THIS FORTNIGHT'S THEME

This week, we are giving our heart and talent for a cause! Last winner @LaSupra set this theme, let's hear what he has to say :

In the month that brings Movember and Armistice Day, and in inspiration of Jimmy Broadbent's 'Race For Mental Health' earlier in the year; this fortnight focuses on creating two racing liveries for a team to use in a theoretical fundraiser race weekend.

The main sponsor: any charitable, non-profit or non-government organisation; national or international, that serves to help others and improve the overall quality of life. You can pick a well-known charity whose logo design gives you more creative freedom, or one that isn't as well known in order to raise awareness and popularity of it's work.

Each team that enters has to race one Group-spec car (Gr.3 or Gr.4) and one Support series car (see below). The cars chosen for the event would compete in their respective Group or One-Make series races to determine the winners. Prize money from each race would go to the charity that ran those cars, so make sure you pick well.

CARS :
Livery 1:
- Any Gr.3 car (for this competition, the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo will be allowed and counted as a Gr.3 car)
- Any Gr.4 car
Livery 2:
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991) '16
- Mazda Roadster Touring Car
- Subaru BRZ S '15/Toyota 86 GT '15/Toyota 86 GRMN '16

LIVERIES :
- Original liveries only, no replicas

UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS :
- The liveries need to be Sport Compatible, as Number Plate 02 is compulsory.
- The main sponsor has to be your chosen charity, NPO or NGO; and cannot be anything else.
- If any secondary or tertiary main sponsors are used, they are recommended to be in some relation to the main sponsor; either through the subject matter of the charity or through other sponsorships of the charity, but this is not compulsory.

BONUS PICTURE SETTINGS :
- Three bonus pictures:
1 & 2. One of each car on any track with a woodland scenery i.e. Brands Hatch, Spa, Nordschleife etc.
3. One of both cars together in the pits, either on the pit lane or in the garage

USER MADE DECALS :
- No restrictions

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

ENTRY SUBMISSION

- The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here
- Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
- Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following:
Code:
[COLOR=red][B]FINAL ENTRY[/B][/COLOR]
- One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
- You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
- Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
- Absolutely no entries which utilize edited/hacked file saves.

- Winner gets to choose the following Fortnight's theme.
- Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
- The Host may ask for the original image/livery and it must be submitted if so.
- It's recommended to share the original livery online (in-game) to prove it’s your work.
- Winner, second and third places will have to share the links of the liveries for the Hall of Fame thread

ENTRY PRESENTATION

- All images shall have preview images which may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction (main and bonus pictures)
- You have to post two main pictures of your entry using the mandatory locations and settings as shown below
- You are allowed to post two bonus pictures in a spoiler with free location and settings (unless the unique restrictions of the week’s theme specify something else)
- You have to make one post with ONLY the 4 pictures and the FINAL ENTRY mark. If you want to add precisions/background story/links, you are allowed to double-post under your entry. The best way to do it will be to "reply" to your own post.

- It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr
- Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
- A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
- Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it; it makes poll creation much easier!
- No heavy post-game editing, slight enhancing is allowed.

MANDATORY PICTURES

- You have to post a front quarter view and a rear quarter view of your car.
- You can choose between the Shiretoko 03 location or the White Sands 01/09 locations. No other location will be allowed for the main pics.

If it's your first entry or if you struggle with the picture settings, have a look at the tutorials below :

That is a great idea, love it.
Maybe there is a possibility to do some donation to the winners organisation? :gtpflag:

What about the support decals, like oil, wheels, gas, seats - are they allowed on the car?

FINAL ENTRY

Some work in progress. Have watched 2 weeks ago as the Kindergarten next to my office has colorized some flowerpot with the hands of the children. So I am thinking to do the same with cars.

I’ve chosen my cause, and it didn’t exists in the game yet.

Even worse, out of their 18 official partners, only two already have a decal in the discovery section. :banghead:

I haven’t pick my cars yet, though...

I so wish we could do a Gr.3 and a Gr.4 car but hey ho I need to pick a theme 1st!!

I don‘t have a lot to say about this. I just looked through a list of NPO‘s and saw Medecins sans Frontieres/Doctors without Borders/Ärzte ohne Grenzen. I‘ve known them before and always thought their cause is something good.
I then looked through some car livery vector stocks to get some kind of inspiration which I then transitioned to the Genesis.
For the BRZ I just went with some sort of heartbeat to separate the cars sides but since I didn‘t feel that was enough I also split it in half and made it a bi-colored design.
Both cars are somewhat set up to race in the Super Taikyu Endurance series and since these cars are often pretty plastered with decals that is what I went with, even though I‘m still not really convinced about sponsors and placement :boggled:
Also upon research I found out that Adobe is a supporter of this NPO, so I added some decals of them as the main secondary sponsor :D

Haha 🤬 you just stol my idea ! :D
When I saw the theme I immediately thought about them as I actually donated them for years (when I didn't have 3 children and my salary allowed me to do so ! :D )

Good job and good ideas, I really wanted to do something with them but maybe I have another idea now you pushed me out of my thing ! 💡

Both are great but I’m fond of the tricolor heartbeat-splitted design!

Two (or more) liveries for the same cause are fine. The car variety and the colour options are open enough to see very different interpretations of the same idea.

Yes, maybe you're right, I'm gonna think about it.
@Nuschel01 have you found the MSF decals ingame or have you made them ?
I couldn't find them myself...

I understand the frustration with the rules and restrictions and I apologise for any difficulty this may cause. The rules are the way they are to try and emphasise the race weekend feel but I might've gone overboard with some of it. To clarify some of the restrictive decisions...

@250Cal The reason for the Number Plate necessity was because as a set of races separate from any other main division of racing, there wouldn't be an available number plate to use to signify this particular event. I could've made a few custom number plate SVGs to use but I don't think everyone would've got the memo to use them, and the number fonts people used might've been different. I restricted it to the GT Sport number plates because they were already available and standardised for all entrants, but I understand the placements can be awkward. I was in two minds to give the Amuse S2000 a shot as the side plate is directly in the middle of the car, but allowed it anyway because of how similar it looks to a wide-bodied race car.

@KK78 @MMX As for the car choices, I tried to pick cars closest to what a typical race weekend format would consist of in order to give more of that feel. The BTCC has a few main series races with Gr.4ish cars and some support series races like the Porsche Carrera Cup and the Ginetta GT Supercup. The closest thing to a Ginetta race car that wasn't already included in the Group spec category was the Mazda Roadster TC (but otherwise it would've most likely been the Cayman GT4). I also threw the 'Toyobaru' cars in as the 86 has a one make series in New Zealand; originally I was just going to have the stock 86/BRZ until Cytoria suggested to add the GRMN. At the time, no American one make series cars came to mind. I also knew that if the choice of cars was more open then nearly everyone would pick Gr.3 and Gr.4 rather than the 'road' spec cars because of their racing appeal.

To anyone thinking the nationality of the car limits the nationality of your chosen cause supporter, that is not the case. Any combination of sponsor and car is not only allowed but encouraged. The same case for the manufacturers; don't feel that you have to go for only Porsche, Mazda, Toyota or Subaru for the Group spec cars just because they're the only manufacturers available for Livery 2. Those cars are specifically chosen for their One Make race appeal, not to influence the Group car choice.

86 for UNICEF

Thank you for this theme! Was more work than expected despite the very simple execution of the design, as I wanted to avoid simple copy+paste work. But I had fun and decided to donate some money to UNICEF while I was doing this.

Please feel free to check what they do: https://www.unicef.org/

So, that's the story behind these two cars:

Toyota decided, that they want to do something good and joined with UNICEF for the charity race held in Spa.
The theme is 86 for UNICEF.
86 children were invited to be a VIP at the charity race for the weekend. As they were invited from all over the world, Toyota and UNICEF wanted to give them something unique, some joy and smiles to their not so easy life. Each kid was allowed to put there hands into their colour of choice and leave a print of their hands on these cars. So they become part of the race and can watch how their cars are flying with 200 trough Eau Rogue or drifting in front of them.

Donated was a GT4 GT86 and for the supporting drifting event a GT86 GRMN.

Hope you will find in these two 86s maybe a little bit of joy, too.

It's not a problem. Entry isn't mandatory! I get the impression these competitions are more aimed at serious rather than casual types.
