The 956 did 242mph at Le Mans in '86, they had upwards of 800bhp in qualifying. The 4.5 litre 917s had 580bhp and the 4.9 litre cars had ~620bhp. A 917LH would easily outdrag a 956/962 at the top end but the 917K wasn't as quick in a straight line. Temper that the 956/962 used ground effect so they made a massive amount of downforce without much drag.
 
To me, there's no better sound than a NASCAR V8 starting (except, well, when it's turning 9,000 rpm at 200+ mph XD)




But the Mazda 787B is a close second!

 
Got to hear a Nissan 350Z (might've had a modified exhaust) for the first time today and it is one of the best sounding cars I've seen on the road
 
That sounds amazing, can't wait to see what the rest of the '17 GTLM lineup sounds like, especially the C7.R and 488.
