GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

ENTRY SUBMISSION

 • The only way you can take part is to be a member of the GTPlanet forums. If you haven't created your account yet, click here.
 • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
 • Unsure how to? Copy and paste the following: FINAL ENTRY
 • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a competition.
 • You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
 • Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
 • Absolutely no entries which utilise edited/hacked file saves.
 • Winner gets to choose the following month’s theme.
 • The organisers may ask for the original image/livery and it must be submitted if so.
 • It's recommended to share the original livery online (in-game) to prove it’s your work.

ENTRY PRESENTATION
 • All images shall have preview images which may not exceed 640 pixels in either direction (main and bonus pictures).
 • You have to post two main pictures of your entry using the mandatory location and settings as shown in the quote below.
 • You are allowed to post two bonus pictures in a spoiler (
...
) with free location and settings (unless the unique restrictions of the week’s theme specify something else).
 • You have to make one post with ONLY the set allowed number of pictures and the FINAL ENTRY (see above) mark. If you want to add precisions/background story/links, you are allowed to double-post under your entry, but please put all additional images in a spoiler. The best way to do it will be to "reply" to your own post.
 • It is recommended you host your image either here on GTPlanet (via the Media section), or on Flickr
 • Not sure how to submit your image? Here's a guide for both methods mentioned above.
 • Do not attach your phots directly to your entry post.
 • A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
 • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it; it makes poll creation much easier!
 • No post-game editing of any entry image is allowed.
 • Mark your entry with which platform you're on and which mode you're using, whether it’s taken on PS4 Base, PS4 Pro, PS5 Raytracing or PS5 Framerate.

MANDATORY PICTURES
 • You have to post a front and a rear quarter view of your car:
 • Do not use any Filters or Effects at all and only the camera setting above within the allowed limits; the pictures are supposed to be as equal as possible for all entries and not give anyone who is a bit more savvy with the Scapes Camera an advantage! Try to stay as close as possible to how the video shows the shot to be taken!

NOTE: if you have previously entered, just go to Scapes > My Library > click your previous entry > Open Scapes > change car to the new entry, refocus and snap a new photo. No need to reposition the camera/car unless its proportions are wildly different.

Please, ensure you read and understand all requirements for this competition. Failure to follow the rules may result in disqualification. If you have questions, start a convo with me, Matski or any other participant you feel comfortable reaching out to.

PLEASE NOTE: Repeat offenders will be disqualified. If your entry doesn’t match the rules you will be made aware of it at least once, so please keep an eye out for any notifications reaching your profile.

FINAL ENTRY
PS4 Pro

2014 no.33 KRH PUMA Super GT, Suzuka. I redid this livery for this LEC, I originally had gold paint showing through the mask, but that left me unable to do the weird little chrome bit on the front fender. I did the gold puma logo with some good showcase gradients and painted chrome for the show through on the fender. The sunny bonus shot shows the graduated chrome on the fender fairly well.

Isn't that a Super GT (ie. not JGTC) ?? Think the brief calls for 1993 - 2004 cars (JGTC) only.

That said, it's a damn cool livery!

So like many others, I really don't like making replicas. For one, they've all been done before. Most of the good ones have been done many, many, many times. Even finding one that has only been done a few times can be challenging. And if you do manage to find one, good luck finding all of the decals (or even decent resolution pictures of it). Well, fortunately the Yellow Corn Mclaren is much more popular than the Beemer. That said, I still can't bring myself to make a 1:1 copy - there is always room for improvement. On this one the wheels had to change from the stock BMW, especially since the car wears Work stickers... must have Work wheels, and why not color match them? I also used a red to orange fade rather than a solid orange and shifted a few decal locations slightly.

FINAL ENTRY
PS5 Raytracing

To be honest it's really hard for me to dive into JGTC, but I learned a few things. Especially in the 90s there were quiet some exotic entries in the smaller classes.

Here is something I have found pretty interesting, a S13 which was very unsuccessful in the 1995 championship.

JGTC GT300 #25 Team Taisan Jr. with Tsuchiya MR2
I chose this car as a tribute to Shingo Tachi after reading about his tragic death. This is s replica of the car he and veteran Keiichi Suzuki drove to victory at Suzuka in his first GT300 race. They would go on to win 5 of the 6 points races and the all-star race to easily earn the 1998 GT300 championship. While putting the livery on the car went smoothly, making the missing decals was a challenge. I traced the Tsuchiya Engineering decal on the rear wing by hand from a photo then spent hours cleaning it up to get the file size small enough to upload. I did the same for the cat on the Wise Sports decal from a photo of an old wheel with the logo on it. The rest of the decals were either available or easy to make. The only thing I'm not happy with is the BP decal on the side of the car but that's where it's supposed to be and I can't do anything about the ducts being there. I'm still learning how to use Inkscape but luckily there's plenty of tutorial videos available and it's been pretty easy to pick up.

This is my second LEC entry (I did the other bonus one first) and I hope to do more. I've really enjoyed the challenge and the people have been great!

Do we know when the next LeC will start?

It's picked and all, I'm just not in a position to do the header image on it at the moment.
I'll probably make a tweak to it as 3 replica LECs back to back will not be fair to those that like to create their own style.
Especially given it would be two Japanese themes back to back.
