A laughable claim, mister Jimlaad42, perpetuated by overzealous teachers of science. Simply construct Newton's laws in a rotating system and you will see a centrifugal force term appear as plain as day.

With the right reference frame you can show just about anything. But in all seriousness, the use of a rotating reference frame to explain the sensation of centrifugal force is actually fairly good approximation of what your brain is doing.
