Hey guys,

I know we've all been looking forward to the arrival of the new BMW M3 and M5 in Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 5 for years. I completely agree with you.

But honestly, I haven't heard anything about an update with those cars in months. It seems like the director of Gran Turismo isn't doing anything to add new BMWs. I have no idea what he's doing or what other cars he wants to put in the game—but apparently not an M3 or M5…

And yes, of course it frustrates me! Come on, we just want to race the latest BMWs!

We'd like to see things into which some thought has gone, so please don't make excessive lists. If you're posting every Ford Fiesta ever made, every track in France, or a list of 1800 cars/250 tracks, or cars already in the game, you're not really doing that. Please keep your posts to a reasonable length; think about things you'd really want, if someone was holding you at knifepoint for a quick answer. And don't just post pictures, or make individual posts for individual cars - it's a wishlist thread.

If you want to suggest one car, that's what the Suggestions/Cars forum is for. And, for some reason and despite the usual practice of folks instantly suggesting any newly unveiled car, that one isn't in there...

That stopped being frequent thing since somewhere in middle-to-late GT Sport era. To my knowledge, this was the only one that fits the bill this year, and only four last year would have likely fit the bill. (Proof)

This was an issue I pointed out several years ago when I noticed suggestion activity had began to dwindle.

I can only dream that the newest M3/M5 Touring cars would come to GT7. We can only hope those cars will be in GT8.

At least we have several M3's in GT7 aswell as the M4 and the M2 is currently my favorite and go to car. The rumble that car gives is just amazing (fully tuned, no engine swap). I need to focus on the M3's and M4 a bit (fully tuning and engine swapping).

Also i can't quite remember if it was GT3 or GT4 but in one of those games i used a RS6 to complete many many events/races. Tuned that RS6 was a beast and it also had the low engine sound pulling up. Fantastic car.

I miss more wagons like in the days of GT2.

We could start with this Tommy Kaira M20b Wagon 1996 based upon the GF8 Subaru Impreza.

PD: I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but to open a thread for car suggestions, I've seen that the name for tuned cars should first be the name of the original car (in this case, a Subaru Impreza GF8) and then the brand that tuned it (Tommy Kaira)

But I've also seen cars in the suggestion thread that have the Tommy Kaira name in front of them (like the R34), and I'm not sure how I should write the title if I want to include it in the suggestion thread.

The one in your image (also called BHG) is it. There's a second chassis (BFV) made up with an Aston Martin V12 in it, but the car's had more names than models ever produced (Project 7/12 concept, Speed 12 concept and race car, Cerbera Speed 12 "production" and race car) and BHG is really the final evolution of the Cerbera Speed 12 with race car bits and bobs on (and carved through) it.

Ah, a "Malaysian" car. Although, if I had my go on it (which I think it's done already):
1) Proton Satria Neo (2006-2015)

Kind of a no-brainier when it comes to wishing for Malaysian cars to appear in the game. It's somewhat sporty in its standard trims for a 3-door hatchback. Kinda a jack of all trades when it comes to the brand's motorsport ventures at the time. From road racing to rallies (Group N to Super 2000) it was as much of a poster child of the brand as the previous generation was to many people. Speaking of Group N, it was (and still is) the only Proton to have been sold in Japan through Cusco, in a time when the GT86 didn't exist for a short time.

2) Proton Iriz (2014-Present)

Rumor has it that it's going to be away for the next year or so. At one point it was supposed to be the brand's answer to the Perodua Myvi. An evolution of Italdesign's Proton EMAS concept from 2010, many argued that the Iriz was superior to the Myvi in-terms of ride quality (which might be the case). Just like the Satria Neo, it had its fair share in motorsports from production-car racing, rally races, and even an entry for rallycross variant. In hindsight, it had a lot of potential, even a 1.3l 6MT Turbo was displayed as a prototype. But instead, it was one of the last cars done by the company before Geely took a 49.9% stake of the company.

I could go on and list the current generation of the Perodua Myvi. But, the current facelift is only sold as a CVT, and knowing how much of a joy it is to tune CVT-equipped cars in the game, I rather not see it. Unless it's the prefacelift models. And I doubt Proton would ever make an apperance, if it's motorsports division has apparently gone under. It even took T10's notes by not saying a thing about what's really going on!

I feel the need to try out some slightly more recent casual cars, and I could see these in some future update. It certainly depends on the license, which isn't an objection, and on PDI's interests. Here are at least three completely new cars

If Forza Motorsport can bring back a destroyed car, so can Gran Turismo. It's been done before especially in GT5 with the Isuzu 4200R.

Forza is NOT Gran Turismo. Forza doesn't scan it's vehicles, and often uses old assets to recreate vehicles for Forza Motorsport. For GT7 PD needs a real life vehicle to scan (so they are accurate, unlike Forza), of which there are no examples left (of the Furai). So, the chances of the Furai coming to GT7 is very unlikely.

I'm pretty sure Forza does that now and has been doing it for a while.

it's vehicles, and often uses old assets to recreate vehicles for Forza Motorsport.

It's not that often, Forza has reused old models and updated their textures & added polygons. But only with cars brought from the older games. Cars added to the more recent games are scanned.
