I've got a couple of questions about this wheel before I purchase it later on in the year. and was wondering if any of you guys would be able to help out, I've been lurking around for a good few months now.

1) Is it any good? I mean, obviously it's the official GT steering wheel (as far as I know) but are there any major draw backs? (I don't plan on buying the G25/27 since I'm buying some Astro A40's this year instead).

2) Can I still have my Sixaxis connected via bluetooth with the wheel plugged in? I prefer navigating menu's and such via the controller, plus it has the almighty home button.

That's all I have for now :).

1). Yes it is a good wheel, well if I can compare it to my old driving force pro (The DFGT should be even better). Major drawback, maybe the pedal set (Which both of the wheels share) feels plastic and cheap.

2) Yes you can.

I have a question too. :embarrassed:

I'm getting a wheel for GT5/P and GT5/P only. Should I buy a DFGT or should I pay the extra cash for a G25?

I believe the G25 is better than the DFGT, but it's also more expensive :embarrassed:.

@ Lil_Kaching: Thanks alot man, great help :).

@Tsukuba: For JUST GT5 & GT5P I would go with the DFGT because of the adjustments that you can do real time while racing that you cannot do with any other wheel. This feature is also just for GT5 so you won't miss it not working in other games too. Just ask yourself how badly you want a clutch and better shifter. I use the paddle shifters 90% of the time anyway and to me the clutch isn't a deal breaker so DFGT wins.

@Arkano5: 1) Yes, it's quite good! Drawbacks? The shifter cannot be moved around physically like on G25 and there is no clutch pedal. The pedals feel ok to me though, the brake has a bit of resistance and honestly it's a 2 minute mod with a sponge if you want a bit more resistance on either. They are still plastic, but they're fine. 2) Yup, you can have the controller wirelessly working fine, but note that the DFGT has a home button too which works just fine in GT5P &5.

I think I won't be using paddle shifters as much. G25 has a VERY nice clutch and shifter.. I don't know dude.

If you want a nice shifter, the one on the G27 feels more ''realistic'' than the one on the G25 but you can't switch it in sequential mode. Apart of that, the two wheels are pretty similar.

You're welcome. 👍

That is wrong! You can do the adjustments that you can do real time with every wheel! You can config the button in the option menu :sly:

If you're not using the paddles and the money isn't an issue and you want a clutch and shifter (the G25s are nice indeed) then you should totally get a G25 and consider your decision made 👍

Ohh for real? If that's true then that's probably something I should've considered (still like DFGT though!). The fact that the wheel is really easy to spin on the fly is more appealing to me then tapping a button six or seven times, but cool to know.

Unless the winky face means that I'm a gullible ape :dunce:.

When iI translate this ?gullible ape? right you do not believe me. But it is true.
I drove long time with that setup (GTP) on the G25. I used the buttons on the Shifter.
But I never needed the adjustments. I think this feature is kind of useless.

I had one and found there is an issue with the brake pedal holding on slightly owing to the pot being poorly mounted, mine failed within a day. I believe there are mods you can make to overcome this but do you really want to mod a brand new set of pedals? Also one of my retaining legs broke off. I have now got my money back and am looking for either a G27 (all G25 bargains apear to be gone and can only be bought for a fraction under the G27) or a fanatec GT3 RS. Yes they are a lot more money but I only ever play driving games and decided I was worth it.
P.S. the dissapointment of the DFGT worked wonders perseuding the wife to let me spend the extra money, :sly:

I was kinda joking, you're totally right it turns out 👍!

I have both the DFGT and the G25. They are both great wheels for the money. Yes the DFGT pedals may stick a bit on the brake but this is easily fixed. The G25 is really more a full blown peripheral for use with PC sims and will take more effort to set up properly. you will need to mount the gearshift, and due to the extra force in the feedback of the G25, it needs to be rigidly mounted.

If you only play PS2/PS3 games, and you only have a fairly basic cockpit setup, then the DFGT is the choice. The G25 wont work on many PS2 games that I have exept GT4. That said, there is a posibility it may not work on some PS3 games as well.

If you plan on setting up a full on cockpit, and maybe play some PC games as well, then the G25/G27 would definately be worth the extra money in the long run. The G25/G27 is also the choice if you plan on modifying the wheel/pedals/shifter.
