Because
Everything that is documented on Plate Tectonics needs a spherical Earth. The convection cycles wouldn't work. Deep mantle plumes would go in one direction, and there would be sufficient heat on the outer reaches of the Earth to keep the plates moving.
Earthquakes data show these plates are still moving. If the Earth was flat, how do they still have energy to move. Furthermore, what stops them from drifting off the edge of the world?
If the plates are not moving, why do we have EQs? It's a large flaw in FE "thinking".
It is, but it's not. If a Flat Earther can essentially make up something like the Flat Earth because it "feels" right, then they can absolutely postulate any number of arbitrarily specific mechanisms that would duplicate plate tectonics.
What stops them drifting off the edge of the world? Maybe they do and new plates are continually being made that look like the old ones. Maybe it's an infinite flat plane. Maybe there are top secret bumpers out there that the Illuminati don't want us to know about. Maybe there's a recycling system like a bowling alley that brings them back to the other side.
How do they still have the energy to move? Maybe there's a bunsen burner under there. Maybe it's turtle farts. Maybe there's a little wizard shoving lumps of hot matter into conveyor tubes so that they end up in the exact right places. Where does the energy come from? Maybe it's just generated as needed. What proof do you have that the first law of thermodynamics is universal? Prove that to a Flat Earther, I dare you.
When you turn off logic as a restriction, you can explain any observation that might contradict your theory. It's why it's called pseudoscience. It's more a byproduct of the thinking that turns out the Flat Earth in the first place rather than a flaw in its own right.
Pointing out logical failings is a waste of time, as if Flat Earthers were amenable to logic they wouldn't be Flat Earthers.
