Really struggled to get started on this one. Been busy and a serious lack of inspiration I guess. That said, this car is soooo much fun to drive (especially on the 'Ring 800 race where Fuel 5 can make all 3 laps without pitting).

FINAL ENTRY

The BMW MonoSpyder

Always liked the idea of road-going real driving machines such as Lotus 7, Caterham, X-Bow, BAC etc:
Small, simple, lightweight, fast, open-top, open-wheel sports cars made for trackdays and quick jaunts.
I would love BMW to create something like that – I would call it the MonoSpyder.
The livery would be simple, classic but sporty:
BMW Motorsport “War Paint”.

This is beautifully simple and simply beautiful

I wanted to bring a military livery on this RA272.
My first idea was just a mono-color livery in addition to the creation of complementary panels (I hope it sounds good in English) 😅
But I had the feeling that something was missing... So i added a camo and took some inspiration on the Comic Book STREAMLINER.
Here comes the "hero" Billy Joe, leader of the Red Noses and his #66

Love the concept and the execution!

Ok so now there are less than 24 hours left for me to enter "my" LEC and I still don't know which car I'm going to work on!

But I'll be there for sure!

Thanks to everyone who entered already, I hope I won't be the only one to join the party "tomorrow".
So many great entries already, I know it will be a hard choice once again but I still hope it could be even harder within the end of this LEC! :)

DEADLINE

July 3rd, 2023 - 23:59 UTC
Am I misunderstanding something?

It is 1:37 am on July 3rd at the moment where I am, we still have 20 hours before the end right?

At least I hope because since my last message earlier an idea finally popped in my mind so I hope it's not too late!! 😳 😱

It's been quite hard for me to chose the right car and the right design for this LEC.

I ended up thinking about the BAC Mono I still hadn't done nothing for, and the Abt Audi A4 Touring Car from old GT games which was a livery I always loved, and thought could fit pretty well the BAC Mono with some tweaks and personal touch.

The project is far from being a replica but it's loosely inspired from the A4 Touring Car livery.

I didn't know this car would be such a pain to work on.
I managed to put a pattern on the "other" parts playing with angles and depth.
It's been quite difficult to do but I'm quite happy with the result.

At start I painted the car in the Audi Sepang Blue but I didn't like the fact that the car was full blue and wanted to keep the carbon parts so I bought a new BAC Mono painted in blue to do this, so if you're interested in downloading the livery, keep in mind it will apply on the paint of the car you bought.

Thanks everyone for your beautiful entries and good luck for the poll. 🍻

@AJGarbutt88 I went to your gallery and saw you were wearing my Wipeout Qirex helmet and suit, thanks for that, I'm glad you liked it :) )

Livery Link

It's an idea I created a while ago, but one I felt needed fleshing out a bit. Specifically it was an idea to imagine what a Mugen Power GP machine of the 60s could have looked like, had Mugen been founded as a company several years earlier than 1973. Tried to keep the livery more period appropriate, whilst adopting the Mugen colours we'd come to know many years later. Completed with the legendary Tetsu Ikuzawa as its driver.

FINAL ENTRY

PS4 Base
Love the bare bio-composite on the 2023 Super Formula Dallaras, so left it bare, the default liveries are red and white, so I went with blue, based on the Aston Martin Ocellus Teal which I think goes well with bronze. I was sure there was an aftershave that used those colours, couldn't find it, but found Issey Miyake perfumes which are in that range.
After a bit of research, this livery is based on Miyake's Bao Bao range of bags, and the 'smudging' that goes with the Miyake 132 5 range of structural clothing designs (oh yes, and if you want full on Zoolander-style fashion statements, the '5' in '132 5' stands for '5th dimension').

The bags' influence appears mainly on the side spoilers that frame the side air intakes (can't remember what they are called)

The ragged/gradiated patterns on the triangles is from this sort of thing (warning, brain meltingly slow, skip to 3:30 in the vid)

Miyake did seem to have fun with his designs and an interest in structure, so not full blown Zoolander, but for sure in the re-assuringly expensive range. He pushed the recyclable/sustainable angle too, which makes a motorsport sponsorship unlikely, but Super Formula are pushing the sustainable thing now too, with the bio-composites and the green in the logo - you gotta start somewhere :) If Miyake did sanction a livery, I thought he'd want it to look a bit posh and discrete as this is the sure sign that the over-priced bottle of perfume you have in your hand is worth the money :)
