreigner?"

Gan: "Tomoko, meet Ben McCarthy. He is a very popular racer from U.K. and surprisingly, he chose us to work with."

Ben: "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Gan: "We look forward to working with us. As part of the interview, you shall undergo a test. You must run a lap faster than Tomoko's.

Tomoko: "Are you serious? His LP400 can definitely beat it! 2 minutes and 21 seconds would be too easy."

Gan: "Let's just see if he's not a clown behind the wheel of that Lamborghini."

Ben: "Ferraris are for poseurs who think they can drive. Lamborghinis, however...

...are for real racers who know how to drive!"

Page 3 - The Dimension

Uncle is still doing some tinkering on his car. So it takes that long? I guess things like that are taken seriously, as details like that can affect your game.

Then suddenly I see a black spaceship-looking car exiting the pit lane.

Koichi: "Oooooh... the Lamborghini Countach!"

That name... Gan had mentioned it last night. Probably that's the one we saw last night. It looks really fast.

Koichi: "The driver must be so happy that he owns that dream supercar. Ever since that car came out, people bought posters of it and hang them on their bedroom walls! I have a poster too. It looks like it came from the future, and those doors are out of this world as they open upwards! However... I can't afford buying one."

Michiharu: "Are supercars that expensive? Why?"

Koichi: "They have all the most sophisticated features and the most capable engines. Plus, they are made by hand... So imagine all the labor and love they put in those machines."

Suddenly... the woman in jumpsuit approached us, and takes a look at our car.

12170150463_a2fec13853_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Wow... a GT-R! I've seen them rarely. It is an expensive car, for a Nissan. Mind if I look at the engine?"

Koichi: "Sure, Tomoko-san. Here."

He fulfills the woman's request. She is awestruck at the sight. What's there to be awed for?

Tomoko: "You really put a lot of effort in maintaining the engine! The GT-R's engine is high maintenance after all, so the rumors are true."

Suddenly, she looks at me. I tried my best not to make eye contact, but...

Tomoko: "It looks like we've met. Aren't you too shy?"

Michiharu: "Ummmm.... nice to meet you, Tomoko-chan."

Tomoko: "Oh, just call me Tomoko next time, okay?"

She's alluring. Her long navy blue hair is her most attractive feature.

Tomoko: "You're quite the silent type, aren't you? Hey, it won't hurt to talk! Do you drive?"

Michiharu: "I don't have a license."

Tomoko: "You should get one. You know, both driving and racing are fun!"

Koichi: "He will drive shortly."

Tomoko: "Really!?"

Koichi: "I will coach him. Don't worry!"

**************************************************************************************

Meanwhile, Ben starts his timed lap.

12203906403_90dc713fa6_c.jpg

12203904463_4819f36456_c.jpg

Ben: "This is one easy task. As long as I am in this team, I'm more than happy."

12204072964_17339cb390_c.jpg

Ben: "Tomoko owns a nice Stratos, but I'm sorry to say that the Countach is the king of the road! I've beaten every single Ferrari with this!"

The Countach completes the lap in...

12204071064_418defb11e_c.jpg

Gan: "2 minutes and 17.8 seconds. Not bad."

Tomoko: "Of course it would beat my Stratos."

Gan: "But hey, it takes skill to drive a Lamborghini too, just like any other supercar. So he's a real racer after all."

Tomoko: "If he's very popular in Europe, then why did he choose working for us?"

Then, Tomoko hears a loud exhaust sound from the put garage. She looks back, and then she is overjoyed by the sight of a white Toyota 2000GT.

12203897793_937c7a6181_c.jpg

Tomoko: "It's Hiroyuki Hiramoto! I can't believe..."

Gan: "...that your crush is here? I knew it."

Tomoko: "He's so cool and awesome, isn't he? No woman can resist his presence!"

Gan: "Yeah, but we all know why he's called Suzuka's Lone Wolf, and he intends to keep it that way."

Tomoko: "No one's perfect after all."

Ben returns to the pit lane.

Ben: "So, how did I fare?"

Gan: "Excellent! You have clearly shown us your prowess that made you a feared racer in Europe."

Ben: "You've already known about me, then."

Gan: "Of course I make a background check on my applicants. But why work with us here in Japan?"

Ben: "To run away..."

Then he immediately leaves them, and lights up a cigarette and puffs up a smoke.

12203664365_6ecb47d747_c.jpg

Ben: "That was too easy. But I have escaped..."

He puffs out another smoke.

Ben: "...hell. I'm in heaven. That's all that matters."

*****************************************************************************

I guess we're all set, as Uncle have started the engine.

Koichi: "Take the wheel. Drive."

Michiharu: "Are you serious?"

Koichi: "Of course. Let's see if your future is here."

Michiharu: "Huh?"

Koichi: "Just drive! Do not worry."

He insisted... oh well. I entered in the car. Now, how do I get it to move?

Koichi: "Put your left foot on the clutch. Then move the gear lever to the upper left, the first gear."

Okay... that was rather easy. What's next?

Koichi: "Good. Now slowly, and simultaneously, apply the accelerator by your right foot and lift the clutch. Don't rush. What matters is that you'll be able to move slowly."

That was complicated. But I'll give that a try... focus... just focus. Slowly... put my right foot on the gas and lift the clutch.

Michiharu: "It moves..."

Koichi: "Oh ho ho! Amazing! First timers usually stall the car. See? You shall be a great driver! Now let's go out of this garage."

12204275666_78c47dc4e4_c.jpg

We entered the track. I'll just drive slowly then. But isn't this the place where one must drive very fast?

Koichi: "Now floor it! Time to accelerate!"

Wait... you will let me drive at high speed?

Suddenly, a white car overtakes us. Man, I'm so pathetic that I drive this slow. But... that car....

12204064564_d34f9b52a3_c.jpg

Koichi: "Now we're all set."

That white car... it's like telling me to come at him.

Koichi: "Now, gently apply the brakes as we come into the first corner. Then we speed through it."

12204272256_e82d69edbf_c.jpg

The speed isn't as scary as Gan's Ferrari. So somehow I am at ease. But...

12203656155_5cc26f403b_c.jpg

Hiroyuki: "What's wrong? I am always itching to fight whenever I see a GT-R. Self-conceited owners thinking it's the fastest car in the world! How pathetic."

That white car is urging me. Look, it slowed down. In a race, one must be faster, right? I feel a sudden urge. It's like there's a fire burning within me! My gut feeling tells me that I must not lose!

Koichi: "Easy there, boy. We cannot keep up with it."

I almost went off the course. Whew... the car's brakes are good.

12204060294_261745d4d2_c.jpg

Koichi: "That was close. No need to push it this hard. Don't ever think of racing against that Toyota 2000GT. You have no idea who is behind the wheel of that car."

12203653595_7198a94043_c.jpg

Koichi: "We're too fast! We're going off course!"

12204057884_db5e5f3a8a_c.jpg

Oh boy... I did it. Sorry...

Koichi: "Don't worry. The most important thing is that you know how to get the car moving. It would be useful in day-to-day situations. Plus, this shall be an advantage for your licensing tests."

Michiharu: "Sorry. I don't think I'm cut for this after all."

Koichi: "Don't be discouraged! Tell you what, why don't we go to the racetracks every weekend to hone your skills? We do that after you get your license. I promise you, it would be a great experience."

Michiharu: "By the way, who is driving that white Toyota? It's like... it's urging me to fight him."

Koichi: "Ahhh... I guess you are trapped in his Dimension now. You see, the driver in question is Hiroyuki Hiramoto."

12204266546_88d896aaf4_c.jpg

Koichi: "He is so-called Suzuka's Lone Wolf. Why? Because he works for no one. He has no team. He is the one doing the set ups and racing. Of course, he can't participate in endurance races, but he's a force to be reckoned with in this country's motorsports scene!"

12203649425_c9a2fe5296_c.jpg

Koichi: "And all those who raced with him claim that they are stuck in his Dimension. They call the Hiramoto Dimension. Once you start chasing him after he provokes you, it's like you will be stuck in his rhythm, and he pushes you to your limit that any time, you'll make a mistake. It's like hypnosis, he's playing you on his hands... and then..."

12204262106_bdb4f22cbd_c.jpg

Michiharu: "I have this feeling. It's like I want to race him again. It's like I don't want to lose to him."

Koichi: "That's how everyone feels after they encounter him in action. I appreciate your determination, but it takes a lot of skill to race him. I think you'll be the first person to beat him. I can really see it. Your eyes are a window of your fighting spirit.

Now that he said that, why did I have that "fighting spirit"? Is it because that Hiroyuki guy ignited it? That's what I'm feeling right now. I'm on fire!

12203886363_f38b726a65_c.jpg

End of Page 3

As far as i know, Hiroyuki did debut as a villain. Glad get to see that part of him again, especially the first bits of fiction i read on this forum was just the first Dream Alliance.

Hiroyuki's driving style is inspired by Motoharu "Gan-san" Kurosawa of Best Motoring. He races with no mercy at all, sometimes to the point of being cruel. :sly:

But Hiroyuki in his heyday is more of an anti-hero, and not of a villain. He is a detached character but he will eventually cross paths with Michiharu again, and finds fascination.

By sunset, Tomoko has returned home, and having gone from a long trip, she is feeling sleepy. While driving though, she suddenly encounters Hiroyuki along the bridge.

12221171094_8ea4fa23a3_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Hiroyuki-san is just standing there, looking at the river. Hmmmm...."

She decides to stop, wasting no opportunity in meeting her crush.

12220946783_0bf106589c_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Hiroyuki-san. It's actually nice to see you for the first time in person. What are you doing in a place like this?"

Hiroyuki: "Just having some thoughts."

Tomoko: "Well, to be honest, I have... a crush on you. You are one of the reasons why I race."

Hiroyuki: "Really? I thought you want to empower women, by proving to the world that you are just as fast as men."

Tomoko: "That is the main reason, but of course I couldn't help but get attracted to you. And maybe you should think of having a team. Why won't work with us?"

Hiroyuki: "So what? Just to fulfill your desire of being with me? Forget it. I don't want people depending on me too much. And... if I were you, forget about me. I actually like your main purpose of racing. Keep doing it, instead of wasting your time chasing after me. I cannot waste my time playing around with a girl, either; as I have my dreams at stake. I hope this will be the last conversation."

Tomoko: "You don't have to be so mean. I'm not gonna go in your way, as I have dreams to fulfill too! It's just that, I just want to watch you race."

Hiroyuki: "Don't waste your time doing that either. That's all I have to say. Farewell..."

Hiroyuki suddenly leaves, leaving with Tomoko in a depressed mood.

**************************************************************************************

Oh, I actually like to go out at sundown and return home before dinner. That's what I do, since I enjoy the breeze, and thankfully Tokyo has it.

That encounter in Suzuka a while back... Hiroyuki Hiramoto. Somehow, I felt that I should have a rematch. It's like my pride got offended. But driving the car was a whole new experience, and as a matter of fact, I have applied for a driver's license, and sessions should start next week.

I decided to cross the Sumida River through this beautiful big bridge. And... wait, what is Tomoko doing there? Is the view that great? But she looks rather gloomy, compared to her cheerful look a while ago.

Michiharu: "Tomoko?"

Tomoko: "Michiharu-kun! Oh..."

Michiharu: "Is everything okay? It's like you've just wiped your tears."

Tomoko: "Nothing... Hey, I just want to cheer up. How about a drive?"

No way, she's asking me for that? We're not that close, yet she talks to me like we are. Well, I guess she can be a good friend.

Michiharu: "Ummmmm.... uh... sure."

Okay... just be back home in time for dinner. I don't know, maybe that's impossible.

Tomoko: "Let's go, shall we?"

We headed to the outskirts of the city. I'm sure Uncle and Auntie are worrying about me right now. Then she decided to climb up the hills.

Then she steps on it. Whoa!

12220959063_799f8cf379_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Driving can be fun! You really should get a license."

Michiharu: "After the session from Suzuka, I immediately applied for one."

Tomoko: "Oh, have you encountered Hiroyuki-san back there? I think I saw your GT-R."

Michiharu: "That was me driving. You can laugh at me for being so pathetic."

Tomoko: "At least you tried chasing him. Sigh... if only..."

Michiharu: "What's wrong?"

Tomoko: "He does not have time for me. I have a crush on him... but maybe it's time for me to be realistic."

Michiharu: "So I guess that's why you're sad at the bridge."

Tomoko: "He rejected me, and I kinda expected him to say that. But at the same time, it hurt my feelings. No wonder he is alone. He's focused too much..."

Michiharu: "I think a man should put an effort in returning a woman's feelings. You don't deserve someone like him."

Wow, did I just say that? As if you'll get to attract Tomoko with what you said. IDIOT! You idiotic Michiharu!

Tomoko: "I think I'm taking it too fast. I'll just wait for the right man..."

12221179434_d6bc25a7cf_c.jpg

She has good control over her car. Uncle mentioned that her car is difficult to control. For her, however, it's like an extension of her body.

12221176934_fc9c9e6b00_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Once you got your license, you can now drive wherever you feel like. It's like having the true sense of freedom. And when you go faster, you crave for more!"

She's right... That's how I felt when I am at the helm of speed. It's like you want it on your side forever.

And then, she is precise on her steering control at the next curve! Impressive! I wish I can be that good...

12220774115_572f18ebb3_c.jpg

Tomoko: "Whew... that was actually close. One wrong move, and I can end up oversteering this car."

Michiharu: "You are a great driver."

Tomoko: "You too... and a great friend as well."

Friend? A great friend? What do I have that made her say that? I'm not rich, nor own a supercar. Plus, she has clearly seen my laughable racing skills.

**************************************************************************************

The next day, I tagged along with Uncle at the shopping mall. I have to help him out carry the new television for our house.

And while having successfully put the TV in the car, I saw Hiroyuki's white Toyota parked just beside us. And I saw a man approaching it. That could probably be him.

Koichi: "That's Hiroyuki Hiramoto!"

Michiharu: "I see."

Hiroyuki: "This must have been the GT-R I've encountered at Suzuka yesterday. I recognize the plate number."

Koichi: "Pardon us, if..."

Hiroyuki: "I don't really laugh nor take notice of people I have defeated. But I get rather too excited whenever I see a GT-R, pardon me if my pace was too much."

Then I approached at him... and a punch follows. Yes, I punched him on the face. I feel rage... not because he offended my pride, but

...I did it for her. What's this feeling? Why am I angry for Tomoko?

Koichi: "MICHIHARU!"

Michiharu: "I'll shall let my humiliating defeat pass, but I did it because you just hurt a girl's feelings! You can't just reject them like that! Don't you even know how to return their feelings, not even a bit!?

Living up to your title makes you as rotten as my father! You may have great driving skills, but you are pathetic as a person!"

That... felt good. But that was unnecessary, either. Really, why do I have to get angry for her sake? Is it because...

...I have feelings for her? No... we just knew each other. Perhaps that's how I value my friends.

End of Page 4

You all have to wait until Monday for the next page.

Hiroyuki isn't a bad guy after all. And the reason behind his Lone Wolf persona will be explained in the story.

Takuma was an anti-hero for just a short time, then he has slowly changed after being defeated by Takanori up until his current hero role.

Anyways, Hiroyuki will play a big role again in the upcoming Dream Alliance 3.

Page 5 - Rift

I punched him out of anger... and concern. Looking at Hiroyuki's bloodied mouth... oh boy, it must have been too much. After all, I'm that strong as a result of my past.

Looking at him, there is a small glimmer of pity I have. I think he had undergone something painful too, to achieve his lone wolf personality.

But that does not give him the right to shun others, especially at women, and people who care for him after all.

Koichi: "Michiharu, stop it! I'm sorry Hiroyuki-san."

Hiroyuki: "No need. I deserve it. Finally, someone who stood up and beat some sense to me."

Michiharu: "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Hiroyuki: "What happened to me, is none of your business. I grew up this way, and I embrace it."

Michiharu: "Really? I hope you have a promising career ahead of you, and I hope you are contented of being alone."

And then I pointed at him...

Michiharu: "And... I swear to god. I will take you down. One day, I shall defeat you!"

Wow... so brave of you. Back it up, okay?

Hiroyuki: "There you have it. I'm your motivation. I expect a much better and faster GT-R when we run next time. Go ahead, I accept your challenge. Come at me when you're ready."

Michiharu: "I'll just show to you how wrong you are..."

Hiroyuki leaves. Nothing else to say, we left too and headed home.

The TV was easy to set. Auntie is now happy that she can watch her soap operas once again. Meanwhile, I am outside, and then Uncle handed me a bottle of water.

Koichi: "Cool down. Here, have a drink."

Michiharu: "Sorry for the way I acted. Even I find it ridiculous."

Koichi: "Sometimes, rage can't be controlled. I understand ya. Let me guess, you have a...?"

Michiharu: "She's just a friend of mine. I'm just concerned, especially when he easily rejected her."

Koichi: "Oh ho ho... It's more than just concern that you were able to punch him."

Speaking of her, well, Tomoko suddenly shows up. Why?

Tomoko: "Looking at your GT-R's license plate, you must live here. And it's true you run a hardware store as well."

Koichi: "Oh Tomoko-san! What brings you here?"

Tomoko: "I could use better tool kits for my car. I must have lost some from the original tool set."

While Uncle goes inside the store to look, she looks at my right hand. What's on it?

Tomoko: "Your hand is red. Why?"

Michiharu: "I punched someone... and that's Hiroyuki."

Tomoko: "Why did you do that?"

Michiharu: "You may or may not like what I did, but you deserve his apology. And he's still rotten to the core even if he has fame."

She smiled at me. Really, you find that impressive?

Tomoko: "I like you... I like your brave and blunt personality. You're not afraid of standing up for others, and at least you told him off."

She... LIKES ME???

Michiharu: "But knowing your rather energetic personality, you should also have the courage to tell him there's something wrong in him. I thought you want to empower women through your career, and you should be able to stand up for them."

Tomoko: "You're right. Maybe I should be more firm. Hey, have you started driving school?"

Michiharu: "Next week. A part of me is excited about it."

Tomoko: "Driving will be fun, I promise you that. And I'm sure you'll be able to pass it easily! Good luck!"

Ben's black LP400 once again runs at the rather empty Route 7.

12287449524_1d691b3981_c.jpg

Ben: "Power increased to 409 horsepower, weight reduced to 950 kilograms. Ideal numbers, I must say."

12287446204_70f3f8e6a4_c.jpg

Ben: "This car can reach its top speed faster, and the new suspension setup makes this car surprisingly stable.

I like the changes... and I need them...

...shall I face him once again. Even though I ran away, fate shall bring me to that person once again. And I'm prepared for it!"

A race is about to conclude in the streets of Rome. It's just part of a point-to-point marathon that crosses all over Europe.

Crossing the line first is a red Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, a supercar that only a few are able to match.

As it stopped, the driver immediately heads out. He takes off his helmet, showing a balding white hair and a face with some wrinkles. He may have looked aged, but his driving skills betray his age.

A reporter comes at him, attempting to gather information.

"Sir Shaw McCarthy, what are your thoughts of your son's sudden disappearance in the European racing scene?"

Sir Shaw: "Let him be. Who am I to take away his freedom? But he shall come crawling back to me, and I can tell it."

SPECIAL SECTION:

With the rather short page 5, I shall treat you with a glimpse of what's to come in Dream Alliance 3. Though this bit will not appear in the story, it is just one among the few scenes that happened before the story starts. And some readers have already seen those EXCLUSIVE ACCESS special pages.

Location: Route 5, Tokyo
Time: 9:00 pm

While it is expected a street race will happen, no one showed up, however.

But only one car is running around the loop...

Nobuyuki:
"Wooohooooo!!! This feels great!"

Turns out that Nobuyuki Hiramoto is testing his brand-new and tuned SRT Viper GTS. He acquired the car last month from the dealership. Tagging along is his little brother.

Nobuhiko: "Wait, you've tuned this already within the warranty?"

Nobuyuki: "Nah, who cares about it? If you can fix it on your own, then why not? It will save you time from going to the dealership, plus it's all thanks to tuning shops that specialize on cars like this!"

Nobuhiko: "So what are the modifications, then?"

Nobuyuki: "Only on the chassis. The power is already intoxicating to me. The suspension and LSD were changed, and I adjusted them according to my preferences."

Nobuhiko:
"You look as excited as the day you got this car a month ago."

Nobuyuki: "When this car debuted last year, I immediately fell in love with it! I thought to myself that I should get one, no matter what. It looks as lovely as my original Viper GTS. I'm not too fond on the previous generation, though. Thankfully this car looked like the original Viper! Chrysler Japan limited its distribution of Vipers to around a hundred a year, and I wasted no effort making it through the list! Ha!"

Nobuhiko: "Oh, I haven't seen your other Viper lately, have you sold it?"

Nobuyuki: "I didn't. And now my 2 Vipers start my day right when I see them, shining brightly in the garage! Always!

Nobuyuki brakes and performs the heel-and-toe while downshifting. His smile is getting bigger as he corners the car.

Nobuyuki: "This thing turns! Well, it already corners well in stock form, but I intend the modifications for track use!"

He looks at his little brother, and he noticed Nobuhiko's spaced out look He has been spaced out and is unaffected with the strong G-forces.

Nobuyuki: "Something wrong? You're spacing out."

Nobuhiko: "I'm just thinking deeply, and well, there is a reason why I tagged along with you tonight."

Nobuhiko: "I wonder what will I say to Oyaji in the upcoming housewarming day?"

Nobuyuki: "What? You're kinda nervous."

Nobuhiko: "You will be the first person to know about this, and I am already nervous."

Nobuyuki: "Hey, spill it. I'm your big brother, and I'm willing to listen. After all, we have 15 years to catch up."

Nobuhiko tells everything, and that revelation takes Nobuyuki by surprise.

Nobuyuki: "You what?!?"

END

And sorry to say, this is the only thing I can spill. :sly:
