The Mach e is not a top peed monster, but what it is is shockingly good at the corners...and acceleration (the latter being expected, the former ain't)

I gave it a try for some races in custom mode and did extremely good times, top 50 overall for several events, and I imagine a lot of the times above me were done by people slipstreaming in a convoy. One race I tried it for was Touge Spirit in the Made in Japan playlist, as I thought what you described would be great for that, and I was 6 seconds quicker than with the Audi or Porsche. I think Ryno had 4th on the leaderboard with it for that event. The Audi still has the top spot, and I can only think that is with 1) slipstream and 2) manual with clutch hack, as the gear shifts are so slow that I can't see any other way it can match the Mach e, as the Mach e saves so much time in between corners due to the lack of shifting.
I also tried it for Wangan Spirit, which it should be worse for due to how much of it is done at high speed, but even for that I was top 100 as it gets up to its limited top speed so fast after each bit that drops the speed down.
I just discovered this website via someone mentioning it in Discord, it shows the upcoming grand race schedule, which is incredibly useful if you like, for example, no collision races without any off-road sections. It also has a link to a map that shows the treasure locations.

Edit: Okay, 19:30 came, and the Mach-E was basically pay to win for the fairly technical second leg, I built up a significant lead from having 2 other cars close to me at the end of the first leg. Bear in mind they would have had slipstream with each other all the way for 2/3rds of the race, vs me driving solo at the front, but they were still over 3 seconds behind me. So, if you have the car, enjoy it for the next few days before everyone has it. It's so good for repeated acceleration that it's going to make choosing the right car for the specific route extremely important in grand races from now on.

I hope so the last summit was pretty easy i only had one go on each event and was still in the top 3k when i checked in today 🤔 (i was away trying Assetto Corsa EVO on the pc certainly different lol )The game still selling well on both sides of the pond on PS5

I play on PC with dualsense, and it's amazing, IMO the absolute best driving game for controller, but you do need to get the right settings, it took me months to nail them all.
Difficulty:
Many types of car are fine with TC off, or on sport, but some really need it on comfort for best performance, and you can't set it per car or per category, so I leave it on comfort. ESP you absolutely cannot set to comfort, it will slow you down enormously. Sport seems to cause very little slowdown compared to off. IMO you definitely want counter steering assist off.
Controls:
There is a lot of room for personal preference, but I get pretty high up on leaderboards and have won many grand races with those settings. The obscurely named "dynamic max lock" appears to be sensitivity when counter steering. If you find the car over-correcting when you countersteer and going into a slide in the opposite direction, lower it. If you find you can't correct oversteer and it won't straighten up from a slide, increase it.
If you want to be really hard core, direct mode ultimately gives you the best control, but IMO it makes countersteering really difficult. It's worth trying sensitivity 100, I might have a go at increasing it from 80 myself now that I've become very comfortable with 80.
People go on about how good Forza is with controller, but with the above settings, I find Motorfest massively better than Forza, Forza just feels painfully sluggish to me now.
Oh, also, I've turned the trigger feedback down to zero. What they've done with the dualsense haptic trigger feedback for braking is really impressive, but I've found it makes me under-brake for corners and I do better with it turned off.
Edit: Oh and some other things it's easy to forget new players won't know - how to set cars up:
You often want to move the brake balance more to the rear to make the car steer better under braking. 50% is a good starting point.
You always want to make the wheels as far apart as possible. This is generally done by changing the front and rear fender parts, but on some cars it can be another part such as bumper that moves the wheels. You just have to look at the options for each car and make the wheels as far apart as possible.
A good starting point for tuning is to move the ARBs all the way to the right, and the cambers all the way to the left. Most cars are fine with no changes but these, but you can try more detailed settings, e.g. Akor and Militia on YouTube both share settings.
Tyres also make a difference to how far apart the wheels are, but the default tyres aren't terrible, and you can't easily buy the best tyres. One of the joint best tyres is the Roffo Red Line, you might be able to spot a car with them in the custom show, and if you buy the car from the custom show you'll get the tyres, but they cost 10k crew credits. If the car has any other changes, it might cost more. If you want to get the tyres for 10k crew credits (which you can get for free from doing challenges in the game) we can arrange a time of day when I'll put a car in the custom show that you can buy them from.

Gotta say this weeks summit is a stinker helicopters and boats eww, the last boat race in particular had me thinking we're being trolled massive understeer/low visibility/high winds... sigh.

I liked the first rally event that was cool and i needed a reason to play the boats more but when i saw i had to "get to tha choppa" my ❤️ sank hehe

it's nice but I'd rather if they fix multiplayer... I mean game is called crew and its almost impossible to actually find crew to drive around and maybe do playlist races.. also they should make pvp better with lobbies or something... otherwise game is not bad, I'm not fan of physics but whatever, its not a sim... one thing also I'd like them to fix is that we can get random cars on every custom playlist and not just race same cars all the time.... and ye, they need to buff the bikes imo

MP was messed up in my last race i joined a col off race although when the race started it was on we were in F1 cars i passed through the gate to change cars and a f1 car came out the forest up the road past the gate and didn't change. Everyone seemed to ram him off but he past me near the end i was 8th he was still in 23rd ahead of me 🙃

This doesn't make sense to me, sorry. It's not that difficult to find a crew. You just need to invite players you want in your crew. And of course they need to accept your invitation. But if no one wants to join your crew is not Ivory fault.
Maybe you meant de sinc (players (randoms) suddenly disappearing)?
Cars are sorted based on performance and mileage. That is why the same first car appear when you start a custom race. If you make it random you would still had to manually transfer all the parts. Which would make your fix useless. You can already change car and parts manually.

Glad I got the previous 2 weeks premium on the Summit though, didn’t have the Aurora Borealis nitro yet and that Fire and Lightning underglow. Now I got got both mini “sets” of those vanities complete. 😇
Really wanting this week’s intrepid outdoors tire as well from the custom show since I don’t have that one yet either and it must look great on off-road explorer vehicles. But since I am already top 50 on Xbox with 11 votes that should not be a problem.
I got TCM (standard edition) on PC as well on heavy sale a few weeks ago. Now I have 3 platforms to do the custom show on. Last week I got platinum on all 3, and receiving all those tier bonuses 3 times sure adds up (especially bucks, XP etc).

Overall, it all sounds decent, though not amazingly exciting, I'll have to wait to see exactly how the grand race changes work and whether it means there's choice or if there'll still only be one configuration you can do at a given time.

Having fully polished off the custom mode races, been getting back into something way more chill... doing up cars and snapping em. Looking forward now to some new playlist action on march the 5th!

Mainly, some vehicles weren't turning very well at high speeds, or their top speed was not up to par with their vehicular counterparts."
It seems possible that they want to shake up the meta a bit every season.
I saw this info in the previous leaks, it wasn't clear to me what exactly they mean, and it still isn't clear to me now:
"Gear Shifting is now more consistent between automatic and manual modes.
We've fine-tuned the shifting parameters. The manual clutch was previously faster than the automatic, but now both options should be competitive with each other."
The game has 4 options for gear shifting, with only the first two available to controller users who aren't using cheat software:
The wording in the first part of what they say suggests they're making Automatic competitive with Sequential, but the second part suggests they're making Sequential and H-Shifter competitive with H-Shifter + Manual Clutch. Again, we'll have to wait and see. For what it's worth, for this week's summit events with the Lancia rally car, I found sequential to be significantly faster than automatic, e.g. for the fog event I never used 1st or 2nd gear after the start, it seems to be faster to accelerate out of corners in 3rd or 4th, with the benefit of continuous NOS without the shifting pause outweighing the longer gear ratio (I'm just outside the top 200 for that event at the moment, without any major cuts, and no resets).

These refinements are positive it will make the summits a bit more meaningful now, unfair competition has been getting on my tits. I'm no slouch at this game, but have had no desire to win by any means necessary either. Ive been curious after 1100 hours now, how good I genuinely am relative to other players of the game?, you really couldn't get an accurate measure of it as it was.Another chunk of Season 6 info:

I would get a chuckle out of seeing the cheaters who have skewed the leaderboards get their profile's reset, that TTVMusicmaker guy that must run the game on an automated system 24/7 to top the charts, im talking about you lol

You'll still have the problem of people being able to do summit events with slipstream, but if you know someone has done a time solo because you've seen them do it in a YouTube video, hopefully it will now be a fair comparison.

I've actually come to enjoy the two helicopter summit events this week, having done them on 4 accounts. At first, on my main account, I got the parts up to the max number and even spent some of my vast number of spare parts on merging to get some gold parts and recalibrating to get gateway and perfectionist. I was around 16000th on the leaderboard, I could hardly ever get a "perfect" pass through a gate.
Now I've done them on 4 accounts, and done multiple runs on each account to get the parts to higher numbers, I can get around top 300 without even being at the max part number. It feels pretty good to become so much better at something I was so bad at to start with.

The chopper certainly handles better than in other games, truly woeful handling in GTAV by comparison. What's the first game you played that featured a helicopter? For me it was this... good times!
