So the racers of the Colorado 1000 arrived in Vail today. They are all staying here at the hotel I work at. I beleive that the event has been sponsored by Mercedes.

The Colorado 1000 is a one thousand mile trip through the Colorado Rockies, touring from ski resort to ski resort in vintage cars and racers! It's a 15 day journey that is escorted by the Colorado State Patrol. The State Patrol will guide the racers along public roads and when deemed "safe" will let the racers break loose and violate the motor vehicle laws.

As Doug will surely notice, there were some special license plates issued to all the participants that are only valid for the 15 days of the event so that these non-streetlegal cars can drive on public roads.

One noteable participant of the Colorado 1000 is Jerry Seinfeild. He is claiming to have the fastest and lightest car participating. It's a very beautiful Porsche RSK.

Here are the pics. Some are not of the greatest quality. Sorry. 56k'ers, good luck. :(

This is the hood of a Ferrari. Unfortunately I didn't get any more pics of it due to that pesky work thing getting in my way. Had to feed all these car owners. :irked:
