The Easiest Ways to Make Money and XP in Gran Turismo Sport

Finally bought my first 20 mil car, the XJ13. Nostalgic 1979 is fun, though I have no idea how anyone runs a clean race on this track or with this car.

Congratulations! I opted for the Jag first too.... beautiful machine. Used that to grind (much, much quicker!) for the Ferrari P4 (which I have to say is quite a bit faster but I prefer the Jag).

Clean races were harder than on BMB for me too at the beginning. Then I did a tune (see below as an addition to the one already given by Kowalski 1) added power and reduced weight to the max.
I hang back until the straight to start overtaking (unless there's a really slow car at the start). La Sarthe seems to have some weird track limits somewhere.... so stay away from the edges as much as you can!

Great video and great advice. Definitely noticed an improvement in waiting to overtake until the straight. I've gotten a few clean races under the belt now. Still seems hit and miss for what I've done to lose the bonus. Is the radar in the HUD accurate at showing track limits or is it a more general representation?

I'm not really sure! Hopefully someone with more experience can answer that......!
The hanging back to overtake will probably only work once you've done the upgrades..... if you don't and the P4s are near the front, I doubt you'll win.

For track limits, best to stay inside the white lines, but even those can be crossed in places, and still get the bonus. Contact with other cars is the big thing, I think. You can bump them from the rear, but any side contact will take the bonus away. That's really the only advise I can give in that respect. You get a few races under your belt, you'll see what you can get away with.

Won my 249th race there last night, and almost at 20 million again, so I'll be forced to buy another car. I'm running out of cars I want to buy.

Nostalgic is they way to farm XP. It's fun and doesn't get boring so fast as BMB. I'm using P4 fully upgraded and doing times around 6:50. Clean race is really rasy to do, and felling the raw strength of those cars is great I've bought so far only P4 and Ford Mark I, as I really like how it looks, dunno how it drives. Next one will be probably Jaguar.

All in all they really overdo the whole leveling system. Going to 50 is a nightmare and I regret that I didn't use the glitch with pit stop when it was available..i don't know why they decided to give us so little xp and require tremendous amount of those points to just level up... Because of that thing, this is the most boring GT game I've ever played. They could easily fix this with one little patch, but they won't do it.

There really is no need for anyone to be in a hurry to level 50 unless you just want the platinum trophy asap, because that is all it's good for and means absolutely nothing else. there are no prizes for it.

You only need to reach level 40 to unlock all of GT League, and that's less than halfway to level 50. Take your time if you're not fussed with the platinum trophy.

Level 40 is only 16% of the way to level 50 ;)

So your advice should be duly noted.

If you are a long term player, you'll get to level 50 eventually without needing to grind. Although admittedly it's a lot quicker through GT League than the Sport mode which I would agree should be sorted by PD.

I only play offline. I did 50 BMB races early on, but since then I just mix up GT League events without grinding, choosing a car and running different events with it. If it's Japanese FR and can get to 394hp or above, that can take me a week for one car...

I'm at level 48 and a third and know I'll get to 50 in due course, especially with the updates being released at a good rate. I'm still working my way through the first March Update cars yet!

I’m right there with ya. I could have written this exact thing and not be lying except I’m level 47 and I’ve done fewer BMB races, 16 wins, probably less than ten attempts on top of that that weren’t wins. And they were more to try and get down to the times and clean races that others were doing than to grind credits.

By just playing the offline game in races I enjoy I managed to have enough credit to buy all the cars from the last update, including the latest Ferrari. I will continue to play like this and eventually catch em all. I’m at 3,000,000 credits or so now and by the time the next update comes I’ll have enough for most of those cars too I think.

Now, I might feel differently for two reasons. If I were trying to do something like what @MidFieldMaven is doing with testing all N cars at certain tracks it would suck to have that Miura so far out of reach. And two, if the ultra expensive cars were actually fun and part of interesting events I’d be more bothered that I didn’t have em all. I just have the P4 and while I’ll eventually get the others, I don’t need them to have fun. And I’m certainly not buying any with actual money.

I have a little over 5 million Cr. right now. I started at zero around 2-3 weeks ago. I do one BMB 15-lapper every day for 345,000 Cr. and test a car at Suzuka for around 20-30,000 Cr. IIRC...It will take another month at this rate for me to afford the Miura. Insane.

Don’t forget to budget credits for the next update too so it may be five/six weeks.

I went through and confirmed ownership or purchased every N class car this morning, except one, the Miura. Buying that million credit Abarth was a little painful. I’m not too fussed about getting the Miura yet. It will probably be my next big purchase after the 962 and whatever other N class cars arrive.

If you’ve ever bought cars (with credits) and subsequently won duplicates through the daily workout then it may be worth considering selling the original and keeping the dupe.
I went through my garage and gained a quick 1.5 million by selling cars.
Captain obvious here but there may be someone that hasn’t thought of it.

What's BS is that it takes 35 minutes to earn 1 million Cr. Like 11-12 hours of grinding to buy ONE CAR. I miss GT2.
35 minutes to earn 1 million Credits, well that is bloody good mate and the more time you spend playing the game, the more credits you will get 👍.
Less time playing the game, the less credits you will get.

A few weeks ago, I was adviced to wall ride on personalised race on Northern Isle all night long to get a few millions each days. Basically the idea was to race a N100 against GR1 with 2 cars on track, to finish 2nd and get a huge prize money. However I tried twice since 1.37 and both times I didn't get any money, as when my car spins and stops in a wall for a few hours during the race. But this was not the case and the car was wall riding for the whole night. Did you notice the same thing? Is PoDi really willing to make us play for days to get the 330 P4 and others 20m Cr cars?

Edit: typo

I can afford the most expensive cars in GT1 in an hour. This is ridiculous.

Same for GT2... Even GT5 and 6 were quite nice to get cars with the connection bonus, the car exchange and others. I don't understand why PoDi made Cr in GTS so difficult to earn...

I updated my kudosprime profile earlier today, I miss about 25 cars in GTS for a total of 120 000 000Cr. I'll never get them all! And that's a shame as I'd like to play the Cobra Daytona, the Mark IV and others...

Being able to sell dupes would go a LONG way to getting 10 million+ Cr.

Winning a car after every set of races that we could sell repeatedly just like the old games would also be nice. PD is being very cheap nowadays. At least remove the cap on buying cars with real money! Although if they're charging $10 for a car, no thanks. Most I'd pay is $5 and even that's pushing it.

DLC cars in GT5 where about 1€ / 1$ each, whatever their real value. But I don't remember if buying the DLC unlocked the car into the brand central or if it also add it to the garage too. Whatever I won't pay real money to unlock content, they just missed up their prize money targets...

I believe it's always been the case that if you finish too far behind you don't get the prize money. Haven't tried in a long while, so I don't know if anything has changed. Also, Blu Moon Bay was better than Northern Isle for this.

So maybe they just adjusted the gap to the leader... I've no idea what they did to be fair.
When I tried for the first time, BMB was worse than NI. Maybe they did some adjustments at some points too.

I would hope to Creation that PD will eventually allow the sale and trade of unwanted cars. I'm getting very near to quitting GT Sport, truly... this would also save me a bundle IRL because it's my only game that requires PS+. Not sure if I will buy the next installment at all, let alone on release date as I have always done.
