Thank God we are all ok ( we live far enought from there ) , just some times you became shocked how fast the " evil " spread and leave behind only tragety.

Yes, everyone drives the lotus and the scion around the same track then post both times, the car which you get to go the fastest gets your point.

I also fix my garage yesterday ( was full and move some cars to stockyard ) to by the 2 battle cars and give them some rounds.
Quite intersting and very fun with the Lotus , both capable to run at 54s , both are smokey and totaly different style of driving .
One is easier and seems faster in first place , the other became faster when you raise the fun factor .

Post your times for the BATTLES, remember you can tune the cars.
 
What do you mean Bruce by " post your times" for the battle ?

Both battle cars run at TC 0 and ABS 1 , in FR S need early braking cause of the weight and i use high gearing ( 1-2 gear ) to avoid spins .
On the other one the weight watchers Lotus , late braking and just control the slide ,the frond end its like have glue . Mates with wheel will love that behavior.

So @bjl23 and @fordlaser are doing BATTLE but is up to you guys (@RMan72, @lfm58, @smoothbore12, @Racin510s, @skeagracing, @Nismonath5 and @Lilium)
To race the cars and you guys decide who wins the BATTLE by posting your times, the car with the most fastest time wins.

@smoothbore12 has done his and the LOTUS was fastest for him so @bjl23 gets 1 point.

By the way very close times captain piston, that's the way I like it.
I'm gettin' there, hold your horses! Just got a lot on my plate at the moment as far as real life as well, so hopefully I can have a decent jam either today or tomorrow.

I didn't mean to out pressure on you, I was just trying to clear the air.

Also it would be good if we were to share our tunes we used for the BATTLES, as you guys are not racing against each other.

Sorry that wasn't meant to sound angry or anything. :boggled: I should have something for y'all this afternoon, but if not then it won't be till like tomorrow some time.
 
Gave the battle a go, thing is I only remembered AFTER I ran the FRS that I could also add body parts and spoilers to help with handling, and I couldn't really be arsed doing more tuning on it this time of the night..

So at this point a bit of a curb stomp in the Lotus' favour for that very reason, hopefully I get another go later on. :D

Handsome ...... i start at 2.47 to 2.45. both cars .
After tuning and gearing i touch the 43 s trying to find the right style for each car.
As about " cut" , i just get close to the wall in the first turn and almost get it straight , everything else is as it is.
Not gain that much , i saw 13s plus in first sector but in the battle above always was in 14s mid.
The Lotus was harder than the FR S cause i had to control sliding in every corner, but was much more fun .
The FR S its all about brake straight and put it after in the corner , if you late the inertia of his weight push it out of line understeering .
Just try to give a fair chance in both cars , ill post my tunes later.

Sorry for my absence guys, got a bit side tracked with Bloodborne and GTS, plus this week i'm celebrating 2y of marriage, so my wife is also stealing me from the virtual world. :lol: I'll battle it out tomorrow morning. But I have a fear the Lotus will succeed,

@Lilium have a happy anniversary and cherish each one,:cheers: they go by fast. 38 going on 39 years for us. In my case you are so right about the Lotus. Give me a lotus any day over a Japanese car except a 510 and the 240, 260, 280 Zs. The Lotus 111 I used has a @shaunm80 tune, 3098 miles, 42 changes and 27 wins. Went TC0 first race all 3 laps under a minutes went back to TC1 and was faster. I think the Scion is too heavey power /weight. For me I could run times as fast a my first Lotus lap but nothing faster. I ended up using the 6 speed.
 
From what i see Bruce has the upper hand right now.
With the BR S i was quicker in first place till i " fix" the throttle steering with the lotus and the first place for Lotus was just luck cause its so close both.
I think BR S is a bit underestimated , at least at that track can fight the small princess.
 
Time with both Cars, while still alot of Room for improvement, the Lotus has the upperhand on such a tight track, and if i kept going, the Lotus would still win.

Tomorrow its time for the stock and lemon times, and tunes for the battle

1 hour session giving these results by relevant 450PP car setup available @ @Bowtie-muscle tuning thread.

Scion FR-S '12 SPECS: 450PP - 1.998CC - FR/AN - 52:48 - 1.100KG - 259CV@7300G/MIN - 257.8NM@7000G/MIN - 4.24KG/CV
Lotus Elise 111R '04 SPECS: 450PP - 1.796CC - MR/AN - 44:56 - 900KG - 226CV@7900G/MIN - 212.1NM@7500G/MIN - 3.98KG/CV

Here are the changes applied on original tuning (for comparison purpose same changes on same setup author):
- Shorter gearing, i.e. FG up for 200kmh/h as max speed on track (Elise FG4.400, Scion FG4.800)
- Full downforce: 0/20
As you may know Elise is more difficult to drive especially by pad but getting confidence lap-by-lap can be faster.
I didn't use avaiable Tsukuba TT Elise setup that could be even faster around Stowe…

Bit of an improvement in both cars... specifically the Lotus which is surprising given how frantically chaotic the race was!!! (Wait till you see the vid. You'll understand what I mean!)

Hard work, this battle! Tuning, maximising the use of the laughing gas, and keeping the lines perfect were tricky to get right all at once, but I'm happy with the result! Even if it was pretty nitrous-dependant... (years of no-tune racing at COTW means NOS isn't my favourite aspect of racing, but I get that sometimes it's the only way to really get those extra seconds...)

Didn't get an improvement in the no tune challenge, so wont bother posting the time I did, cos spoiler alert. It was slower :lol: I tend to struggle racing FF in video games (Ironically I ace racing FF in real life. Go figure)

As for the Lemon challenge, I've kinda run out of puff for the night so won't be contesting it.

I'm sorry, and honoured that it was based on what I do and the invite was there, but the times I did try it I didn't win the race, and I'm at that point in the night where tiredness sets in and I lose my competitive edge. :guilty:

Bring on the new challenges, though! And of course I should have vids for you guys soon! :cheers:
