The GTP Rolex Sports Car Series S5 Spot Race! Laguna Seca!~ Completed!

I could do a spot race for the Clio series I had in the making before I got my job at Dominos, if people want to practice no ABS in a slower car. It's on RH or SS tyres so not that low grip tyres but real Clios use slicks so :P.

It's basically an ST car but lighter and less powerful ;). The track would be GP/D or Motegi East.

If not meh I've just been looking for an excuse to do a spot race for it..

There was also the Ginetta (Calloway C7) cup which has sorta G50 looks but I gave it G55 specs, also planned to be no ABS and on RH tyres.

Depends on time. I've gotta get a new router in the meantime.

Back on topic, I'm ready to practice some no abs this week. Let me know if you guys have a room up.

Yeah, Mine, it got cancelled due to my job which I didn't have when I opened it..

I don't really count Mortens as it's the V6 Clio which doesn't have a real life series, mine is the FF Clio like the UK/Euro series.

I've got to go out saturday night but there could be a small chance i'll get home on time. So put me down for the other Ferrari please!

In that case, can you please tell me if you can't make it so I can take your place if necessary.

I won't know until I'm actually leaving though haha, just sign up for a different car of you want to race...

I might not be there either, I have to do K.O qualifying at ADR W.E.C and if I make it through, it is a 4 hour endurance. If I'm K.O I could make it.

Maybe it is good I'm a GT reserve, now I can do double duty; W.E.C and Rolex.

I started practicing at Daytona in the Ferrari and the No ABS thing works well, I now have to work hard on my breaking instead of just pushing L2 down. I still need to get used to it though and drive the other cars.

My bad habit happening again :ouch:.

Already started practicing in the Audi with no ABS on Laguna. However will need tips on where/how to time the brakes right for Corkscrew and Andretti Hairpin. Could it be the fact that my transmission is too high and I'm approaching it too fast rather than needing to brake earlier? :sly:

Seems its a uniform problem, or at least an Essex-based one. I can't get either of those right either. Lighting the tyres up like a Christmas tree. :sly:

Driving with a DS3 in a GT car is kind of crazy. Any pressure on the brake trigger is too much.

I might take the Chevrolet Corvette for a spin in GT for the spot race.

I like it :), it feels great with No ABS and is a challenge to overcome for me because I'm not that used to it.

Nothing wrong with that BB.. Maybe increase front to 4/1 then the front will lock a bit more than rear etc, which could help the car from snapping (sideways?)

I find I vary BB for different tracks.

I just very lightly press the L2 and it works fine, though still need to practice the 1st corner at Daytona.

I think it's down to the steering sensitivity, which might need toning down. I find that it snaps sideways after braking, hence why I think it's steering rather than the brakes....

The tyres light up at the front, which is the main issue for me because they then begin to smoke and.... that isn't good to see or have anyway. I may hit 4/2 and really feather the brake trigger. If you're around your PS3, I could show you in a lobby.... might be simpler to see than explain.

They used to sponsor Team Betta Electrical in V8s ;).

Rather OT though.

Storm I can't get on the PS3 until after 11pm due to well work :sly:.

Ah damn. I can be online then though, or anytime really, I have pretty much all week since I'm off work with chickenpox.

Well, I'm not quite at the specs of the Chevy, since I'm still breaking it in, but I'm currently 1:25.874 as my best time. Shame I can't stay consistent thanks to the lack of ABS... :sly:

Also, Paul..... you make a valid point about the Ferrari, so I'm thinking that everything else may need a bump.

I pre-emptively said that the Ferrari may be tonnes quicker to Polar on Skype, and if need be, the rest of the cars will get a bump, and maybe (thinking of this now) the Ferrari gets a little extra weight added.

I think that I've underspec'd the Viper if I'm honest, as well, but I did that intentionally because I won in S2 with it, even with about 15 less bhp and 20 added kg towards the end.

Hmm, I loaded up my ghost for Laguna Seca to see how bad I was going to do with no abs. I ended up being a tenth faster. But then again I have a whole new setup on the car.

Gonna see how it is for thr gt cars now.

I'm getting used to that no ABS thing. Also I decided to tune my car from scratch, which means I'll take some time tuning. I'll have to learn how to use manual transmission, too.

Does anyone in DP have a time for Laguna Seca?
