Chapter 2; Page 11 - A Proud Daddy
A couple of days later, Takuma arrives in Japan at evening. He immediately goes to Tokyo General Hospital, with a huge Siberian Husky plush toy with him. He enters in a room where Ben Nakamura is, and he sees the boy's caretaker named Mami Watanabe who is in charge of Ben's well-being. She approaches Takuma and looks at him with her teary eyes.
Mami: "Thank you for coming... Ben needs you on his side right now."
Takuma: "I see."
He goes to the bed where Ben is sleeping. Then the boy opens his eyes and smile as he sees Takuma.
Takuma: "Hey there. How are you?"
Ben: "Takuma-san, I'm very happy to see you again."
Takuma: "Here is the dog plush toy you really want. You love dogs, right? Oh look, it's a husky!"
He places the plush toy on the bed. The boy energetically rises up and hugs the toy.
Ben: "Thank you, Takuma-san. This will be the last toy, and it's the one I really like!"
Takuma: "No, it's not gonna be your last."
Mami: "He really needs an operation to live. Unfortunately, we don't have funds for it. All we do is just to keep him alive..."
Takuma: "How much is it?"
Mami: "2.5 million Yen. The organization does not have that money for such operation..."
Takuma: "I'll take care of it. I promise that boy that it won't be his last toy."
Mami: "Takuma-san! Really!? Will you pay for it?"
Takuma: "I'll do everything to save that boy. And it's much better to spend it to help others rather than buying material things that we don't even need."
Ben: "Takuma-san... Thank you very much!"
Seeing that the boy is reaching for a hug, Takuma gets closer and he hugs Ben.
Takuma: "Everything will be all right, I promise."
Ben starts to cry.
Ben: "You're the most wonderful person in the world! Thank you..."
Takuma starts to shed a tear.
Takuma: "You remind me so much of the person who taught me what life is. It's time for me to return the favor...to you."
The boy lies down.
Takuma: "I'll be back...The next time you'll wake up, you'll be as healthy as the other kids."
As Takuma is reaching for the door, he hears:
Ben: "Okay... Daddy."
He stops upon hearing what the boy said. Takuma puts up a smile as he goes out of the room.
Takuma: "Daddy? Such a nice ring to it."

Takuma arrives home. His mother is surprised by his arrival. The two then sit together in the living room.
Takuma: "How's the shop?"
Tomoko: "It's doing good, as usual."
Takuma: "Glad to hear it.
Tomoko: "What brings you here?"
Takuma: "I just need to help someone. Remember the charity?"
Tomoko: "Of course! You always have a soft spot for kids."
Takuma: "I paid 2.5 million Yen to help one person. I know it's a lot, but that boy just..."
Tomoko: "I understand. You did a wonderful deed."
Takuma: "I need to rest, the flight exhausted me."
Tomoko: "Okay. Good night."
The next day, Takuma heads out early in the morning at Mt. Aso to practice with his orange FD.
Takuma: "I will teach that kid what life is. Otoosan, are you watching me?"
Takuma: "It's time for me to return the favor!"
All of a sudden, his phone rings. He pulls over to answer the call. Takanori is at the other line.
Takuma: "Hey there, dummy."
Takanori: "Aniki, did it went okay?"
Takuma: "I've taken care of the boy's operation. He'll be fine soon enough."
Takanori: "That's good to hear. Oh, I called because we were invited to race in Indy 500."
Takuma: "Indy 500 eh?"
Takanori: "None of us has done F1 racing before."
Takuma: "That's where you're wrong. I can do Indy 500. I did a couple of races there before I met you."
Takanori: "Really!? Man, just how many stuff did Ben-san taught you?"
Takuma: "Too many to count."
Takanori: "Well then, I leave it all to you! We'll be heading to the U.S., so just follow us immediately, okay?"
Takuma: "Of course. Remember this, Takanori..."
Takanori: "What?"
Takuma puts up a grin.
Takuma: "No Attack. No Chance."
After opening the shop, Tomoko decides to place the things in the living room in order. Suddenly, she sees papers that fell off. After picking them up, she reads what is written.
Tomoko: "Adoption papers???"

Chapter 2; Page 12 - Motivation
At around 8 in the morning, Takuma returns to Tokyo after that brief run from Mt. Aso. He goes to the gym and changes to his gym clothes and starts to work out.
First, he runs through the treadmill for 15 minutes. While doing so, one of his fans who is also running through the treadmill beside him notices him.
Fan: "Hey, it's Takuma Kanonji!"
Takuma: "Oh, hey there."
Fan: "When will be your next race? I will watch you!"
Takuma: "It'll be in a couple of weeks. I will race in Indy 500."
Fan: "Oh, then I shall book a flight to USA! See ya!"
The happy fan stops running and steps out of the treadmill.
Takuma: "I don't know that I have fans... I have always thought my cool demeanor would turn them off."
When the time is up, he steps out and drinks his water. After a brief cool down, he performs 200 push-ups, and then he performs 70 pull-ups.
After another cool down, he lifts weights. His lean and muscular build plus his popularity attracted the attention of some women in the gym.
Takuma: "Gotta get used to people looking at me... This is the life of a celebrity, huh?"
He puts down the weights and sits down. Then he receives a call from Mami.
Mami: "Takuma-san, I have great news! The operation is a success! Nakamura is currently recovering, and he wants to see you!"
Takuma: "Really? I'm glad to hear it. Oh, I have a surprise for him... and he'll be very happy."
Mami: "Okay then. See you later!"
After gym, he goes to Tokyo General Hospital. He goes to the room where Ben and Mami are staying. Upon entering, he sees the boy very happy and is eager to hug Takuma. Takuma hugs the boy with a big smile.
Takuma: "How are you?"
Ben: "Very healthy! I can play again! Thank you, Takuma-san!"
Takuma: "Don't call me that anymore..."
Ben: "Then what shall I call you?"
Takuma: "Daddy..."
Ben: "Really!? Oh how I really wanted you to call that! Usually, I tell my playmates that you are my Daddy."
Takuma: "We'll go home together from now on. I am now your Daddy."
Mami: "Is that so?"
Takuma: "The adoption papers have been approved. I arranged them even before I left for Europe."
Then the boy sheds tears of joy that he proceeds to hug Takuma again, now even tighter.
Ben: "DADDY!"
Takuma: "I'm your Daddy now... Starting from this point on, your life will be better."
Ben: "I want to be just like you!"
Takuma: "If that's what you want, then I'll wholeheartedly teach you."

Takuma arrives in U.S.A. a week later, with Ben under the care of Tomoko. He meets up with the Dream Alliance at the hotel in Indianapolis.
Takanori: "We have secured a car for the race, so no need to worry about it, Aniki."
Ricky: "Takuma-san, so how's the short trip?"
Takuma: "It was meaningful, and I found a new purpose... And I am more motivated to win the race."
Ricky: "Eh???"
Takuma: "Those orphans reminded me of me. Remember, I grew up without knowing my parents. They are experiencing the same too, and they deserve to live a better life. I want to be their role model, just like how your father was to me."
Nobuhiko: "Oh yeah, you donate to that orphanage, right?"
Takuma: "Yeah. Now you know my soft side..."
Takanori: "Awww.... you have a soft spot for kids."
Takuma: "Oh yeah, and I'll be so hard to you. Want to experience it now?"
Nobuhiko: "We will go there tomorrow, right?"
Takanori: "Right.
The next day, The team is at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with the car. Takuma carefully observes each detail of the car while the mechanics set it up.
Takuma: "I'm not fond of yellow, but I have no choice."
Ricky: "Hey! I have a suggestion!"
Takuma: "What is it?"
Ricky: "I already told the mechanics about this and they're doing it now; how about lengthening the gear ratios?"
Takuma: "That could do. But I suffer from acceleration as a result, though."
Ricky: "Because it would be a slipstream battle!"
Takuma: "Interesting..."
After the mechanics declare that it's clear to go, Takuma first puts on his new race suit and helmet.
Takanori: "New look? Wow!"
Takuma: "White means kindness, and green symbolizes change. Those two colors represent the new me. I have realized that despite my demeanor, I still have people that care for me... like you."
Takanori: "Of course! No man is an island! Plus, the kids at the orphanage look up to you!"
Takuma: "Yeah, and those orphans even took the effort of designing this helmet."
Takanori: "I like the Tsunami design."
Takuma: "It's time for me... to return their favor!"
Then he gets in the car and sets off. The high pitched engine note made Takanori cover his ears in an instant.
Takanori: "Too loud! But sounds good nonetheless!"
The machine easily hits 370 km/h and takes the turns very fast thanks to its very high amount of downforce.
Takuma: "Since when was the last time I drove something like this? It still hasn't changed after all..."
Takuma: "But more importantly..."
He thinks back of what his fan had told him:
"Oh, then I'll book a flight to U.S.A.! See ya!"
Then he remembers Ben Nakamura showing him a smile and a thumbs up before leaving to U.S. The boy was holding Takuma's matte black helmet.
"Good luck, Daddy! Can I keep your helmet? It's cool!"
He also reminisces the smiles of the children at the orphanage.
And then finally, Ben McCarthy's final words to him:
"Keep loving and caring for other people. Especially to your family... Love them like I always do to you. You are the most precious gift I had. You know what your name means, right?"
Takuma: "...before, I win for my glory. But now, with people who I realize that they look up to me..."
Takuma: "...I will... WIN FOR THEM! I WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!!!"

Chapter 2; Page 13 - Oval of Death
While the others are asleep in the hotel room suite, Takuma is at the balcony, looking at the full moon. Takanori who just came out from the bathroom sees his twin and joins him at the balcony.
Takanori: "Still awake?"
Takuma: "I'm just thinking of those fans, those kids from the orphanage... and my son."
Takanori: "A son!?"
Takuma: "I adopted a kid named Ben Nakamura. He reminded me very much of Otoosan. I wonder... what if I lose? What will those people think of me?"
Takanori: "Win or lose, you are still no. 1 in their hearts. You already won their trust and love, especially the orphans. The helmet they made for you is already a reminder. And your son looks up to you as his inspiration, for sure. But I'm very, very, 100% sure that you will win this one. In fact, I believe you are faster than me!"
Takanori strongly pats his hand on Takuma's shoulder.
Takanori: "You can do it! Just believe in yourself!"
Takuma: "Thanks, my blundering beloved twin."
Takanori: "Well, think of those people as your motivation to win. That's all there is to it."
Takanori heads back to bed and sleeps. Takuma once again looks up at the night sky.
Takuma: "Otoosan... I can do it, right? I'm sure you're gonna scold me again if I ask that to you. I miss those times that you used to scold or rant at me. Heck, I didn't even eat dinner today just to remember that you would not cook supper for me whenever I failed to beat a lap time."
Then he raises his right fist and shows a thumbs up.
Takuma: "I won't let you down, Pops. I'll be standing at the middle of the podium and set the fastest lap time! I'll make sure of it!"

The next day in Japan, the kids in the orphanage turn on the TV and then switch to a sports channel wherein the Indy 500 race is live. Mami then grabs a seat and joins the children as well. When the TV shows Takuma's yellow Indy car, the children cheer.
Children: "Go, Takuma-san!!!"
Mami: "He will definitely win!"
Child 1: "I hope he brings a lot of toys here!"
Child 2: "I want to see and ride in his race car!"
Child 3: "I will draw Takuma-san and show my art to him when he arrives!"
Mami: "Takuma-san will surely visit us here and he'll bring a lot of toys for you!"
At the race, Takuma is at the middle of the grid, taking a good look of his opponents before the race starts.
Takuma: "Indy 500 is a very dangerous race... I know of someone who got killed here recently. But I'm not gonna allow myself to die here! I have a promise to fulfill!"
Then, the light finally turns green. All the Indy cars go to full throttle. The race has started. Due to the tall gearing, he's immediately out-accelerated by the others, falling him back.
All the cars clock in at speeds exceeding 300 KM/H. They are so close to each other, that Takuma finds it hard to overtake after the slipstream.
Takuma: "Am I facing a wall? Nice blocking..."
He manages to overtake the others though.
His opponent on the back hits him at the curve, but Takuma reflexively catches the car with some steering control. Though he is overtaken due to the loss of speed.
Takuma: "This is bad! I can get killed here!"
Using another slipstream, he manages to rise up immediately to the ranks.
However, at the next curve, his opponent fishtails him. He loses control and spins out. Luckily, he's not hit by the other cars and he manages to put the car back into the right direction. This set him back to the last place.
Takanori and the rest of the team are alarmed upon seeing the spin.
Takanori: "Aniki!!! Hey, are you okay!?"
Takuma: "Temee! You've really done it..."
Takanori: "Is the car okay?"
Takuma: "It's fine. I'm fine."
Takuma steps on the accelerator harder, with his hands tightening their grip on the steering wheel.
Takuma: "Yarou! I won't lose to some trashes like you! Like I said, No Attack...
Takuma: "...No Chance!!!"

The next day in Japan, the kids in the orphanage turn on the TV and then switch to a sports channel wherein the Indy 500 race is live. Mami then grabs a seat and joins the children as well. When the TV shows Takuma's yellow Indy car, the children cheer.
Children: "Go, Takuma-san!!!"
Mami: "He will definitely win!"
Child 1: "I hope he brings a lot of toys here!"
Child 2: "I want to see and ride in his race car!"
Child 3: "I will draw Takuma-san and show my art to him when he arrives!"
Mami: "Takuma-san will surely visit us here and he'll bring a lot of toys for you!"
At the race, Takuma is at the middle of the grid, taking a good look of his opponents before the race starts.
Takuma: "Indy 500 is a very dangerous race... I know of someone who got killed here recently. But I'm not gonna allow myself to die here! I have a promise to fulfill!"
Then, the light finally turns green. All the Indy cars go to full throttle. The race has started. Due to the tall gearing, he's immediately out-accelerated by the others, falling him back.
All the cars clock in at speeds exceeding 300 KM/H. They are so close to each other, that Takuma finds it hard to overtake after the slipstream.
Takuma: "Am I facing a wall? Nice blocking..."
He manages to overtake the others though.
His opponent on the back hits him at the curve, but Takuma reflexively catches the car with some steering control. Though he is overtaken due to the loss of speed.
Takuma: "This is bad! I can get killed here!"
Using another slipstream, he manages to rise up immediately to the ranks.
However, at the next curve, his opponent fishtails him. He loses control and spins out. Luckily, he's not hit by the other cars and he manages to put the car back into the right direction. This set him back to the last place.
Takanori and the rest of the team are alarmed upon seeing the spin.
Takanori: "Aniki!!! Hey, are you okay!?"
Takuma: "Temee! You've really done it..."
Takanori: "Is the car okay?"
Takuma: "It's fine. I'm fine."
Takuma steps on the accelerator harder, with his hands tightening their grip on the steering wheel.
Takuma: "Yarou! I won't lose to some trashes like you! Like I said, No Attack...
Takuma: "...No Chance!!!"

Page 14 - Slipstream of Hope
At the curves, Takuma turns the wheel in a specific angle so that the speed loss would be minimal.
Takuma: "I should not steer too much, or else I'll fall back!"
At the pits, Ricky is worried about the situation they're in.
Ricky: "You think Takuma-san will win? Several laps have passed, and his opponents have an edge too."
Nobuhiko: "He... will win."
Takanori: "He is definitely motivated to win. He has a promise to fulfill. Also, he's faster than me! And he would not give up!"
Nobuhiko: "When he returned here to change tires, I noticed that the damage isn't really that bad. He can still run the car at its full potential."
Takanori: "I believe in him, we all believe in him, and he believes in himself."
Nobuhiko: "That's right."
Back at the race, Takuma finally sees a speck of his opponents.
Takuma: "All right then, the real battle begins! Prepare yourselves!"
Upon getting the draft behind his opponent, his car increases speed significantly. Thanks to the tall gearing, the Indy car clocks in speeds of 380 km/h which is faster than its opponents.
Takuma: "Every kilometer per hour that I gain, I make a child smile. I will speed through the hearts of the children! I run... I speed... I race to make their dreams possible!
Then he returns to the pits for one last time to change tires. The crew quickly changes tires, and then Takuma looks at his teammates and shows a thumbs up. When everything is set, Takuma puts his right foot heavily on the accelerator. The car spins its rear wheels and is immediately back on the track.
Takuma: "Just a few laps more."
Using slipstream again, he manages to climb up to the high positions.
Takuma: "Heh, I guess Ricky's simple strategy really pulls off here."
Back at the orphanage in Japan, the children watching the race loudly cheer for Takuma. Mami is joyful to see the children in high spirits.
Mami: "That's the side of Takuma-san that few are able to see. He brings a lot of hope. Those children, I haven't seen them that happy in years. Thank you... thank you, Takuma-san!"

Child 2: "I hope he's our daddy too. Ben-chan is very lucky!"
Back in the race, Takuma is now head-to-head with the lead car.
Takuma: "Let's see if you can fishtail me again, BAKA!!!"
Before his opponent pull that trick again, Takuma's car manages to pull away at the curve, thus taking the lead.
Takuma: "Yossha! Now, I shall run the final lap setting the new course record!"
With consistent speed, Takuma's Indy car gradually pulls away from the competition. The car flies by at high speed, with crowds cheering.
When the checkered flag is waved, Takuma crosses the line. Victory is in his hands once again, plus he smashed the course record.
While cruising for victory, Takuma raises his right fist and shows a thumbs up once again. When Takanori sees this through the screen, he does the same.
Takanori: "The signature Kanonji thumbs up. Aniki does it with pride!"
Takuma: "Otoosan... I did it. Though I guess I will cook supper for the team."

Mami: "Thank you very much, Takuma-san. I don't know how we could repay you. The children have never been happier! Thanks to you, the Sendai Orphanage is a happy place."
Takuma: "I will rename this orphanage...."
Mami: "What's the new name, then?"
Takuma: "Takuma's Proteges. I will take these children under my wing. When they grow up, you'll see a lot of Takuma Kanonjis all around Japan, spreading hope to everyone."
Mami: "I'm so happy... I wish you the best!"
Then Ben pulls Takuma's shirt.
Ben: "Daddy, let's play with the kids. They want to play with you!"

Mami looks on with tears as she sees Takuma playing with the children. It also turns out that all of the prize money he received from the race has been donated to the orphanage. Hence, improvements are on the way.

At around 3 in the morning at the Kanonji residence back in Tokyo, Ben is just taking a leak in the bathroom. Then upon ascending the stairs and passing by Takuma's room, he hears Takuma crying and sniffling.
Ben: "Daddy?"
He did not enter first, he just eavesdrops.
Takuma: "Otoosan..."
The boy is concerned with his adoptive father's plight. Then he enters the room and stomps his right foot.
Ben: "Why are you crying, you imbecile! I did not teach you to cry, you blithering idiot! You're not going to eat supper!"
Upon hearing those words, Takuma smiles.
Ben: "Come on, be a man!"
Then he turns around facing the boy, and then he gets out of the bed to hug the boy.
Takuma: "Thank you... Thank goodness I have you."
Ben shows a comforting smile to Takuma.
Ben: "Daddy, I don't want to see you sad. You don't want to see me sad too, so you should be happy."
Takuma: "You remind me so much of Otoosan. Tomorrow is his birthday."
Ben: "I see. Well, don't cry, okay? I'm here now."
At the noontime, the two head to the cemetery and visit Ben McCarthy's grave. Shortly after, they are joined by Ricky as well.
Takuma: "Otoosan..."
He lays down the gold medal along with the flowers.
Takuma: "...these are for you. Oh look, you are a grandpa now. Meet Ben Nakamura."
Ricky: "Dad, even though I haven't spent my life with you, I know who you really are, thanks to Takuma-san. How I wish that you are here with us, teaching and punishing us with your harsh words. Oh, here's another gold medal for you. I won it from rallying."
He lays his gold medal as well. The three are in silence uttering their prayers briefly.
After that, the wind suddenly blows. Takuma is looking up at the sky.
Takuma: "Otoosan... I'm sure you're proud of your children. You will live in our hearts forever. You taught me everything, and I am very grateful. I shall pass down your teachings to the people who I really care about. My name... Takuma... I am already exemplifying that name's meaning. I will continue to polish my love ones, and I'll make sure that they'll always glow with the love I give to them."

The Dream Alliance returns to Japan, as per Takanori's request since there's a brief break from racing. Upon checking his Facebook account in his home, he has received tons of notifications from his fan page created by his most loyal fans.
Takanori: "Damn... am I really the "Godzilla Keeper"?"
Makoto: "Of course, dear! Look, you own your father's R32, Sayuki's R33, Ben-san's R34, and the Takanori Edition R35 GT-R!"
Takanori: "Yeah, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who own more GT-Rs than me."
Makoto: "It's not the case. They call you that because of your thorough knowledge of the GT-R. From "Hakosuka to R35" they say."
Takanori: "I haven't driven an Hakosuka and Kenmeri! Though I know a bit of them..."
Makoto: "Your fans are expecting. Well, you have to please them."
Then they see Takuharu walking, albeit slowly.
Takanori: "Awwww.... my little Takuharu is walking."
Makoto: "Hey Takanori..."
Takanori: "Yes dear?"
Makoto: "We have planned it before, right? So, shall we commence the plan?"
Takanori: "Absolutely! How about tonight?"
Makoto: "I'll prepare that "special wear" and put it on tonight."

At evening, at Nobuhiko's house, Nobuhiko has vomited once again and then he hyperventilates as his Pancreatic Cancer is at its worst.

He closes the light in the bathroom and returns to bed.
Nobuhiko: "I have to improve on my skills. I have to beat them... before I die!"
In the morning, Nobuhiko prepares salmon for breakfast. He cooks a small fillet and tops it on a small bowl of rice. He grabs a pair of chopsticks and starts to eat.
Nobuhiko: "Itadakimasu."
Then his mother descends from the stairs and heads to the kitchen.
Kyoko: "You cooked salmon? Oh, I didn't know that you could cook it."
Nobuhiko: "Takuma-san taught me to cook some dishes."
Kyoko: "Takuma is a host of a weekend cooking show every noontime."
Nobuhiko: "Yeah, and I even watch his YouTube channel for recipes."
Kyoko: "I guess you learned something new when you were in Europe, huh?"
Nobuhiko: "Yeah. Oh, I am also learning English from Ricky-san. But I won't be long here, either. I'll be out of the country pretty much soon. Takanori-san has yet to give out the plans."

"Tomorrow, I will be testing out the Nissan GT-R "Takanori Edition" in Suzuka Circuit! I wonder what sets it apart from the normal GT-R?
Takanori: "That should do."
He opens a new tab and opens another website. While browsing, Makoto approaches him with a smile.
Makoto: "Guess what, honey..."
Takanori: "Yes?"
Makoto: "I smell a bun in the oven."
Takanori: "Me too."
Makoto: "We had a great night last night. You are fierce."
Takanori: "Doing it must not have pit stops. Fun should not stop..."
Makoto: "So, what have you replied to your fans? You have to be approachable."
Takanori: "Well, I told them that I will test out the Takanori Edition GT-R in Suzuka Circuit tomorrow."
Makoto: "That's a nice approach. Since it's a rare GT-R, it would be perfect for your fans to see you and that GT-R on the run."
As planned, the Dream Alliance is at the Suzuka Circuit with the R35 GT-R. Takanori immediately starts the run, while his fans at the bleachers start to take photos.
Takanori: "Aniki helped Nissan's engineers in setting up this car. He said that he ran 7 minutes and 3 seconds in the Nurburgring. So I expect it to be entirely different."
Takanori: "Turning this car feels.... artificial. It's like playing a video game."
Takanori: "Impressive cornering abilities for something so heavy!"
Takanori: "Nonetheless, this is what a GT-R is all about! Domination is in its vocabulary."
Takanori: "But... I still prefer my old man's R32."
While Takanori starts another lap, Nobuhiko heads out from the pits and takes a walk to the 130R corner.
Ricky: "Eh??? Where's Nobuhiko-san going?"
Takuma: "Whenever he's here, he makes it a point to visit the 130R corner."
Ricky: "Why?"
Takuma: "That's where Hiroyuki Hiramoto crashed his Supra."
Ricky: "Oh I get it."
When Nobuhiko reached the spot, he looks up at the sky.
Nobuhiko: "Pretty soon, we'll meet. Just wait... I am as eager as you are."
Takanori returns to the pit lane and gets out of the car. His fans quickly approach him, asking for autographs.
Takanori: "Thank you for coming! I didn't expect you to be so many!"
He signs the autographs one by one. And then they take a picture together with him. They do different poses, along with Takanori's signature thumbs up pose.
After the gathering, Takanori joins with the rest of the team to meet.
Takanori: "Whew, that was one hell of a fan's day!"
Takuma: "Your post in that fan page garnered tons of likes."
Ricky: "Wow... I wish I have a fan page."
Takuma: "I can't believe that a crybaby would have such a huge following."
Takanori: "Say that again!"
Ricky: "Uh-oh, here they go again."
Nobuhiko: "They have fun bickering, eh?"
Takuma gives Takanori a vigorous noogie.
Takuma: "I always love to see your hair messed up."
Takanori: "Hey, cut it out! Hahahahahaha!"
Nobuhiko just smiles.
Nobuhiko: "Those happy faces.... Just how many times I have left to see those before I vanish from this world? I could have wished to live a life similar to those twins. They're on each other's side all the time."

Saturday, at Suzuka Circuit, Kaido is back once again testing the heavily-tuned Elise.
While running, he encountered a green Ferrari 458 Italia. He overtakes it as a sign of challenge.
Kaido: "This Elise is perfect for having fun at the track."
Kaido: "What's the matter? I thought the 458 is the benchmark supercar? Can't keep up with this 300 HP Elise?"
He eases off the throttle to allow the 458 to catch up.
Kaido: "I'll play with you..."
At the straights, the power difference is very obvious as the 458 easily keeps up with the Elise. But when it comes to corners...
Kaido: "I can troll supercars all day with this!"
Kaido: "He would definitely love this..."
Kaido: "A perfect gift, I say."
The Elise totally outruns the 458 at the next lap.
Kaido: "Don't you ever underestimate Lotuses. You'll never what'll hit you."

Meanwhile, Takanori and Takuma hit the gym. The two are on the treadmills, running as to who gets to burn the most calories.
Takanori: "I think I'm winning!"
Takuma: "Meh, I think you really should, since you got fatter when we were in Europe."

Takuma: "And you're dreaming to be a model? Far from it..."
Takanori: "Hey! I don't want to be a magazine cover model like you posing half-naked!"
Takuma: "But at least I have the body to show off."
Then Takanori's phone rings, it's their mother on the other line.
Takanori: "Hello?"
Tomoko: "Oh, I have some sad news. Uncle Koichi passed away..."
Takanori: "Whoa! Really!? Where's the funeral?"
Tomoko: "In Shinagawa. I'll be heading there now. Aunt Maiko needs consolation."
Takanori: "I'll be there in a jiffy."
The call ends and Takanori stops the treadmill.
Takuma: "Where you going?"
Takanori: "Koichi ojiisan passed away. I'll go to the funeral now."
Takuma: "I'm coming."
After dressing up, the two immediately head on the way to Shinagawa.
Takuma: "Who's Uncle Koichi?"
Takanori: "He's the one that started our father's racing career."
Takuma: "I see."
Takanori: "Otoosan never knew racing back then, until Uncle Koichi taught him. Actually, he was considered as Otoosan's father figure."
Takuma: "How I wish I know our father a bit more. I was too irrational to hate him back then."
When they arrive, they see their mother consoling Aunt Maiko. The twins join them. Upon seeing Takanori, Aunt Maiko gets something from her pocket.
Aunt Maiko: "Here, take this."
She shows a key to Takanori.
Aunt Maiko: "This is how it all started."
Takanori: "Nissan?"
Aunt Maiko: "Yes... You deserve it as much as your father did. Use it as you please."
Takanori: "All right."
After the funeral, the twins head to the garage where the car is stashed. Upon opening, Takanori could not believe his eyes.
Takanori: "Whoa... It's..."
Takuma: "Hakosuka, huh?"
In front of them is a silver Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R KPGC10 in pristine condition. Takanori opens up the hood of the car.
Takanori: "The engine is so clean! So pristine!"
Takuma: "Start it up."
Takanori gets back in the car and starts it up. The 2 liter inline-6 engine roars into life.
Takanori: "Gotta love the sound of the carburetors!"
Takuma closes the hood of the car and gets in as well. They set off.
Takanori: "Man, this is a dream come true!"
Takuma: "It's a very rare car now. Better take care of it."
Takanori: "Of course! And I will run it as fast as I can! This GT-R deserves to have a spotlight too!"
Takuma: "So, our father started his racing life with this car, huh?"
Takanori: "I'll run this in Fuji Speedway next week. I'm already excited!"

Kaido: "What's the matter? I thought the 458 is the benchmark supercar? Can't keep up with this 300 HP Elise?"
He eases off the throttle to allow the 458 to catch up.
Kaido: "I'll play with you..."
At the straights, the power difference is very obvious as the 458 easily keeps up with the Elise. But when it comes to corners...
Kaido: "I can troll supercars all day with this!"
Kaido: "He would definitely love this..."
Kaido: "A perfect gift, I say."
The Elise totally outruns the 458 at the next lap.
Kaido: "Don't you ever underestimate Lotuses. You'll never what'll hit you."

Meanwhile, Takanori and Takuma hit the gym. The two are on the treadmills, running as to who gets to burn the most calories.
Takanori: "I think I'm winning!"
Takuma: "Meh, I think you really should, since you got fatter when we were in Europe."
Takanori: "D'oh!"
Takuma: "And you're dreaming to be a model? Far from it..."
Takanori: "Hey! I don't want to be a magazine cover model like you posing half-naked!"
Takuma: "But at least I have the body to show off."
Then Takanori's phone rings, it's their mother on the other line.
Takanori: "Hello?"
Tomoko: "Oh, I have some sad news. Uncle Koichi passed away..."
Takanori: "Whoa! Really!? Where's the funeral?"
Tomoko: "In Shinagawa. I'll be heading there now. Aunt Maiko needs consolation."
Takanori: "I'll be there in a jiffy."
The call ends and Takanori stops the treadmill.
Takuma: "Where you going?"
Takanori: "Koichi ojiisan passed away. I'll go to the funeral now."
Takuma: "I'm coming."
After dressing up, the two immediately head on the way to Shinagawa.
Takuma: "Who's Uncle Koichi?"
Takanori: "He's the one that started our father's racing career."
Takuma: "I see."
Takanori: "Otoosan never knew racing back then, until Uncle Koichi taught him. Actually, he was considered as Otoosan's father figure."
Takuma: "How I wish I know our father a bit more. I was too irrational to hate him back then."
When they arrive, they see their mother consoling Aunt Maiko. The twins join them. Upon seeing Takanori, Aunt Maiko gets something from her pocket.
Aunt Maiko: "Here, take this."
She shows a key to Takanori.
Aunt Maiko: "This is how it all started."
Takanori: "Nissan?"
Aunt Maiko: "Yes... You deserve it as much as your father did. Use it as you please."
Takanori: "All right."
After the funeral, the twins head to the garage where the car is stashed. Upon opening, Takanori could not believe his eyes.
Takanori: "Whoa... It's..."
Takuma: "Hakosuka, huh?"
In front of them is a silver Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R KPGC10 in pristine condition. Takanori opens up the hood of the car.
Takanori: "The engine is so clean! So pristine!"
Takuma: "Start it up."
Takanori gets back in the car and starts it up. The 2 liter inline-6 engine roars into life.
Takanori: "Gotta love the sound of the carburetors!"
Takuma closes the hood of the car and gets in as well. They set off.
Takanori: "Man, this is a dream come true!"
Takuma: "It's a very rare car now. Better take care of it."
Takanori: "Of course! And I will run it as fast as I can! This GT-R deserves to have a spotlight too!"
Takuma: "So, our father started his racing life with this car, huh?"
Takanori: "I'll run this in Fuji Speedway next week. I'm already excited!"

Page 3 - Destiny's Showdown
The twins head over to Kaido's garage to fine-tune the Hakosuka GT-R. Kaido scratches his head upon opening the car's hood.
Takuma: "Problem? I thought you can handle any car."
Takanori: "What's wrong, Kaido-san?"
Kaido: "Hmmmm.... it's kinda complicated to tune the S20. But looking at it seems that some genius is behind the tuning."
Takanori: "What do you mean?"
Kaido: "It has the exact specifications as the one found in the R380 racing car. Just by looking at it, it reminded me of that race car."
Takanori: "So they share the same engine?"
Kaido: "Yes, but the R380 is tuned for racing."
Kaido inspects the engine even further, and then something surprised him.
Kaido: "Heh, it's actually lifted from the R380!"
Takuma: "An engine swap, you say."
Takanori: "Koichi-ojiisan mentioned to me once that he put a lot of effort in that car. Maybe that engine swap is part of it."
Takuma: "Obviously."
Kaido: "You brought such an interesting subject. I shall investigate it further. For now, care to have some coffee?"
Takuma: "No thanks. Anyways, we have got to go."
Takanori: "Take care of it, okay? See ya!"
The twins leave and just take a walk. Suddenly, Takuma's phone rings and he picks it up.
Takuma: "Hello?.... Really?... That's strange... Are you sure that it's him?... Hmmmm.... Okay then, I'll look up on it."
The call ends.
Takanori: "What's wrong?"
Takuma: "One of my friends claim that they saw Nobuhiko in Suzuka."
Takanori: "But he just called up to invite us for dinner!"
Takuma: "Yeah. And he himself told us that he may be visiting there often, but not frequently."
Takanori: "Let's ask him."
At sunset, the twins arrive at Nobuhiko's house. Ricky manages to catch up. They sit at the dining area, waiting for food.
Takanori: "Nobuhiko, kyou anata wa Suzuka ni itta no?" (Nobuhiko, you went to Suzuka today?)
Nobuhiko: "Iie... ichinichijuu boku wa koko ni iru. (No... I'm here all day long.)
Takuma: "Shikashi, ore no tomodachi wa soko de anata wo mita to itta."
("But, my friend said that he saw you there.")
Nobuhiko: "Kyou boku wa Suzuka ni ikinakatta yo!" ("I did not go to Suzuka today! ")
Ricky: "Hello? What's the problem? You're leaving me out here..."
Takanori: "Aniki's friend claimed of seeing Nobuhiko in Suzuka. But Nobuhiko denies it."
Ricky: "Eh???"
Takuma: "It's the same Castrol-themed Supra No. 36. And then the driver wears a white race suit with red and green stripe pattern was seen standing at the 130R corner."
Nobuhiko: "No... not true, Ricky-san."
Ricky: "An impostor?"
Takanori: "Why would someone copy Nobuhiko?"
Nobuhiko: "Nisemono da no? Jodan janai zo!" (An impostor? It's not a joke!")
Takanori: "Hmmmm... let's find out."

The next day, Hiroyuki is at Suzuka.... once again.
Hiroyuki: "People might mistake me as my son since I was here yesterday and we share the same race suit and car."
Approaching a corner, Hiroyuki quickly downshifts and his heel-and-toe footwork is lightning-fast.
Hiroyuki: "But I'll just brush that off. For now, I shall prepare myself..."
Hiroyuki: "Let's play again, Nobuhiko! This time, we'll settle it here."
He stops once again at the 130R corner where he once crashed.
Hiroyuki: "So... Nobuhiko makes it a point to stop here, eh? Is this the only way you're reaching out to me? Don't worry, we shall meet...
