There are some clever, amusing, or just plain funny car adverts out there these days, and over the years so lets stick them in here!

I'll get the ball rolling.

Subaru takes shot at VW with new ad

Subaru has used a new full-page ad to take a shot at rival Volkswagen and its “Fast” advertising campaign. The television commercials and print ads show a single shot of the Subaru WRX Sti with the caption, “When you go 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, you don’t need a made-up character called Fast. It’s what makes a Subaru, a Subaru.” One must wonder if Subaru was a little peeved by Volkswagen’s Unpimp Your Auto ad campaign, which mock hood scoops and spoilers.

The RS6 outdoor ad makes no sence to me. Maybe if the car was there...

Oh, now I get it...it's a speed camera. They look different than what we use over in my neck of the woods; it looks more like a birdhouse.

I like BMW's "No" ad. It's very austere, and to the point.

The "Joe Isuzu" ads from 1986-87 were quite memorable at first, they sounded a lot like the "ludicrous claims", except they were subtitled with the truth.

Yeah, I figured out the speed camera ad right away. What I could NOT figure out, at all, was the inexplicable presence of a 1973 Buick Riviera in England.

For a moment there, I thought that pic had to be from Massachusets, or perhaps Virginia, as the foliage and the sight of an old Buick coupe (?) couldn't possibly occur across the pond.

Perhaps it was rebadged as an Opel? :)

Thats definetly in Europe, in the background you can kinda make out the shape of the licence plates.

👍

That car must be a real pain in the ass to drive over there, I just hope it has power steering. :dopey:

How about some classic iron?

I *WISH* a new economy car looked this good and was this cheap!

That BMW/Audi/Subaru trio is priceless :D

Here's irony in action:

Kudos to anyone who can find authentic supercar ads (from the manufacturer, not a specialist dealer). I can't find so much as a Ferrari ad anywhere. Porsche is around, but I can't find any 959 ads, although I know they exist.

They're very rare, but there were ads for the Countach and Diablo. Ironically, I've only heard of the Countach ad being seen in Miami magazines, and the Diablo only in the very early 90's.
I'll see what I can find on them.

EDIT* Well, this does look like a Gallardo Ad.

EDIT 2*
Ferrari 360 Modena Commercial.
http://www.stevegainer.com/ferrari.html
Supposedly, Ferrari is filming an ad with a 599 GTB and F40 in it.
Here she is. Shots of the commercial being filmed outside Vegas.

2003 Lamborghini Murcielago Commercial.

Lamborghini's website should have the longer version of this in which the 2 Murcielagos battle it out.
Yep, and they have 4 movies of it and other models as well.

And my last edit. Lamborghini now has it's own magazine, so I'll check my dealer soon to see what ads it may contain.

Traditionally, Enzo used racing as the sole source of advertisement for his cars. Then again, that's all he made them for :)

As much as I dislike the Mercedes GL-class, I think their crash-test ad is easily the best ad on TV today – the first time I saw it, I literally burst out laughing (which I almost never do when watching TV, by the way). Too bad the NAD has its collective head so far up its ass it can’t see what an awesome commercial this is.

 👍

The Toyota one is a ripoff of somebody else's, where a couple keeps getting up earlier and earlier in order to be the first one to get the car. Mercury Mountaineer, maybe? Kinda reminds me of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, too!

LOL at the last ad with the couple meeting each other at the stoplight!

Great adverts everyone 👍

Here is a Datsun advert that I find pretty interesting as they show all the models available at the time for that paticular market.

Here are some good classic trucks:

1931 Chevrolet Six Sedan Delivery (note that was during prohibition, and what Anheuser-Bush is delivering, a.k.a not beer)...

Chevrolet Trucks for 1955 (note the Nomad is actually a car. BTW: Thats the red one)
