Crazy idea?
Minimum qualifying time (adjusted to each DR rating) to enter a Sport Race, in the same car they actually race?
Maybe boring for some, but would make people to take time for some practice laps and get acquainted with the track?
He see people whining all the time about having so few tracks on GT Sports and due to that we keep racing the same tracks all the time, but they still say they don't know the tracks very well, go figure

Rubbish, he saw him and was trying to get revenge I'd wager. That whole race was a car crash, metaphorically and literally.
I think there should be enough people such that you are placed in races with quali times similar to your own - if you don't put in a time then you're put with the same rating people who also haven't submitted a quali time.
Just my 2 cents on the matchmaking, there...

Apart from when he tried to push the other car to get him back but ghosted right through him his driving wasn't too bad compared to the rest of them. Just think though some of those guys probably have a number of wins because they are matched with each other and may even think they are quite good, whereas me and a ton of others are battling the quick guys for just one occasional win.
