Bloody hell!!!! its the ghost of christmas past :sly: .... hows things mate?

will update in the morning :) nice to see you back 👍

Sometime around the period I set the 2'07.080 at S4 (not the IB10 listed) I improved it to a 2'06.560 there Mr. P :sly:

Hi, I'm not sure if this topic is still alive,
but here's some of my best times including one new record time.

Took awhile to get them checked and listed here because using
2 memory cards which bought have different GT4 game saves.
Most of my times are 2-3 years old and didn't think back then that
would need a replay to prove the my times.

B-Licence

B1 9.759
B2 10.759
B6 22.238
B7 26.119
B8 15.051
B9 12.410
B10 2'12.521
B12 17.168
B16 23.453

A-Licence

A2 27.258
A6 30.047
A9 16.913
A11 12.539 also have 12.572 on another memory card
A12 28.759

The A11 record I ran in spring 2008
All I can remember about it now is that back then I was suprized for
surviving the fatale turn without hitting wall.
I also remember that I had some tranny problems during this specific run,
while coming out of the turn and accelerating towards finish line.
If you demand a replay, I'll propably be able to run 1! :D

regards

MadMax

impressive A11 time, if indeed its unconfirmed, i believe u though;) just wondering what controller u used?

My best GT4 licence result of all time was S13 - 1'14.108 with a DS2 👍

Ib3 26.888
s10 2'34.257
s16 6'45.932 (made a huge .7 sec mistake towards the end)

on licences s 10 are you using a steering wheel, because that looks like a great run you should post on youtube so i can see it. i myself am using a dual-shock controller , setting a s 10 2:35:767.

hi everyone ,been using gt4 on a ps2 for a while using youtube and gamefaqs
license test guide ( at the bottom ) as my benchmark for records until i found GTPLANET now i have a whole lot of work to do over. now people who are setting records are using dual-shocks controllers and steering wheels if you can put a signature ( ds ) or (stw ) so i can compare skill level when i post
records , some i can match even beat with a (ds ) and some i can't even come close to , please and thanks.

http://db.gtrp.de

This is the most accurate database that houses licence records, It also displays the controller one uses and you can download the replays of the records, If you have a replay transferring device that is.

The authoritative place for license test records is actually GTRP. Quite a few of the times in this thread's first post are quite slow compared to what the best GT4 drivers from around the world have done. I can state with absolute certainty that you will be unable to beat the first-place time on GTRP for any of the licenses, as long as you obey their clean racing rules. And skill level has almost nothing to do with the type of controller - if you take the time to count, I believe that 41 of the 80 first-place license times on GTRP were set with a DS2. It's very easy to fall into the trap of assuming that steering wheels automatically give you an advantage, but the license records are a clear demonstration of the falsehood of that belief.

Edit: MarkWebber beat me to it!

If you think that's proof of greatness, then just watch this:

This might be the most impressed that I have been by a time by holl01 in GT4. It may not be the most technically challenging of all car/track combinations, but I find the execution stunning.

I said an automatic advantage, meaning that people tend to think that if you get a wheel, you'll magically become invincible against any controller users. Yes, wheels have the advantage of precision with controls (although the trail braking that you cite is still entirely possible with a DS2), but controllers have unmatched quickness, which in GT4 is a major advantage when, as is often the fastest way to drive, you're "drifting" the car around corners.

I know this thread is far from current, but i've just finished redoing the licenses and want to post my times, i realize that they are not the fastest out there, but i'm (justifiably?) proud of them.

This started off as me wanting to redo the dirt/snow licenses without rubbing the walls, which i did to get gold times originally, but then i realized i could improve the tarmac license times by a fair bit too, as before when i got gold i moved on, but this time i kept going until i was happy with the times. These were done between the 12/4/10 & 27/11/10.
I have replays of all, but no practical means of showing them.

All no contact & OLR clean, (which is only really relevant to special conditions & some road courses)

If a time seems unrealistic let me know, i might have copied it off the PS wrongly (but i don't think so)
