The fastest ROAD car in GT4!

Minolta blah blah blah... yes, we all know that's the fastest race car... but if (like me) you're more interested in what a tuned up ROAD car can do, then this is the place for you to post those ultra fast top speeds!

Me, I get a hell of a lot more of a thrill finding out that that harmless looking car in my garage can do 270mph, than I ever will with a car I know goes fast, because it was designed that way...

So what's your fastest to date..? Muscle cars, prototypes, tuned up street racers, and supercars are all welcome... but the cars that you can leave out are...

F1 cars...
Touring cars (JTWC etc)
Full on race cars (787Bs, GT1s etc)
LM cars etc... (such as GT40 LM)
Rally cars (not that they have much top end mostly, anyway)

Basically, if it has a race car paint job, it's not a road car, so leave it in the garage :D

And those using Tuner cars... no, I haven't forgotten, but not all tuner cars have race paint jobs... (Opera for example) but c'mon... is that the best you can do???

Have fun tuning your road car into a 1,000BHP monster! :D

One of the fast ones, has to be (goes without saying this) the TVR speed 12... no idea WHAT they did to this baby compared to GT3 but it sure gained some HP, as well as some serious speed! In GT3 I was hard pushed to get this baby to 250... in GT4 it his easily 260 on it's own, and with NOS a heart stopping 303... (and no wheelie tricks either!)

I'll have to check on the Zonda C12S and Cien to see what mine do... been a while since I drove those, but as I recall, they're damn fast...

just to start. dont double post in your own thread. use the edit feature.

I also like to tune road cars, and tend to try and avoid the race cars. But with all the Gt series.. its unavoidable. I love the NSX and the DMC delorean, there quite quick 👍, theyre probably the best handling cars in the game too

i have a mean zo6 but i too like the road cars..I still like the race cars but I know more about the road cars....it's just fun to build them...but let me check my garage and I'll get back...

Well there are quite a few cars that come to mind.

In no particular order...

VW Nardo
R390 GT1
Ford GT '05
Saleen S7
Jaguar XJ220
Zonda C12 S 7.3
ZZ2 (GT Mode only)
Mercedes SLR
TVR Speed 12

There are so many other cars I would like to talk about and I am sure there are a few I'm leaving out.
Don't hesitate to remind me of the ones I should have mentioned. ;)

Btw, I will be back in the morning to talk about those ones I'm sure I left out. :D

didnt like the new vipers so i bought a "classic" gts coupe, maxed out you can go 260mph easy, the car can hold a steady 250 on stock gearing

yeah, the sl65 is a damn good car, the supra tops out pretty good. the viper, ZZII, the tvr speed 12 is just crazy, ive seen some rx-7's get up there. but for the best all around i gotta say the sl65

SL65.. nah.. not in my opinion..

One CRAZY car is the Tommy Kaira ZZII... it's insane :nervous:

TVR Speed 12, stock it can do sub 7 min laps of the ring, I can't do that with any other road car barring the ZZ-II but thats a race car, you can adjust the settings on that straight from the dealer too. When it comes to a road car thats been tuned then it depends a lot on how good you are at setting a car up. I know the basics but I can't tune a cars settings to perfection like a lot of the guys in the WRS can. I don't see the point in comparing tuned road cars though cos they're basically race cars by the time you've finished with them.

Well the RUF RGT got raped for power. No Turbo upgrades at all :indiff:. The thing used to get over 1000 hp now you can only get around 586bhp with NA upgrades.

My faster street cars in order are my Ford GT, BMW M3, and my 666hp Chevelle :mischievous:

Well i got my mitsi 3000gt VR4 to 270mph, buy one, you'll be surprised at what it can do (and how it can look - oh so sexy in black with a nice set of wheels) but i prefer racing/driving stock cars, for some reason i get more enjoyment out of it, but thats probably only cause im no good at tuning!

I love the 3000GT, sexiest car ever made. :sly: You could get it going with some hellacious power in GT3, but much like so many other cars, it got a significant nerf in GT4, I still love it though.

The Viper SRT-10 is definitely a hot contender. The Speed 12 might have a huge engine and tons of HP but it's also a very unstable car (in my experience). Its fun to drive, but I think the Viper can top it.

chevelle?. i cant get mine to hook up for crap

Personally, I prefer not to tune my high-powered cars, and prefer to test them around Cote D' Azur to see which ones are the best.

i just bought a TVR speed twelve, and being a ROAD car i put N3 tires on it. i cant control it around the nurburgring, well i can if i have like 10% trottle the whole way. but, for a road car, it seriously sucks ass..
SLR is nice too...

You're driving sucks ass, the Speed 12 can do sub 7 min laps of the Ring stock. It's one seriousely fast machine, if you can't get it to go fast thats you're problem, not the cars because plenty of people CAN drive it fast.

I can do sub 7 min times with a stock speed 12, stock tyres, I turn the ASM off and set the TCS at 3. I don't change ANY parts, the car is completely stock.

Already have, and you're not getting the best from the car. Theres nothing wrong with using some TCS for a car as powerful as the Speed 12. And I never said I don't use assists, theres a handful of cars in GT4 that can be driven faster with TCS set low rather than off, the Speed 12 is one of them. Other cars like SLR are ***** cats in comparison, they don't have enough power and torque to make TCS almost a neccesity for a fast time. And N3 tyres arn't stock on the car. You're complaining about how a car drives when you're handicapping it further than it is stock. Drive it stock, set TCS between 2-5 and then see how fast the car is, I doubt you'd like it even then because I can still do fast laps with no TCS but you're having a lot trouble with it, it'll just shred you're tyres too fast. I haven't done under 7 mins with no TCS but it's possible with good enough throttle control. If you do have the patience to learn the car it can be extremely rewarding, but it's not for everyone. However, it's in no way slow or crap.

EDIT: Why can't I type ***** cats, Pu55y cats.

Yep, and you can get the Speed 12 there without NOS.

R390 road car fully tuned-Pathetically easy to beat LMP's, nearly as fast as F1's.

Speed 12, whole different story. Too overpowered, doesn't have the handling of the R390.

If we're talking stock road cars then it might be different. I'd still take the ZZII over the Speed 12 if they were both stock.

For top speed, I really don't care.
