This tune, with only slight variations, is the one I use for the Escort. It currently sits at 17th on RSR out of 700+ drivers so far with a 1:43.394., only 0.6 behind third place, and holds position 1 through 6 at 7 other tracks. For Brands, I used a tall set of gears to set that time, I think it was the 249 km/h top speed setup, which gives you only 4 gears. Reason being, while being in the top rev range is important, it's even more important to be able to put your foot down and go with this car with some level of confidence that you're not going to spin up the rears and the taller gears let you do that easier, at least for me. That's using heel and toe shifting, if you use paddles it might be easier with the short gearbox, which I think tops out around 218 km/h at Brands. You have to be comfortable being sideways in this car to get anything out of it, just like the real car. Try tuning the LSD a little and see how it affects corner entry and exit to suit your liking.

Thanks JP, I'll give it a go. I think the tall gearbox will work well with this car, especially coming out of Druids, Graham Hill, and Surtees.

I just hope I get some time to familiarize myself more with RHD (G27 ftw). When I've driven the Escort in both DiRT & AC I usually end up fumbling through the 'gates'

Do you move your shifter to the other side when you drive RHD cars?

Yeah, sounds silly but I like the variety/challenge it offers, I do it for any car that's like that - 180sx, Land Rover, Escort, etc.

Oooh nice thing! I'm interested in this. I wasn't able to do most of @Johnnypenso 's Time Attack Challenges due to lack of time, that's why I haven't signed in. But now I have a small break between semesters I'll have time and I'll do my best to be competitive

Look forward to racing with you. 👍

I should be free tomorrow evening, I'll try to open up the server around the normal scheduled start time (6pm EST/11pm GMT) for some practice and connection testing.

I've considered doing that, I've always been curious about what it would be like to shift with my wrong hand. Would be pretty easy to modify my rig to handle it.

Looking at the calendar, the 12 Hours of Bathurst is coming up in a couple weeks, I'm thinking we should take the GT3's to the Mountain for the race after Donington. I see there's a Bathurst mod on RD but I'm not sure if I've driven it. Anyone here ever tried it out, and if so is it of decent quality?

I'm going to do my best to be there Brandon, haven't spent much time in the Ford, good time for it!!!

Might not be 100% accurate, but I enjoy driving it, it is close enough to have fun.

Which SIM as a good one who could be a good reference?

I saw this today on Facebook might be worth a try, not sure if it is the same I have.

As long as there aren't any technical problems with the track (like car eating black-holes, barrel roll inducing kerbs, or major mesh issues) and it isn't horribly ugly I'll be happy with it even it it isn't 100% accurate. Not sure what the best comparison would be, I think GT laser scanned their version so it could be a good benchmark but I don't have my PS3 hooked up anymore. R3E's looks great but I don't know how accurate it is. There's at least one version for AC on RD, I'll grab it tonight and have a look.

I've just seen the race will be held tomorrow. Count me in! It'll be a bit late for me, but I think that shouldn't be an issue for me.

Excellent! It is slightly late for the Euro folk but it's the best time I could think of that would theoretically allow Muricans, Euros, and Aussies to race together so hopefully it works for most people.

I'm going to try to open the server tonight around the normal starting time for some practice if you're interested, but there's a chance I might be meeting my dad to have a beer and discuss purchasing a house so it may or may not happen, or it may be a short session. I'll post here if I open it up.

in ireland this summer, I Realized that actually left-hand shifting is easier for right-handed people. Makes sense to have your dominant hand on the wheel at all times. however, in games I only have paddle shifters.

Probably for fairly new drivers. I've been driving stick for...........ugh, like 20+ years now, so my hands are fairly confident in their duties. :D I'm somewhat ambidextrous too, that probably helps.

Iracing has Bathhurst, not sure if you have it or not.

Been there done that, but not presently, maybe some one who is still active might be able to give an opinion.

Is GT6 Bathurst laser scanned? I still have my PS3, I could have a look there.

I think so. I remember when they were scanning it there was a local guy who created a thread on here with pics showing the scanning crew. It might not have been laser scanning but they had some pretty serious equipment.

Damn I forgot about teamspeak... I'll have it up for tomorrow!

No worries! It's not mandatory, anything important I'll type into the chat box. But it would be good to at least have the audio on so you can hear any important discussions about restarts or server resets, and the general chit chat. PunkNoodle and I had a very deep conversation about weather tonight. :D

Hmm, I went online with AC earlier tonight and didn't see it, wasn't necessarily looking for it either, but oh well.

Ended up track-day'ing a standard E30 around Touristenfahrten for about half-n-hour, destroyed a Z4 but got blown-away by an M4.

Some motivation from this post from a teammate:
