I've found the problem to be at least as much that many drivers are still doing quali lines in the race; it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise if someone following close goes for the inside when the door is left wide open; they have to aim somewhere after all.
Confucius say: sometimes little racing room left, save dive bomb from becoming so.

Sounds like you're still having a tough time after all of that bump drafting :P

Problem is I'm still too trusting of other drivers! I'm looking for clean respectful driving where both players leave room for each other, so when you find a good match you can swap places a couple times without issues. However I should be closing the door to the car behind me instead of trying to make up time to the car in front.

After Dragontrail it only took 3 races to get back to max SR, can't get unglued from it again. And at least the game recognizes bad behavior better as I just build up a clean streak of 3 while getting run off road yet gain. Unfortunately the clean streak was just broken by a yellow flag penalty from people crashing each other in the last corner. The person causing the incident slowed down to let the victim pass, however with the yellow flag still out I got 5 sec penalty for passing his ghosted car right before the finish line, cars behind me did not lol.

Oh well, anything better than the boring expanding parade type of races where you pretty much drive alone the entire race.

My pedals have suddenly lost all calibration and the lack of a proper in game way to solve it is proving very frustrating. I’ve tried all sorts of ways to get the ‘auto calibration’ to work but I’m finding myself unable to get more than about 80% throttle and 50% brake all of a sudden. I really can’t understand why a basic manual calibration option was left out of what is supposedly to be a serious sim.

Having no issues in PC2 so I guess it’s back to that for now

Overall I really like the GTS it needs work but I like it and at the same time I'm getting bored as hell playing it. I just can't seem to find anyone who wants to race the way I do anymore. I'll explain. Coming from GT6 I never had a problem finding rooms full of people racing street cars on sport tires its just what most people like to race.

Move over to GTS and nobody race's street cars on sport tires at all. Every freaking room is people racing Street Cars or Race Cars on race tires and while that can be fun for awhile it gets old quickly driving cars that stick to the track like glue. Not much of a challenge.

This game now has a good amount of N-Class cars that just go to waste. Sport Mode won't even touch anything above N-300 anymore from the N-100 to N-1000 class. Why the hell does Sport Mode not do anything from the N-500 to N-1000 class on sport tires. That's when things start to become fun

I've competed everything in the game there is to do and now I find myself racing AI in custom race's just to find something to do and it's getting boring. It's sad to come from a game were people enjoyed racing with street cars on sport tires to a game where most people can't drive a high powered car on sport tires if there life depended on it.

I totally agree with you on N-class. Its a waste of BoP not using it in the sport mode. But it will come dont worry.

Otherwise I am hosting some nice private lobbies with road cars in all N-classes with almost all sport tyres.
If you want you can join us sometimes.

I will take you up on that offer

Add me if you want to joing road cars rooms like that. I'm in European time zone but I usually race with 4 or 5 people with road cars of all type, from comfort to sport tyres. Nice to see people interested in this kind of races. My PSN account is in my profile. 👍

Well what a big steaming pile of aids. Few races in the Lexus on dragon tail tonight, doing ok but fancy a change of car. I hop in the Viper, I’m starting 14th place, right on the bend, max revs in gear 2 and I spin before the race even starts. What an absolute waste of my time

Powerful rear wheel street cars will lose traction on road elevation changes. You must come off full throttle in spots to keep them under control. That's what makes them fun

No i mean the auto drive spun me because it was turning at high revs

Also, god damn it the trees are 2D. They appear to follow the camera, which, just...it's 2018. come on.
I do not understand this complaint. The trees in most other racing games are just two 2D sprites which do a much worse job looking realistic to my eyes; for one they cant adapt to lighting/shadows anything like as well as GTS's trees.

The best implementation i have seen was in Driveclub, with a whole bunch of forward facing sprites that were oriented to look like a 3D tree, and even then GTS actually has a few trees like that.

The trees themselves in Driveclub were polygonal, and the leaves were probably flat 3D plane objects, since as you can see the leaves were still affected by the lighting engine. (how I wish we had road courses like this in GTS, even if it meant a 30fps mode) I'm not sure if the trees you're referring to in GTS are that way also...as you say, I've noticed some that look more polygonal.

I only get a small window to play. At most a couple of hours a week. So when i do get time to play sport mode its an oval, group1 (pad user=slow as) and bloomin maggiore where to be fast you need to know how to.cut corners best. So frustrating. Or the race is a good one for me but starting either right now so no time to qualify or in 30 mins time so too long and end up.getting only one race in that night.

Even when the stars collide and i get a decent track with a decent group with about 15 minutes to get a fast qualy in first corner someone take me out, pushing me into cutting the track and racking up huge penalties which just wont dissapear unless i totally stop.

Surprised this thread has only 96 pages to be honest..

Also has cutting in front of people as soon as you pass become a thing? Noticed in today’s race that if you do, and just clip the nose of their car then the person behind receives the penalty and the other car stems off into the distance...

Guess most people on here are happy with the game.

My complaint, lack of touring sedans. The Atenza, WRX, and Lancer are cool. However, there is a Hellcat, sitting all by its lonesome and can't play in Gr4.

Cutting people off after a pass is a relatively common thing in races, and I don't think it's illegal. What you described is just a very poor execution of the move that made it an incident.

And yeah to be quite blunt, I don't understand why people create threads just to complain (And most of those problems are already tackled either here or in other threads), when this thread is specifically created to whine and complain. I guess this is my contribution to the whines, but I just really don't get why people do this. Is it because they want attention? Maybe, especially that 50% of these threads don't even ask for an answer and straight up say "PD sux" or "not gonna buy/play GT anymore I'm sO dOnE". But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

:)

For the exact same reason why we don't just have one thread for positive posts about GTS and let people post in that!

GTS is a massive title and has its fair share of issues, to bury them all in one thread would ensure that any discussion of these issues was closed down.

GT Planet isn't that kind of place.

Well, didn't think about that. But I guess there's still relevance to my statement since sometimes I see multiple threads here about the same issue. I can see your point now why they'd post it on a seperate thread and not here, but why not keep the discussion on that thread as well instead of creating multiple threads? It sort of divides the discussion on one issue.

The exact same question can be asked of topics positive to GTS, or any title for that matter.

The simple fact is that some will serve a general purpose (such as this one for non specific moans) and others will crop up around more specific topics (the pit stop glitch for example or the latest update). The better ones will attract the posts and stay alive and the poorer ones will not.

The basic truth is that as long as a thread and / or post follows the AUP, then it stays, and the AUP doesn't require positivity for any title.

I know that basic truth, it's just that I find that basic truth, well, something to moan about.

Good point about good moan threads staying alive compared to moan threads of the same topic dying if they're not as good.

And yeah I can apply that to the positive threads, but you know, personal "preferences and biases". I won't apply the same arguments to the positive threads simply because I like those kinds of threads. On the same note, because I see so many moan and complain threads about the same topic, I'll apply my logic, that you reasonably debunked. After all, in the end this is a personal complain, and I stated what I find aren't in agreement with my personal "preferences and biases" :)

Hellcat would look even more out of place than a Megane:lol: We should have a V8 Supercar style class so that big sedans have a place.

Cant afford to go online so gt sport will be going to trade in, brilliant game but got bored of four tracks and twenty cars, we're not all rich polyphony!!!!!!!!!!
