What?! Wait, what?! Why other thread?! And why no link here to the other thread if so?! My world!
For years in the Photomode Competition and from the start for the Livery Editor Competition, the poll and the winner’s announcement were in a separate thread created after the « main » thread, in which the OP collects all the entries in one post to assure they are all in the same place.

The current polls and competition threads are pinned in the forum section long enough so everyone can see them.

If you want to have an extensive look at all the winning entries, all the threads and all the poll, have a look at @Raphaele Hall of Fame where everything is listed.

And all the podium entries with their links are viewable in my Flickr gallery.

Hi! I will not argue with you, it’s just I want to point out a different approach.

If something is going “for years” that doesn’t automatically guarantee its quality or perfection.

If you’d like to have the participation (or voting) of new people who never visited you and don’t have any experience with your competition traditions or habits, then would be pretty nice to be a good guest and guide them through ... this.

The participants posts (cars / liveries) can be added easily to the OP before the poll starts.

A simple link in the last post here in this thread wouldn’t hurt anyone.

Just my thoughts. Cheers.

It wasn’t meant to be rude, at all.

In fact, when I said « for years », it was more a reaction to your surprise, considering your longevity and post count here, not to argue that we don’t have to change.

The LEC and the PMC are always evolving and any criticism is welcome. Adding the link to the poll at the end of the thread is easy, and useful, so I’ll do that as soon as the next poll.

Merging the main thread and the poll is another thing, though. Although it is technically the same amount of work to create a new thread or to edit a previous post, I see two major issues there :
1) It would be confusing : the first post will contain the rules for the competition, then the rules for the poll. Also, chronologically, it will be hard to tell if a post in the thread is made about the theme or the poll.
2) Editing a post doesn’t send notifications/show new post. So only the people who are already well aware of the competition will come back to see if the poll is launched. Sure the title could be edited and an announcement made, but yet again, I think it will be confusing.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the new eye on the competition organisation, I’m open to more suggestions (we even have a thread here) and maybe you’ll join us at some point!

No worries. I understand and all is good. 👍

It doesn't matter just I can't keep myself. ;) For your second point, the solution is to announce the change of the OP in a new, usual post with a link to it. But like I said, it doesn't matter.

I think I was frustrated for losing the poll and my logic popped up. 💡

Your doing a great job already and keep it going. 👍 Thank you for inviting me. 👍
