Anyways, I'm using my 2 Grand Race events each week to use new vehicles I haven't driven before. It turns out, the Sakura edition Mazda was worth getting. Instead of my usual 23/28, I ended up gaining 10 places in the Sakura in the middle stage and ended with my best result!

Which instantly cleared a load of "finish top 15" challenges

The next week will be hard work in both TC2 and TCM as I don't have any Koenigseggseggsegg and the event in TC2 wants 2.2m so that's not happening...
It'll be a case of banking the credits I earn and moving on to May.

Shrewd avoiding the expensive Keggs I had buyer's remorse when i purchased the hypercar variants i think the race car type was the better drive.

Right, yes, I meant to mention I gave it a bit of a try in Motorfest and concluded it's pretty decent. Haven't done an extensive comparison, but did one custom mode race with it and wasn't that far behind the electric Mustang time I had on the leaderboard.

I somehow had 5 votes from people who aren't me, so my custom show entry was in the top 10, 5 days into this week's custom show!

Those are the Green Fury tyres that were totally OP in TC2 when I started playing the game, but I didn't have them. When they next became available to buy, they fixed them at the same time, so not only were they no longer OP, they were no longer even joint best. But I still bought them, just to have the tyre that had been completely broken and OP in my collection.

I did a run through all the TC2 summit events on my main account and was 143rd with 1342k after one try at each event, apart from the escape where my first attempt was a bit weak so I had a 2nd go. Lowest score on an alt account is 100k below that. Not sure if I'll want to grind the credits on all accounts to get the Lucky-One Marble Edition next week (another car in TCM that is still TC2 exclusive). On my main account I don't need to grind any credits, so it will just be another quick run through each event. Haven't tried the TCM summit yet, I don't enjoy the bike events much as it's annoying to have to keep pushing the left stick forwards all the time.

2000s it wasnt me GIF

Lucky you! I did get a couple of random votes a few weeks ago.

I've now done the Hollywood playlist and laughed so loud I coughed when they mentioned "oversized moustache". I'm working on Drift 2 next.

Custom show has become luck based after the patch. I saw base cars getting as much likes as those customized. I know someone will give me likes because of my livery. Will anyone be there when my car shows for 8 minutes? So even 3 likes are rare let alone 5 or more.
The last Custom show that has a roof vanity (most expensive) for platinum will feature only the Bugatti Bolide. Good luck getting noticed in a sea of similar cars. It's a nice car however.

Some great events in the Koenigsegg week summit:

Achieving Immortality, 911 Freeway and the two Wangan races are some of my favourite races in the game.

It really is a "rich get richer" game. On my main account where I have nearly 21m credits, I already have the Jesko and Agera R, so it's another cheap week and my credit balance will go up even more. Might be a struggle on the alt accounts, though I think some of them already have the Agera R.

Maybe the jet arriving will get us a new playlist...? If not will be delving into horizon soon anyway. Ive revisited hot wheels 2 this week (for some variety), I'd forgotten Id picked up the expansions dirt cheap in a sale.

I will be able to do the 2 summit races for Main Stage (plus the Escape and maybe the bull **** erm bullseye) and that will be it for next week's Summit.

Plus I won't be able to do the bottom 3 Main Stage challenges that require bundle vehicles either.

Frustrating as I am at level 39.5 but seems unlikely I'll get to level 50 (I am away the following week, but as its all jets/planes I wouldn't be doing it anyway! If I wanted to play Flight Simulator, I'd play Flight Simulator not The Crew...)

Running the loan car event twice got me the middle bottom Main Stage task at least.
The next playlist (Red Bull Wild Run; May 7th) will have an event with multiple disciplines, maybe that will allow Jets. When the helicopter released there was only one event in the Chase Squad too.
If not we will have to wait until season 7 that starts in July.
The helicopters are best for hovering and enjoying the scenery, in my opinion. And it was handy for landing on top of buildings to pick up the challenge items.

If you can crew up with someone who owns the cars, you can do the summit events using loan versions. You need someone on the same platform, I believe the game doesn't allow cross-platform crews.

I haven't been successful at completing non-summit weekly challenges using loan cars. If I create an event for the specific car needed, the game seems to loan the other player a different car of the same category rather than the exact car I set.

You can do main stage legacy events that need specific cars in a crew, I've used that to complete some on alt accounts without buying the cars.

I caved in the end and spent 1m bucks on the Agera R... which handles like a turd... - I had to run the Hollywood "follow the directions" events in Custom Mode as the only events I could win on level 3! But at least it helped get me over the line...

I also managed to pick up the Black Panthaa car using the Perf Tickets today. Now to start saving them up for the next one...

The first event in Hawaii Scenic Tour seems to be easier than the rest for level 3 difficulty, I do it often for the weekly blue challenges.

Try lowering the front aero pro setting a lot, I did top 500 summit times with it at -15%. The car has crazy cornering ability, but is prone to spinning the rear wheels. It's also a good idea to only nitro when going in a straight line. Achieving Immortality in the Lambo playlist is one of my go-to events for quick weekly completion as it only takes around 1 min 20, it shouldn't be hard to beat on difficulty 3 once you've learned the course.

New toy arrives tomorrow i hope it's supported i did see a list for the hud and MF was on that so it should be good to go after a firmware update

Dropping the front aero helped a lot thanks 👍 I suspect that is a good idea for other hypercars as well as they can tend to be a bit skittish - I'll try this next time I need to use one and find it wants to spin on every corner.

Here's their video talking about it:

The comments section goes like this:
1. What about The Crew 1
2. What about The Crew 1
3. What about...

They go on about how much resource is required to make them playable offline, but as someone pointed out in the comments, it was THEIR decision to build the games as online only in the first place...

Having said that, I've still got 450 vehicles to get in TC2 and it looks like online will be shut off before I can finish buying them so I'm glad offline is coming...

I can understand their original thinking. The whole live service thing is geared towards entertaining people "in the moment". For example, lots of content has been removed from Netflix:

So I imagine they thought that each game would successively entertain people "in the moment", and people would just move on to each new game. I'm sure it does take a lot of resources to figure out how to make offline versions of these games, indeed it may not be possible to make the saves unhackable (which will be a major reason why they were online only in the first place).

Whatever their choice was at the time, they are working for the players now. That is enough for me.

I don't think these are the only reasons, but I feel that the strong anger on the Internet over TC1's shutdown and the current crisis surrounding their parent company UBI have helped to improve their relationship with the community.

I used to have no interest in them at all, but now I feel that they are one of the most trustworthy teams among modern racing game developers.
Of course, they and their games are still not perfect, but I trust their attitude.

I can understand the whole Crew 1 outrage. At the same time I just can't understand why is it a problem with some games but not with all. The first Crew wasn't even a popular racing game and the reason for shutting down the servers was the lack of players not licensing or Ubisoft being a bad guy. Whatever I'm glad they are making this offline patch and I'm curious what will happen to Summit cars once the servers shut down.

This is just my speculation, but I think the biggest difference between TC1 and other games is that not only did the servers shut down, but in the case of digital copies, users lost ownership of the game. With the exception of mobile games, many games that require a constant online connection remained in the hands of users even when the servers were shut down. Therefore, like TDU and Skid Rush, volunteers created emulated servers and were able to play even after the official servers were shut down.

The second difference is the development of social media. While this has allowed more people to connect with each other, it has also made it possible to share anger. This has caused the flames of anger to grow even bigger, leading to the current uproar.

And the third reason is the current environment surrounding UBI. Unfortunately, UBI seems to be one of the most criticized Western game publishers in the world right now. There are many reasons why people dislike them, but I suspect that people are angry about UBI and therefore their criticism of them and their games tends to be more extreme.

This was an unfortunate event for them, and criticism should never be taken too far, but in the end, we may have benefited from these angry people, as this has created the possibility that we will be able to continue playing The Crew series, and similar live service games from other companies, in the future. I have mixed feelings about profiting from other people's misfortune... :/

I think is mainly because it went viral on social media. Like what happened with Oblivion and body type option instead of male/female last week. People complaining that Bethesda went woke while body type being present since 2016 in many AAA games.
The big problem is the Crew as a franchise is not as popular as Elder's Scrolls and can be easily canceled giving enough backslash. It saddens me even more because they even offered the Crew 1 for free just to bring more players but it still didn't work. And then they got accused of stealing after server shut down.

I think realistically the Summit cars will be unavailable after server shut down (except where you already have them), although I'd like them to be available for Bucks I can't see that happening. The Forzathon cars in FH3 won't be available when the servers switch off (at the moment there's still a chance via Auction House albeit unlikely) and I think that's probably the end result.

There's still about 7500 Xbox players on the summit each week I think for TC2, so I'm hoping servers are up for at least another year.

As for TCM, they mentioned "coming years" in the Youtube video, so there's lots of life still for that game.

In the Motorfest tab on TC2, I noticed that it specifically refers to 4 months of Red Bull and "one free playlist", so therefore i don't think there's another playlist coming until July. I feel like that's too long of a gap to keep interest going among longstanding players, especially with PS5 users now having their "shiny new toy" in FH5 and people like @evldave333 jumping ship

I agree totally, Ive not not been playing Forza since yesterday so nice to have fresh objectives and new races to try (12 hours already naughty naughty). Good thing is motorfest is its own thing the gameplay is distinct even if the format is a copy, I will be weekly summit dipping and gleefully will be hitting the nitrous! Hoping the new plane will have some real speed to it.

There's many different ways they could approach making them available via offline play. One approach would be to have the game cycle through all past summits, but the offline leaderboard would be how it was when that summit ended, so you still see yourself move up the leaderboard as you do the summit events, and still have to achieve the same score to get the platinum reward. However, I can't see any way it could be made unhackable given the relatively open nature of current PC hardware and OS.

Or instead of making the game cycle through past summits, it could allow players to permanently access any past summit they want. Or they could do something like Motorfest main stage legacy and the prestige ticket shop.
