Not really. This is aimed at everyone no matter how skilled. I really don't get why making a number plate mandatory is such a big problem for you, the Aston's livery could easily be altered to fit those numberplates and still look good.

And on a side note, if you win you can give as many or little limitations to the rules as you wish :D

There's an inherent assumption that people have time to dedicate to doing multiple liveries. To do a reasonable job on a livery isn't a quick task. To do one that people will assess and critique adds to that I think. More rules generally means more effort. I don't know what those rules add in certain instances. Making liveries that will never be used isn't a good use of time for some people. Getting specific about the correct race series number board being in situe would be another example. Making the competition more accessible might get more people interested.

Like I said, it's not mandatory. These are just observations, I applaud those who put the time and effort in.

True that, I spent around 5-6 hours on my entry, but...

Making liveries that will never be used isn't a good use of time for some people.
...I use them from now on and already have heaps of other liveries from these competitions applied to my cars.

They‘re usually explained in the OP and they add to the challenge of the competition most of the time.

Getting specific about the correct race series number board being in situe would be another example.
Again, nothing really special or hard to work around. Also if you don‘t like the number board assigned for the competition you could always replace it with another one from the discovery search and have the car entered into any racing series of your liking.

Making the competition more accessible might get more people interested.
It‘s quite accessible imho :dunce:

Hats off, there's no way I'd have that time.

I've just made liveries for each of the cars I've used. If they work for a competition then they can be thrown in.

Absolutely, and I assume people use that as the basis as to whether to enter or not.

This was in reference to a previous edition. FWIW the discovery section can be a nightmare to navigate. I tend to use the website rather than the console version.

I'm not arguing, I was just making some observations. I'll shut up and vote on the entries later.

I can see this being a real livery. Really great job mate.

This round is so hard, looking at charity liveries on real cars they tend not to be overly complex, so balancing that with a handsome livery is hard for sure... and you’ve nailed it!

Thank you so much my good sir. Hope we get a lot more entries for this awesome theme.

I agree on that point. I can also add that in this theme, most of the cause’s logos don’t exist in the game yet and have to be created. But you can also search for less specific ones and use their logo (Unicef, WWF...).

For the multiple liveries aspect, you can do a copy-paste of your first livery on the second car. You still have to spend some more time in the editor but the research and creation time wil be saved. The easiest and cleverest way is to do like @ringkurier : Toyota GT86 GRMN / Gr.4. They fit the rules and are almost twins. I personally think of doing one « real » livery on the main car, and for the second it’ll be more like a Sunday Cup Car, with budget stickers and a few sponsors instead of a full livery.

If the time is really an issue, we can think about adding an extra week (this happened 3 times in the history of the LEC).

More rules generally means more effort. I don't know what those rules add in certain instances.

But if we just say « Do a livery », you never know what direction should be taken and which criterias should be investigated when voting. Rules must be clear yet open, so they stimulate reflections instead of creating barriers.

Making liveries that will never be used isn't a good use of time for some people.

Being challenged each week out of my boundaries, sharing my work with a friendly community, looking at theirs and getting thrilled by the suspense of the poll seems like a good use of my time... :D

Observations are always welcomed and we try to improve the LEC along the way. Some themes are more open than others, some may fit you but give a headache to another contestant... it’s hard to please everyone, especially when you have to find an original theme with already 40+ being made!

I wish you could update the Aston livery for this theme, but as you said, nothing is mandatory!

Even with the website it’s not an easy task. Fortunately, for some months now there is an user-made search engine, which is not sexy, but a million times more efficient than the official one!

Have a look :

That's helpful. Finding decals is so difficult. I don't even mind knocking out quick liveries for people if the required decals are all there ready to go but it can take hours to find some of them.

Sorry, I'm new in that business. You can copy / paste liveries ?! :dunce:
Unfortunately, no. I was meaning that you can use the same design and just re-do it on the second car instead of going through the whole creation process.

Yours work terribly well together and the background story is great too, I really like the idea of the 86 kids hand marks!

So here I bring you ‘The Yard’ sponsored Aston Workshop Racing Team.

The Yard is close to my heart. It’s a charity who provides support for disabled children and young adults. They have 3 locations on the east coast of Scotland. They provide a safe place for play and interaction with others who are alike and run clubs etc to give the service users the chance to do ‘normal’ activities in a more relaxed environment. My daughter has been using the yard for a little over a year now and we use it at least 3 times a week so it made sense. The logo is really cool and I thought it would fit into almost any design so trying to figure one out was tricky.

P.s The Yard don’t disclose partners so I’ve just added some companies who I’ve been using recently.

I was digging this livery, until I started doing my photos. The white background ones are alright, but the rest look like a muddy mess. It is what it is.
I feel the opposite. My cars look better on the move!

Your cars are nice though, very well balanced

I know this doesn't fit with your competition guidelines and I don't plan on making an entry but this theme did give me an idea and I ran with it. Hopefully you guys can do something too. All of the decals I used are in the SVG Decal Request Thread, posted just a few days ago so quick to find. My mother is a special ed teacher and she met my father when they were working at a Cerebral Palsy center (he's a chef though). Anyway, I've always been exposed to this part of the world and try to support them whenever I can.

Just like @Nuschel01 said : add a 02 Numberplate, a BRZ with the same livery, and enter! You’ll have fun and you’ll bring attention to your cause!

I finished my decal set today, hopefully I won’t be the last to post an entry this time!

Also, even if I like seeing many entries, I’ll have a hard time with the poll if I have to manage 38 entries with 7 pictures each!
