Starting to take shape my man... 👍

Some nice ideas and like the implemented screen. Not sure what others think but not so fond on the angle you have set for the surround processor. Just a personal thing I guess but for me it would look better just flush than angled.

Would you be better to consider possible future plans for the dash/wheel cover? Id have that centre part around the wheel a bit wider and as a seperate screwed on section to the main front part. This way if you ever upgrade/change wheels that section and not the whole dash needs to be removed. Requiring only a new wheel section surround done for a new wheel.

Keep up the good work though.

The key turns on the power for the unit when turned to the first position.
If I could think of something todo with it when turned over (starter motor firing) I would add that too.

Now thats pretty cool. I'll have to add that to my rig someday.

Now that is a wicked idea for the starter; I could just put 1v into a TT when it gets turned over :)

Yeah, I am thinking that the decoder needs to go flush, its far too complex with all those angles; just a shame to remove it after the effort to get it in.

I am going to make a cover to go over the wheel, which will allow the centre speaker to get integrated too. I could make it wider, but so much else would have to change if I changed wheels re-doing those two panels won't be a problem. For example, as the hood will be fitting tightly that would have to be dumped too.

Wanted to get onto the covering, but until I decided on what 5.1 speakers to use I cannot. Have been looking but unless I want to dump £300 on them they all look way too small to make a good sound.

I have been trying to finish off the right pod.
I ended up removing the angle of the decoder, and moving the location of the equipment more towards the wall to allows the TT to fit in the end.

Amp tucked away.

I even managed to wire everything together.

The idea behind the patch panel is that it allows me to change what goes where very easily.
I can try the surround L/R rather than the front or swap the sub and the centre over.
And as one EQ has the RTA on it, I can even change which channel goes to which EQ to see what gives the best result.

But the best thing is that there has been a few session using it all in anger. The verdict? It works :)
I am getting the passing of the rumble strips from left to right, when you come up behind a car you get the full force of its exhaust and with the right car you even get road rumble at just the right level.

What I have also discovered is how variable it all is. Never mind from car to car or track to track, the level of the effect varies just doing a lap. It is most frustrating. When it all comes together it is amazing, the extra level it gives may not help shaving off seconds on a lap time but the immersion is priceless.

However, now there will have to be loads of playing / testing / tweaking; joy!

Had the local building inspector round too, checking up to make sure all is within code.

One of the reasons the TT seems to be so much better might be do with me now having attached the TTs directly to the seat.

I still have the last one to mount to the rear of the seat.

Then I will have to see which works best on which channel. I am also going to have to duplicate a channel for the sub to hang off. Although the small EQ does have a sub out, so I could link the sub to the centre (the right channel of the EQ) and see how that feels.

Oh look who's getting the tactile bug now!
Check out Dirt 3 and Shift 2 apart from having annoying sounds triggering the tactile on the main menu screens they have some great tactile in gameplay. Get up alongside a Metro 6R4 on Monaco in Dirt 3.

Also dont forget that your DSP Can have a dramatic effect on different channels as to how it changes mid and low frequencies. Some DSP modes may give different/better results.
