Some news on upcoming new cars:


Going to need some credits to get the RB20, I'll probably just get it on my main account first, to test it vs the other RBs and only get it on the other accounts if it seems better in some way.
 
It's a bit painful to do, but I just scrolled down the summit to see the scores needed every 1000 places:

2000th 1366k
3000th 1347k
4000th 1333k

10000th 1242k

108k players are on the summit leaderboard. The lowest participation event is the one you need the Terzo for, with 29k.

My feeling is that with how close the scores are every 1000 places, there are significantly more than 10k people putting in a decent attempt to get the Nevera Time Attack.
 
When's the next motorfest server maintenance ? i hope it's not 9am on the 5th grrrrrrrrrr

I was wrong thinking 1.2 would be enough. I first tried the Summit without a full nitro set and with my skills I just can't get past 1.25m (with the full set I can get 1.35m). That and Terzo being expensive lead me to believe 1.2m would be enough. Obviously I was wrong.
I also forgot how difficult a Summit is for those that are not fast enough. While those that are constantly in the top 5k think how easy this Summit is those that are around 10k are fighting for every millisecond. And one can only imagine how disappointed one can be finding himself in 10001st spot after putting hours into it.
I still believe Summits should be score based not position based. And the person who run the media for Ivory should stop saying stuff like "don't miss the opportunity to get the latest Summit car" and instead says something like "are you one of the top 10% fastest players that can get the car? No? Get gud!!" 🤣

Yes, it's a tricky one. One thing that killed Forza Motorsport for me is the absence of the bounty hunter rivals. It was the only element of FM7 I enjoyed. But for the majority of people, the challenge is never set at the right level. For me, getting platinum in Motorfest is too easy, for others it will be impossible. The number of people that get the right level of challenge from it, where it takes some effort, but is achievable, will be a small proportion of the player base. All the same, for me personally, I prefer it over FH5 participation based gameplay, which for me is just a boring chore. Wreckfest at one point changed from a similar system to Motorfest, to a score-based target, and it killed the game for me.

But for the top 5000 it already is a participation trophy. And if they put a score to reach you could still experiment with different combinations. And I don't mean make it easy. Put a hard to reach score.
The thing is, if I know the target I know how hard I need to go from day one. Instead now I have no clue. Will 1.3m be enough? I need to work, study, rest... on Tuesday night so I can't check.. Or the guy in 10005 spot can have the same score as the guy in 10000 feeling like someone robbed him.
Bounty hunter rivals worked like a hard score if I'm not mistaken. You needed to beat a ghost to get top prize. Or not?
 
This weeks summit has been one of the harder ones I've redone them a few times just to be sure I'd make it and ended up in the top 6k with 1.3k points
Have you watched a video to see the cuts? There are a few that save quite a bit of time. I didn't do all the resets that Trigger advocates, as I can't be bothered to memorise that I should reset the 4th and 7th corners but not the 5th and 6th or whatever, but I used the major cuts and got 1.42m.

Another tip I'd give is don't gutter too much. In a hypercar, putting two wheels on the dirt scrubs a huge amount of speed off, so you want to keep all 4 wheels on the tarmac unless you need the loss of speed to take the corner.

Bounty hunter rivals worked like a hard score if I'm not mistaken. You needed to beat a ghost to get top prize. Or not?
You had to beat a celebrity, and they were sometimes very good, I think you had to be in the top 1% for some of them. The celebrity could keep improving their time, though I think they generally refrained from trying to improve their time too close to the end.

Oh, yeah now I remember. Beating Newgarden the first day just to end up 5 sec behind 3 days later. I never beat him the last day. 😭

Noob question are the "Challenges" like the "Hobbies" in TC2, or is that the "Feats"? Or is it neither?

I've noticed the "Ultimate" edition is currently on sale on Xbox and am tempted. However, this is the second "Ultimate" edition of TCM. The first one included Y1. This one includes Y1 and Y2. So, should i expect another "Ultimate" edition next year including Y1 Y2 & Y3? And the year after that...? At what point does the "Ultimate" edition actually become "Ultimate", should I just wait for the "Complete" or "Really really Ultimate this is the last one honest guv" edition to appear... 🤔

The chase squad content is worth having, I would jump on board now as there is a lot to do at this stage and Ive just had a mooch at the new track added today its rather nice... snooze ya lose! This has been my daily driver since it launched and I have every driving game to choose from... its very enjoyable! The challenges are easy ways to grab cash, there is a lot of variety some are treasure hunts others point to point drives or specific vehicle races.

Challenges are like accolades in FH5. Do a task and progress towards a reward.

Feats are just skills from TC2. Slalom, escape, speed trap. I don't know why they changed it.

IMO you don't really need either of the two year passes. They help a bit with credits by giving you the cars without needing to spend credits, but that's about it. You get a week's early access to the year 2 pass cars. Right now, on Steam, sale prices are:
  • base game £18
  • year 1 pass £10
  • year 2 pass £20
You can always just get the base game and if you really want the year passes, get them when they're on sale again. Note, though, that you don't get a refund if you buy cars with in-game credits then later buy the pass that would have given you them for free. That's about the only reason I can see to get the passes up front.

You get pretty much everything just from the base game, which is insane value compared to what FH5 costs now if you want access to every car. There are some cars you can only get via owning the passes but none of them seem to be meta, nor do you ever need them to access anything else.

Well just done 4 hours straight on the new content, love it. Thanks ubisoft for the effort it really shows... the Red Bull Park lit at night is really impressive. Good times.

Managed to get the summit platinum without using cheap resets or gear cheats. I was a little disappointed that resetting was not sorted out in the patch notes, but if I can get platinum without it iam content for now. Trouble is without the gearing scam more folks will gravitate towards resetting going forward. In an ideal world for meaningful competition we need track limits and rewind needs to be forced on summits.

Did they change the car list filter in the garage ? my cars are all over the place they used to keep the fully upgraded cars near the top but not any longer :confused:
This whole update was an amazing experience with lots of but why.
I love the playground, the new playlist races with different routes, the map changes, even the new handling.
But why did they mess up the garage sorting system? It doesn't make any sense now?
Why did they left deadzones for controllers at 40. I thought at first the handling was broken.
They are trying to fix the Custom Show but all they did was changing the Report to Report Player. And they reversed the like order. In case two players got the same amount of ❤️ the one that got the vote last wins. It doesn't make sense.

Anyway we are getting a new Jet plane. But what is a Motocross doing in a Boat race? Jet Ski?

They are trying to fix the Custom Show but all they did was changing the Report to Report Player.
The garage sorting change is apparently not intended, i.e. a bug.

They have changed the custom show. It used to put your car in fairly soon after registering, but it seems it now randomly selects cars from the total pool of registered cars. This means people can no longer vote for friends. I registered cars on my 4 accounts last night, and after 40 minutes none of them had appeared in the show, so I can no longer vote for my own cars from other accounts. I'm not sure what the point of them doing this is, as it means there is no point anyone ever voting for any car but their own now. If you vote for any other car, you are just pushing yourself down the rankings.

Another problem with the custom show changes is you'll no longer be able to buy vanities you want, as you can't arrange a time for someone to put a car in there so you can buy the vanity when the car appears. I'd like the golden stripes tyres, and you can get them in TC2 this week, but it would be impossible for me to make them available to my other accounts (or another user of this forum) in TCM now.

Looks like the number of cars that are at least reasonably close to meta has greatly increased.

I've been trying out some of the improved cars, such as the Supra Ryujin Edition and Huayra Rubicone Edition, and they do seem greatly improved and pretty decent now. I did the last event in the Made in Japan playlist, which uses the Ryujin Supra, and went 7 seconds faster than before.

I always found it a bit odd that these reward cars were so bad, like, you put the effort into completing a playlist or a mainstage legacy, get this special car, try it out, and it's just terrible, so I think it's a great change that these cars are now decent.
