Thoughts on what can be done for " that guy " who is out to ruin everyone's race purely for his own fun. Now I am slow as and start in the lower half of the grid most of the time so things are hard enough. Starting at Suzuka tonight in an 8 Lap GR4 race and the guy in last place, plows into me at warp speed. I knew it was deliberate as the race had only started and we had not even reached the final chicane, I only had a brief moment to get into 3rd then straight back to second for the first turn in. he spins me clear off the track, I catch him up a lap later and then watch him force the next 2 guys off the track with deliberate rams. I finished the race, pulled the GT Sports disc out of the PS4 and in went the PC2 disc. What a joke, something has to be done and can see know reason why a suspension penalty could not incorporated........

Now it might be abit of a stretch but you could try to save a replay and report the player to Sony.
Reading through the Community Code of Conduct it says.
What are the Do's and Don't of using my SEN account?

Do
Treat others with respect

Don't
Be disruptive or threatening

Whether it'll do any good I couldn't say but its gotta be worth a shot right?

It sounds like the game is not for you, I've yet to see an online game tailored for just one guy complaining on the net.

You may well be right..............

AAaaaaaaaand another thread about the same thing
And yet even after seeing the obvious title, here you are wasting your valuable time reading and commenting on it.............

Key questions: Your DR, his DR, your SR, his SR.

If either of the last two answers arent S then thats your problem right there.

I seem to be in the minority in feeling that the dr/sr system will come good in the long term and is more than worth the teething trouble while data is built up to strengthen it.

1: Git Gud. The racing at higher license levels is really good most of the time, I have been involved in some of the best races I have ever had on GT Sport. Part of getting good is developing situational awareness and learning defensive driving skills while racing. It takes practice but often you can learn to read bad drivers and avoid them. There are plenty of websites devoted to safe racing and driver development but the Surviving Rookies series on Youtube specifically made for iRacing might be a good place to start as much of the advice carries over. I will add one change though. In GT Sport it is still important to try and achieve the best finishing result you can but first focus on your SR rather than aggressively going for positions. Sometimes it is better to let "that" guy past as clean as possible.

2: Was he driving a Megane? Maybe it wasn't intentional. Earlier today I watched a Megane driver wreck everyone in my sons rear vision mirror as he started his race, I was sure he was just trying to wreck people on purpose. Then he kind of disappeared for a while before he reappeared in my sons mirror gaining on him quickly. And in most corners he would take himself out into a wall even when there were no other cars around him, it was at that point I started to suspect he was just a very bad driver. And yet he kept on catching my son. I could not believe what I was seeing, this guy was not making corners, he was crashing into walls and yet on the straight he was so much quicker than everyone else. When I saw him approaching my son I told my son to get out of the way and let him past. And he blew by, his pace was incredible on the straights especially considering his corner exits were terrible. Shortly after he took out the car who was in front of my son which allowed my son to gain that position and he got by one more car to finish 2 places ahead of my son. After the race the first thing my son did was buy the Megane and in his first lap he ran two and a half seconds faster than his previous personal best. During that race where that Megane wrecked lots of drivers, my son gained 6 positions and he went from SR:A to SR:S in the Evo Gr4.

I am a D/S. I did not get his.

He was in a white alpha I am pretty sure. The megane is pretty quick was smashed by a few at Interlagos a nights back.... As far a situational awareness is concerned I was hit big time from behind 3 seconds into the race. I am pretty keen to keep my S rating so definately willing let the faster guys go so I keep that rating.

I am a D/S. I did not get his.

D is your problem. Some people will be working their way up, others will have been playing nonstop and simply be a D. D is pretty low, its going to be full of very suspect driving and some trolls. Fortunately, it doesnt take long to get higher up and C and above gets much more “friendly”. Give it some time and see if you can get C/B for DR and keep your S for SR, Im sure you’ll find that things improve in line with your own rating.

Hmm... Strange, a load of posts just disappeared?

Either way, the OP could have posted his experiences in:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/totally-disillusioned-with-gt-sport-after-update.369951/
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/some-dirty-driving.368487/

These are just 2 of numerous threads detailing people's gripes with the sport mode, penalties and dirty driving. It didn't need another thread...
Hope I did not ruin your day...........

You might know as I don,t. Have been at D pretty much since the game was released. Not in front of my stats just now but had maybe 50 races with 1 win 2 x 2nds 2 x 3rds, the rest mid field right through to last. What's required to get promoted??

Only bans will work. I've seen it a couple of times today already. One car didn't bother to brake for the chicane and must shot have passed around six cars but somehow he only clipped one before he smashed into the barriers, he could have ruined a number of races.

Another driver was just very dirty and it had to be intentional, he punted 2nd place off in the hairpin and then tried to run me off a few times in places where we could have easily run alongside (he had a better line and faster car too so wouldn't have lost the place) and then crashed into me a couple of times in the first corner, I was even on the inside and he put me on the grass once and got me a two second cutting penalty. I haven't even looked at what carnage he caused with the cars behind afterwards yet. This was not a slow driver either, he started 3rd in a race containing 3rd on EU leaderboards on pole (who of course dominated the race).

Hard to know tbh. I tend to finish midfield/top ten but generally make up places during the race (mostly because people cant do 10 laps without crashing!) and have moved up to B just from the manufacturers championship and a few nations cup ones. Im sure theres a formula for it, but I have no idea what it uses.

Watch the replays of the top ten drivers. Change to cockpit view when you watch them. Watch their line, where they brake and where they hit the throttle and how much brake and throttle they use. Then practice what they do.

Also watch these videos http://safeisfast.com/video/fast-track-the-fast-line/

This can be helpful, but also bear in mind if they are using a wheel and you are using a pad (or visa versa) it may be difficult/ impossible to properly replicate their braking points etc.

Practice.
yep... I'm only DR B, but simply learning the track goes a long long ways. Last night on Dragon Trail (do not know that track well at all) my first laps were in the 2:06's... simply racing my ghost and watching for where I was faster/slower and working away at it - I worked my way down into the low 1.57's... about 3.5sec's off the top 10 folks, which seems about as fast as I can go... usually 3.5-5 seconds off the "Aliens".
I probably ran in free practice for 45 min's trying to figure out the track before I entered a race.

Should have done circuit experience and been given money and cars for doing it first. If you didnt. Which you probably did. But its a fun, useful section of the game that some people seem to overlook.

Agree'd, and yes, did all the circuit experiences... was helpful, but that was upon release of the game, and I'd not been back to that track... and I've gotta believe racing my ghost last night lap after lap gave me much better feel for the race than doing 1 lap at a time in the circuit experience.

It does, but you get to learn each sector first. Then a lap. Then timetrial. Its one big beautiful package!

this is was my friend's race last night for the fia manufacturer cup:

1. Your DR/SR is too low, that's your problem!!
2. They are just learning you have to be patient.
3. Just drive defensively and everything will work out.
4. Get faster to drive with better drivers.
5. Watch the replays of top 10 drivers.
6. Oh no, not another one!!
