Its no challenge with TCS, Its floor it and hold nitrous. Just like driving with the aids. Unless your using an 600hp+ car, you really dont need TCS (given your good with throttle control) and your skill should keep you on the road. ;)

Just a suggestion, but shouldnt there be a sub 400hp section for slightly modified cars. For those people who dont want to spend alot of cash into one car. It will also be more realistic more of a casual drag competition.

Sorry about the delays guys, I'm moving house this week so I'm on my mother's computer to make up the lack of being on here the past 3 weeks. From next week I should be back on nearly 24/7. :D

Now, 1st off.....my bad with the 4WD's. It was the FX45 that was low 9s....I was thinking it was Nissan not Infiniti (well, technically it still is a Nissan, just a rich man's Nissan :P) But there is a Japanese equivilant.....technically. That car is the Mitsubishi Airtrek (Outlander here in Australia), that is a mini-SUV and does 9.4's with no real major tranny tuning.

Next, thanks to I-Runner for the backup with the 4WD SUV times, they are being transferred over after I type this message.

A little thing for Texanidiot, TCS is essential for quick times, especially in a FF. I wouldn't have 2 cars in the 11.60's if it wasn't for TCS or launch technique.

As for the FF's....I tried out the Accord V6 with surprising success as there are still a few of them there in the Top 15 from the old days. I've still got to tune the gearbox but I'll give you the low down for my current time:

3rd gear launch - 4500rpm (yes, that low!!)
TCS = 7, -50/200 ballast, brand new car @ 427hp NA + 70hp N2O shot.
0-100km/h - 4.460sec
0-160km/h - 7.340sec
0-200km/h - 9.800sec
1/4 mile - 11.684@223km/h, crossing at redline in 5th gear (7400rpm).
All mods done, except using completely standard transmission!!

Time to copy all the times between my last post and this one. I'll be back on next week after that.

Until then. Mafs!!

Moving on up...to the sky...

I'm using gears 1,2,3,4. But I feel like everybody else is starting off in 2nd or 3rd.

Since more people would rather a class based Top 10....I'll change the rally one to that. And let's make it this way to give the class a lot more parody as we all know that the 4WD cars have a lot better launch overall and RWD kills FWD.

4WD cars = 400hp limit.
RWD cars (FR, MR & RR) = 450hp limit.
FWD cars = Unrestricted

Anyone find that fair?? As you can see from the FWD top 10, we still won't have much of a chance for FF, but it will provide a challenge nonetheless.

I also considered a street tyred Top 10 too (S3 rubber)......but thought that would be still dominated by the Spec-C.

Last night I figured I'd dust off the old Type R Integra for a run. Knowing it would be hard to beat my 11.754 of before, I went for a new set of gears (gear trick, auto set 5, then back to 3.000 ratio). Using my usual settings (TCS 7, -50/200 Ballast, 50:60:60 LSD) and now using 1st gear now for a launch......I took off at 7500rpm and pulled the following numbers:
0-100km/h - 4.560sec
0-160km/h - 7.560sec
0-200km/h - 9.720sec
1/4 mile - 11.729@229km/h

There's not much left in it, but I'm going to keep trying till I see an 11.699 before I move early next week. Then I'll go for the 4WD records. :)

Great improvement in your time BonzoHarry, you've jumped to #4 in the FR rankings with your last time. :D

I like to drive cars without Controls , but in this kind of races
if you want the best time you have to race with the TCS.

In the LeaderBoard about Las Vegas in my forum i manage
times With and Without TCS ;)

A new player in the SUV class:

My high-flying Pajero. All I did was slap on some super softs. Same tuning as I use it for rally. Same suspension trans gearing, lsd, and no tcs/asm. No N20, ran mid 10s. Starting in 2nd, heavy on the N2O, easily runs mid 9's

I have yet to put this one to its full potential.

Time: 9.496 👍

So Im first, and 2nd with two different cars

Thanks, I was shocked myself how cleanly it launched. I picked it becuase, unlike the production monsters we were using, the Pajero is light (hence why the HP-monster Dodge Ram isnt #1). My only thought was that it was too tall, and very un-aerodynamic. But the soft and tall suspension I have set for rallieing allows the trucks weight to transfer over the rear, and it hooks up great. And then short gearing does the rest.

When I come back after christmas day, Ill be sure to have a dedicated setup for that pajero, and lower times. Aim'n for low 9s, MAYBE into the 8's. But not to sure on that one.

Just went back and got all silver in International License A and i won the Skyline GT-R concept. Hooked it up to the max (stage 4 + juice) and this thign hauls ass. My best 1/4 mile is 7.821 and this was my 3rd attempt. The tranny shifts very very very quickly and has short ratios as well as 7 speeds. Great car all around.

It seems like everybody else is starting in 2nd gear, I've been starting in first, should I re-do my transmission settings for a 2nd gear start?

If you make your 1st gear real tall, you dont need to. It all depends on your gearing, but for most of us, since were running so much power, 1st gear is useless because it ends so early, costing us time having to shiftl

Well, I've finally moved house.....as they say, it's one of the 2 most stressful things you have to do in life and I'm still finding that out.....moving pains suck!! :yuck:

Anyway, set up the PS2 again and thought about you guys struggling with the SUV times. I went back to the Japanese SUV's and then realised I had something already in the garage that fit the bill and that my words way back in the thread weren't silly....I found the Toyota RSC ROAD CAR!! :dopey: 💡

Worked it up.....and without a blink, bangs in a 9.1sec time with the TC, similar to the FX45.....so a tiny bit of gearbox fiddling got me an 8.988. It's well over 500hp, and add the nos aswell and you've got fun on a stick. :D

Now, I'm just letting you know to keep posting the times up, I will be doing a big update of all your times in the next day or two, I'm just waiting for the net to get hooked up at the new house (on my mother's comp at the moment...lol). Anyway, there's another SUV to try boys and girls.

Till next time.
Mafs!!

added bit: I'd also like to know what car you used Mr.Diablo. :)

what car?
added bit: I'd also like to know what car you used Mr.Diablo. :)

I am using A Subaru Sedan Impreza WRX STI Spec C., I've done every thing to it and when I try to adjust the settings for the suspension no matter what I do it always make the car go slower. The settings now are damn near stock, if I lower the car it goes slower, if I raise the car it will go faster but if its to high it slows down, if I soften up the rear suspension it will make it a little faster. Right now I launch the car in 2nd gear and don't have much trouble with shifting although I do "miss a shift" and the car kind of bogs down and I go slower but that is something that I have to work on. I am open for suggestions and any help would be greatly appreciated
