also 4wd is wack and teaches you **** all for real rwd drifting. makes you lazy, doesn't require particuarly accurate steering inputs and you can power out of anything with no real chance of spinning.

Not true all the time. If you set the Torque Sensing Differential to 90% Power to the Rear wheels and 10% to the front, its harder to initiate a drift and harder to keep from spinning out, especially when you have the Acceleration Sensitivity to a high % value to create an easy power over, you give it too much gas and it will slide from underneath you.

granted 4wd skids are fun but there's no point learning a 4wd driftu technique just to have to unlearn most of it for rwd. the steerin inputs involved with awd slides mean turning in at crazy points in a corner in order to kill understeer, that you would insta crash with using in rwd.

Does the road surface seem different on different tracks? Not elevation changes, but the surface itself

Ran laps on Tsukuba, Grand Valley, Fuji SPeedway, and Tokyo R246.

The R246 seemed harder to get sideways. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this?

yeah, noticed some tracks have less traction than others alright.
Reckon Fuji is one of the more slippery tracks too.

yes i have noticed this to for example the nurburing gp/f and autium ring (mini) are tracks with good traction but tokyo R264 is very slick when it comes to drifting. Even when i race my touring cars the semi circles are quite slick.

what is happing in rome? aland18? or are you saying that you drifted there and it didnt turn out to well?

correct.

Tried the offline sector mode out last night on Rome forward and it was a) pretty short and boring and b) tough to get sideways, especially on the second turn.

although, I could've probably done better if I had brought a higher powered, all motor (was running my Supra RZ) car but after a few runs I had lost interest

i got a laugh on one of the licence tests and drifted around the first two corners lol
i run farriri's and lambo's when i drift plus i have never drifted there

a high powered, slippery car would probably do fine there.

on a side note, I tried drifting online last night. I had been hesitant to do it b/c everybody kept saying the physics were totally different online, people were uber-strict on running, etc.

jumped into a random lobby and was pleasantly surprised. had a great time and got several compliment on drifts. only thing is I tend to go slower through the turns than most - guess its the sector mode runs that have been engrained in my head

I didn't really notice a difference in physics other than the slight lag that rarely happened

yes the worst thing that can happen online while drifting is a lag it can totaly F@#$# you up like crazy

oh on another note i have experimented with cars rangeing from 427 (acura NSX '01) to 680hp being my farriari f430 i have a good grasp on high and low speed drifters i you need one for a spacific track or elevation.

I appreciate it but I've got some high HP cars that I use for drifting. Have a viper SR10 and a Cerbera Speed 12 if I'm just trying to get points.
