It appears to be a screenshot of a Tumblr comment above an otherwise completely banal picture of a courtroom - making it a funny screenshot rather than a funny picture as the picture is not the focus of the funniness.

Ok, that captioning format comes from Tumblr screenshots (I didn't know)... is it really effectively any different from a caption somebody added by hand to the picture, making it into a one-panel comic of sorts? And assuming the picture itself is actually funny (which it isn't in my case, but certainly is in @zedextreme8177 and @V0RT3X 's cases), what's the issue there? The caption might elaborate unnecessarily on why those pictures are funny, but it certainly isn't the focus. You could edit the captions out and they'd still be funny.

And also, if the funniness being derived from text is an issue, shouldn't comics also be relegated to a separate thread? I could've sworn they were at one point...

With all due respect, I disagree. I mean one of your pictures (aint peters church) isn't even a screenshot... It's just got a caption in a similar spot. And the caption isn't what makes it funny either.

And there's still a Snapchat-captioned picture in the funny pic thread... What makes funny snapchat captions okay but not funny tumblr ones, @Famine ?
